Sergi4UA 74 Posted February 14, 2020 Share Posted February 14, 2020 (edited) An open-source GTA III modification Now available at ModDB: A Day in Liberty is a mod that aims to re-create the atmosphere of GTA1 and GTA2 in Grand Theft Auto III's environment. The goal of the mod is to earn enough money to buy Catalina's house in Shoreside Vale. In the current version you can buy property which will generate revenue up to specific point. In 0.9 five rampages are availalbe for you to complete. Mission difficulty range from Easy to HARD. Small F.A.Q Q: How many missions? A: There are currently 14 missions. Difficulty ranges from very easy to hard. Q: Any new features? A: Yup. Ability to buy property and special events (police activity in Portland after beating a certain mission, gang members becoming unhappy, etc.) Q: How can I contribute? A: If you're a 3D-modeller you can help by redesigning the sewers level or if you know how to create missions, some missions for the mod (you will be credited ingame, of course) Q: How can I contact you? A: The game can crash for various reasons, but the most common is that you A) incorrectly installed the mod or B) mod is conflicting with other mods. A fresh install of GTA3 1.0 without any CLEO scripts or other mods is recomended. Q: My game crashes while I'm on a mission... A: Yeah I know that feel (my game can crash over 100+ times while editing scripts). Please report the bug here (you can also use the mod's Discord server and GitHub issue tracker) and give as much information as you can (what you did before the game crash, what mission you're on, etc.). Q: Steam version? A: CLEO doesn't work right with the Steam version. If you are experiencing troubles running the game on Steam, please downgrade to 1.0 and try again. In the current version (0.8) you can't buy the mansion for obvious reason 😛 : don't think you can "just buy it" without completing a mission to claim it... Unfortunately I don't have any idea of what kind of a mission to create for it EDIT: Originally I had the idea of a system like in GTA1/GTA2: radar starts to blink with a pink marker, the player then need to step on the blue sphere to complete the mod. No over-the-top map changes, no new cars etc. Just a new set of perfectly-made missions for the evergreen III. P.S: I think you should decrease the ammo given for the Sniper Rifle in "Sniper Exercise". In my opinion, 100 bullets are too much. I was planning to use this, but it will require some intensive map editing because the author (or Rockstar Games when they made the sewer map) decided to put it somewhere in Portland up in the sky. Why don't you use this idea? Thanks Already using them along with IDE/IPL positions from DimZet's snow mod (permission asked and got). Currently I will attempt to make "Back to the Roots" a lot interesting and maybe a little harder... It should add more fun to the mission. @The Eddo Thanks As for the blips/spheres... that was a debugging feature 8-Ball is immortal in this mission due to some path and collision bugs (that's why he teleports to you when you reach the vault, because he could easily get stuck in the wall ). I recently released a CLEO mission with @Jeansowaty for GTA San Andreas called Forgive and Forget Oh and... expect some new CLEO missions from me. Anyways, up to the news. A Day in Liberty is currently in process of being ported to GTA Liberty City mod. For those who don't know GTA Liberty City is a total conversion mod for GTA Vice City that aims to convert GTA 3 to GTA Vice City engine. You can learn more about this mod by visiting this link. Early builds of the mod will be available to my patrons or by becoming a contributor (for that, just link any mod you were featured in; in PMs of course). Why I decided to do this? Well... I don't need to explain what happened to our world, don't I? Oh and early builds can be very buggy at times... Anyways, some news for the GTA 3 mod I'm currently working on 0.9.1. It will be a small update that will fix issues with CLEO. So you no longer need to delete your CLEO-scripts.
