I'm getting an error:

Minimum Recommended Hardware Check Failure

Please update your driver. Game requires version 442.29 or newer. Please visit nvidia.com .... etc....

But I have the Geforce experience installed and it's telling me no new driver available.

WTF

You can grab a Hot fix driver here -----> https://international.download.nvidia.com/Windows/442.37hf/442.37-desktop-notebook-win10-64bit-international.hf.exe

Discussion topic https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4994

This Hotfix driver resolves the following issues:

  • [Zombie Army: Dead War 4][Vulkan]: Game may display flicker when in game HDR is enabled
  • [Red Dead Redemption 2][Vulkan]: Random crash during gameplay on Pascal and older GPUs
  • [Battleye][Low-Latency Mode]: Launching Battleye with NVIDIA Low Latency Mode set to Ultra may cause DWM to reset
  • Twitch Studio shows corruption when Image Sharpening is enabled globally from the NVIDIA Control Panel
  • Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed crashes when playing in a water level

GeForce Experience sucks for hotfix drivers, it never tells you when one is available. You need to follow the actual instructions in the warning message and download it from the site. It released today along with the patch.

So, any performance improvements for Pascal/Maxwell GPUs with new drivers + latest patch?

On a pair of Maxwell 980ti's my first run the game ran with some micro-stutter, exited the game and restarted and the game runs butter smooth 60fps (59.9) for me, however I'm using the 442.37 hotfix driver as I can't find the 442.29 on Nvidia's page yet

might be the reason I'm still having the water bug issue. :facedesk:

Logic would say your hotfix driver is the correct one as it's more recent. :p I think the R* message is referring to a developer driver that they thought would keep the version number after it released to the public.

I wouldn't put money on that, Nvidia has done number swapping in the past, even since RDR2 got released so there's no guarantee, the 442.37 HF is dated 14/02/20 afaik, maybe there's a newer one coming for the main driver page.

I never actually saw the R* message for the driver update

overall the game is running smoother for me atm

Question: I received an alert to update my NVIDIA driver, but the link points to a previous version. Where can I get the correct version for my game?

Answer: Until the final driver update is available, players can install the GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 442.37 available here: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4994

Honestly not sure if we're gonna get patch notes for this one as it seems like this was a joint fix with NVIDIA.

Installed the hotfix, entered the game to test it and immediately hog-tied by a griefer so had to exit, great.

None. This might be animal spawn issue patch for PC although animal spawns weren't really an issue on PC.

I hope I'm not deluded myself but the performance in the towns is much better after a hour of playing in story mode I didn't see freezes, lags and popping textures even there is a much more peds 😀

And I'm still with 441.66 driver 😆 the dumb thing for now is that Nvidia still doesn't have a new official driver.

What about smoke? What about table?

Is there a solution to not install the patch if i'm playing only in SP?

Table is not PC specific. It's still broken on consoles, so it's also broken on PC.

Yes, just the hotfix released for the patch, you need to get it from NVIDIA's support site. https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4994

The patch + driver focuses on Pascal users so if you had crashing there should be improvements.

Uhm dumb question, but idk, it’s just a matter of time (time quite fast) that the new driver is going to be available on Geforce Experience or I have to manually update it (uninstall the old and install the new one?)

It’s a hotfix but it’s still also a new driver version, no?

Ahah I had to wait 20 minutes. I confirm that smoke is still absent ...

Usually I am patient but I also start to be a little disappointed ... especially if they are bugs introduced by patches ... meh.

One thing that can cause the brief freezes is a service that runs on windows PC's that you can disable. Look for the service SettingSyncHost.exe and turn it off. I have not had one freeze since I disabled it.

Players from Social Club received 3gb patch, and we from Steam got 405,1mb. Wondering why? How much epic got?

Steam only downloads delta.

So, I think I found one fix in this patch: you can now place a waypoint using double click even far away from the screen center, while previously it would center the map on the first click and the waypoint would thus be misplaced.

However, I might be wrong that was the case before 'cause I haven't played it for quite some time. Also, it still does center the map if you click a blip, so the waypoint is still misplaced if you use double click to set it.

It's funny they said that because I just crashed and came straight here. Online is not savable at this point.
