Are you planning to make some cutscenes? By the way mod is cool, but I think that year 1991 is just... For me there is not so much changes between 1992 and 1991. Just some older guns and 2 people from Grove that are alive. You should pick earlier date - maybe 1988, 1989 or something like this. But mod itself is really cool.

Cutscenes are being made yes, slowly verrrrrrry slowly like so slow that the first cutscene you would actually see (fully animated, like original SA) would be in the few last missions.

 

EDIT: The year 1991, is because we want this to be the exact year where sh*t goes haywire for Grove Street, where everything goes bad for the gang. We don't plan on many changes. 1 year can still do a lot of work though. Especially in terms of demolition.

Hmm.... I don't think that this good idea actually. It's better to make some fully animated cutscenes at the beginning of the game (and some at the end). It will give this mod "better first feeling" if u know what I mean. If at the beginning everyone will see some really bad looking animations (these from original game, like looped animations of "talking" from DYOM animation selector or some not-fully-animated cutscenes in SA) then the climate of the game will be broken. Not fully broken, but that SA-poor-style animations would be a little bit...out of place... I know that this mod is really hard to do and I would like to help you, but my "skills" in modding are not the best. I can edit the map in the Map Editor, replace sounds in audio folder (by opening the sfx and other files) and edit gta3.img or edit the textures (and make them in Photoshop (that's cool actually)). I'm trying to learn some 3Ds Max basics but for now IMO my skills aren't the best, so I cant help you even if I want to.

It takes time to make these kind of cutscenes, it would be way better and would take less time if it was made in-game with voices, unless as you said, it would be like one or two cutscenes like that. Great Theft Car and It Never Ends don't have cutscenes and they are great games, but i'm just saying.

I understand 100% where you're coming from. But I am making custom in-game animations (in-game like the talking animations you would see in DYOM) You will see an example of this in the introduction...

Another reason for the time being is the cinematic cutscenes (the ones you see before missions) are mostly mocap, and I'm not the best animator. Also the way those cutscenes work is a whole audio file plays over the cutscene, with ambiance and dialogue already recorded. We don't have any good english voice actors (for now, people going through auditioning stage at the moment.) I still have many things to document about the .DAT, .CUT, and .IFP of the cut.img.

Guys some bad news... I have experienced a dead drive where I had the files for 1991... I'm awaiting a copy from OGMoney, but progress is halted for now.

This is really bad situation. And by the way try to implement some fixes to the game like vertex color fix, or Pre-lighting 1.1 fix. I think that GTA SA PC port is just broken. There are plenty bugs and the worst is the in-game lighting system. Some objects and mostly trees are really bright in the night and it's weird and don't look so good... Textures are also broken in some parts of the map (Map Textures Fix 3.3 fix everything :p). Even colors are weird, and on PS2 Rockstar tried to hide it (succesfully). This is just suggestion and you don't have to implement these fixes - anyone can add them to the final version of your mod! (maybe not the textures fix).

Not much, just some weapons, and some animations I custom made for Lil' Devil, nothing major. I just will have to take some time to redevelop the changes I made to the game with CLEO, some map fixes, and model changes.

Haha I know, but this would probably be implemented last, we are more focused on creating the story, characters, and the missions at the moment along with some new parts of the map. (crackhouses, jail, new lighthouse, etc.) Map fixes were starting to be implemented like some collisions fixes, and some lighting fixes (by me personally), but for such fixes for EVERY part in the map (that need fixing) will take a lot of documentation and help. 

 

Our goal IS to polish SA at the same time to give you guys a overall new GTA experience. Though you won't be able to get buff, or fat, or skinny, you'll be able to convert Crack Houses (Turn them into Hood Dens), go to Jail and start revenue, rob stores that will contain 3 missions for each one! (Casing, Exploiting, Robbing: The 3 stages of burglary missions, where you check out the spot/store find information on who runs/manages it, you then find any ways to your loot or ways inside the locked or closed area, and finally going through with the robbery.) and more features! We have a lot of ambitions for this project, and this is why we are taking things slow, so when we get to a certain checkpoint in what we have to do, we won't get confused or side tracked.

Wow! It's really sa style (low poly I mean) and fits into atmosphere of the game. But I'm wondering what that pedestrian model is doing there hah. 

 

EDIT: Are you planning to do some new interiors for houses like this one?

What about the usual Characters like big smoke & sweet are they can make short Presence or they can be side Characters 😅

Are you serious. Big Smoke was in introduction with Sweet, Kendl and other people. They were existing even before CJ flew to the Liberty. So, I think that Lil Devil would have missions from Sweet and Big Smoke in this mod. Coz, u know - Sweet was lider of the gang. He always was. And Lil Devil is from Grove Families. Sweet mentioned about him and Big Devil at the graveyard.... (mission "Sweet & Kendl'').

It's clearly visible they - R* - envisioned him to look more mean and badass, since facial features are leaner and cut in comparison to

more chubby, friendly looking original Smoke, along with different glasses and similar?

Actually, Smoke and Sweet, aren't planned to make an appearance.

 

And @OG.Tony do you mind cluttering the topic? You keep spamming with "make this" and "make that" we're doing what we have planned. And we will let you know what is planned.

 

So for now take a chill pill, and WAIT.

 

 

EDIT: And to @Matrix717 Sweet is not leader in 1991...YET. The events of 1991 lead to the fall of the Grove Street Families (There was 3 different families remember?) But at the moment I'm working out the timeline using GTA Wiki to assist me with canonical details and continuity.  

 

For Ex: While Sweet is adamantly anti-narcotic, Smoke believes that the GSF have fallen from power because of his refusal to sell drugs.[3] Their unwillingness to enter the drug trade has dragged the Grove Street Families out of prominence in the years leading up to the game's storyline. The fact that Sweet insists the gang shouldn't deal in narcotics, the deaths of OGs such as Tony, Big Devil, and Little Devil, and the abandonment of OG's such as Big Bear and B Dup has largely weakened them from their previous dominant position in Los Santos. Likewise, the splitting of the Grove Families into different enemy sets - the Temple Drive Families and the Seville Boulevard Families (From GTA Wiki)

Too much on "to do" list. I think that this mod needs more people. But maybe you can do it with OGMoney. And yeah, I know the San Andreas story. I know that BS was trying to help Grove by telling them to "sell drugs like the others" but Sweet never liked that bussiness. In the introduction Tenpenny was warning Smoke about "what we do with Sweet, when he refuse" and they did it. But San Andreas story is really long and I don't want to spam. By the way @OG.Tony they're right. Youre just spamming about "please make this, oh and maybe this, and this BETA stuff". If you ever made any mod then you should know, that modding is an really hard job. This is Total Conversion (maybe, or only LS conversion) with its own story etc. and they really don't need your spamming. You must chill out and wait for test build of the mod (or something like that). For now we can only wait, and just write some propositions.

Just saying after you finish this mod make DLC about the timeline of CJ before he left Los Santos to liberty City after his Little Brother get  killed ...just saying though :)

What is wrong with you. This mod is about Lil Devil's life, why he is dead, and other stuff. If you really want that DLC, just make it by yourself. And when you realise that you can't do it - stop spamming... 

 

By the way how's things looking? New guns, or something?
