I'm sorry for being perfectionist, I've spent so much time making various SA icons that I get OCD when I see style deviations.

 

I bet the detail gets aliased ingame anyway, because game scales all icons to screen resolution.

 

And positioning is quite important, as you see all vanilla weapons point a specific direction (apart from special weapons, which couldn't be placed this way):

Plus vanilla icons often aren't 1:1 renders as you did, they have various distorions, like shortened barrels, stocks, or different proportions etc

Regarding the icons, there is literally no purpose for the position just for aesthetic. I don't really think the positions matter. VC icons had several different positions and so did III.

 

GTA San Andreas GTAIII/LCS Mobile Style Weapon Icon Pack v1 for SA ...

This is what I basically had in mind for the icons. SA style (thick outlines, cartoony feel) , but keeping sum type of realism to it like from VC and III. Outlining special details and such.

 

Like for the Tactical SMG:

^Details are crisp, gives you a good outlook of the weapon. "Position" literally plays no part unless you are speaking about the orientation of direction where in the games most of the icons point to the right (Which Cesar perfectly did :) ) 

Anyways, the icons are the least of my worries right now especially when they're done so perfectly! 

@Yhdf you may have some competition 😛 

 

As we speak, Sebastian is being modelled for cutscenes, and the first mission will be done and ready to show to the world :D

@deltaCJ vc have a weapon icons directing to specific positions, atleast for firearm: 3 is only one that isnt consistent.

You dont have to change anything, for me these icons are similiar to SA but with more details. People, why do you want this mod to be more like SA? SA icons are not detailed coz it was an old game... He spent much of his free time to make these icons, and I think that they should stay like that (I mean, untouched) coz for me they're amazing!

These are some ripped off LCS mobile icons, which are the worst in the whole series. They come from mobile III icons, which were later recoloured to VC with some addons, and then recoloured once again to LCS. Plus this set which you posted has some ugly SA weapons added to it.

I think it's cool that you guys try to give the icons some fresh air in terms of style.

 

The only problem I see is that the weapons try to look 3d in terms of perspective but the sides are shadowed. The pistol icon doesn't have this issue, but it's really small and some handle details could be removed.

I appreciate you trying to fix it, but I've never said that the purpose was to make the icons like the original style. The black and white icons are there, yes, but it's just inspiration. Sure, I still need to change and fix some of them, but you're taking this way too seriously.

And @Brooklynzsmac no disrepect man, but nobody really cares if you could do better.

My point of the icons was not to USE THE SAME REFERENCE. 

My point was to show you the direction I was heading.

 

Also, @Jinx. the icons look 3D because I used Max to render the model, and Cesar just put them together (like a beast.)

 

If it is THAT SERIOUS for the icons to be more "simplistic", Cesar will gladly remake them. In my opinion @Brooklynzsmac you come off very arrogant remember people spend time on doing these mods. Sure a small texture replacement isn't nothing, but it's still people giving up their free time to complete the task.

Say what you'd like but constructive criticism is different than destructive criticism. 

 

Cesar has agreed to remake some of them you found "horrible" and distaste full to the eye, so I guess you won in this case.

So you're heading direction of broken LCS mobile icons, far from perfect, ok.

You see, that's your problem, SA icons unlike III and VC should be drawn by hand, that's what makes them distinctive. They often has parts cut, distorted or rescaled, that's why original Shotgun seems short and AK and M4 have no stocks.

I give up free time to do my mods too, and I came across people telling they are "sh*t", but it only inspired me to do better. My criticism is constructive, because if the team doesn't pay attention to such details as properly styling weapon icons, then I don't know how the rest of the mod is developed. If it's in the same manner, a lick and a promise, without a proper research, then I don't see bright future for it.

I dont know how you all get to this point, where conversation is like "stfu". These are just icons, and everyone can do whatever he want in HIS OWN mod. So writing like "you must change this" is just funny. Everyone has his own opinion about these icons, so you cant just "force" deltaCJ to change the icons style, or try to show him how you want these icons to look like.

I like the new icons because it's DIFFERENT, it's NEW! Mods are supposed to give us something new for the games. If I wanted the same I would play the original game again.

 

By the way how many missions will you do and will you do any new cars/clothes/buildings too?

Thanks guys, We decided to keep the style we were heading for :)

(Changed them to 128x128 for memory purposes 256x256 icons aren't very necessary.)

@marco886 I am planning on adding about 50 missions for the whole game. First playable release will contain either ten or twenty of those missions.

Regarding new vehicles I don't think so, it's only been a year in time, but I am thinking of adding cars. OGMoney also made "personal vehicles" , so just like GTAV you'll have a personal car for your character :D

Those icons look impressive! Good job! Though the shadow on the pistol could be less thick. The other two icons nailed it. Also the M4 could use a little bit more details. But other than that, it's a good direction :)

I was thinking of doing this yes, and making some aspects in the map just "Out of order" 

 

Maybe changing paintjobs of certain places.

 

Definitely changing some key parts in LS though :)

This looks amazing! Ofc its non-enterable building so this means "no missions there"?

And I'm still thinking about the cars, coz you can just add or change some things on the original ones, without creating another cars from scratch and adding them into the game as you said.

Yeah we could do that, or keep some cars and maybe add some new ones or something like that.

We don't know maybe sooner or later we'll deal with the cars

I agree about those aswell. I think you can use E-Cola for the soda brand. Also the brick texture on the building could be darker.

 

I like that place, overall :)

Darkened the brick, changed the brand to No Name :)

That way I don't have to half-ass the texture name 😛 

 

EDIT: Forgot to talk about the weapon customization and variation that is planned.

 

Buying weapons will be coming from Arms dealers.

The more progress and respect you get, the more better quality weapons, and more variety in choice you have.

 

For ex:

 

Tier 1 Gun Merchant - Grove Connect (LB) 

- Glock

- Shotgun

- Armour

- Health

- Ammo Replenish (Adds 250 ammo to your whole load out)

 

Tier 2 Gun Merchant - Vagos Connect (Jefe)

- Glock

- Sawed Off

- Uzi

- Molotovs etc...etc...

 

You get the point... :D

 

I'm planning on putting either payphone around the city where you can call them in, or having certain locations where you find the vans. (Like Emmetts)
