About a year back, me and my buddy were playing RDO quite often. Me and him like to make up little story canons in our heads about the characters we created. I'm an aspiring fictional writer, so this began to build up in my head. Our two characters, a story we'd just made up, and the world of Red Dead. I'd already written a full FanFiction set within the universe of Fallout: New Vegas. It was alright, but was a nice starting point. I tend to use FanFiction's as a way to practice and hone my writing. So after we'd played for so long and told ourselves backstories, tales, traits and lives of our characters due to the amazing open and immersive Red Dead, I decided to write a new FanFic. Set in the universe of Red Dead, but with my own story and my own characters. It's called Dead Mans Boots - A Red Dead Story. It's purely for fun and as a way to practice writing properly for when I decide to write my own novel eventually. I'm just here to promote the efforts I put in. Would be nice to hear some thoughts from the true fanbase of the world I've wrote about. It's basically a story of revenge. It's a fairly simple story, but it's all about the main characters. And I do slip in many references and nods towards the game's world and characters we've already seen. It's just not a story about John Marston, Arthur Morgan, Dutch or Jack. People have made some amazing characters for this game and it would be cool to be able to read more about them and all. I'm currently working on a story of my own (though purely just for fun, I'm no writer) and I post the links on my twitter. I'll definitely give yours a read! I really feel the way you described the way your story was born. Since I storytell for job in my country, my new challenge will be writing a story in english, that's not my language.
