I've been working toward getting the gold X on all the weapons in the sharpshooter tab...both regular kills and headshot kills. Once I get both to the gold X, I go to the gunsmith and gold out the weapon components. I have bolt action, repeater and Carcano so far. About 3,000 headshots away from having shotguns finished. Imagine my surprise when I logged in and saw I'd already got the buckle. No memory of it, so I went back through my screenshots as I nearly always take pics when I get a buckle for the first time...turned out I had to go back a long way, achieved it on 7 September 2019 (pics below). Thinking about it I'm not surprised, as anyone who's played since the early days will tell you that in free roam stranger missions were the only way to get money and experience (fishing was actually considered a good earner). Free roam missions used to be a lot more fun too, you were open to attack really quickly after starting them and seeing a blue dot appear on the compass would be exciting. Player and posse assassination missions were my favourite, and now they're gone. Sad times. Look how little money and gold I had back then! So there you go! Really enjoyed this thread, some great achievements. The only buckle I'm intentionally working towards is the Player Bounty Hunter buckle, as it's pretty much all I do in game now. I'm doing it properly too, not getting friends to get bounties and then handing them in or anything like that. I've handed in over 500 player bounties (I record all of them, I've put a few on youtube and made them into little stories), but so far only 70 of them have counted towards the buckle. For a very long time they were broken but after some fix they're a lot better now - however, you have to hand them in without getting killed once - if you do die, you won't get the credit for it. LooseCanon Posted January 8 Share Posted January 8 The most player ones I did in a day was 5, and that involved a lot of lobby hopping to get them to pop up, they seemed to fix them recently as everyone counted unlike before where it was hit and miss. since completing the awards I decided to actually play the story game, I’m 97% on the completion part of that. More information for anyone working towards it - if you successfully hand a player bounty in, you won't be able to see another one show up within a certain amount of time (I haven't figured out how long that is yet, I think it's in the 20 to 30 minute range - I might test it by handing in a player bounty, getting my wife to rack up a $5 bounty and time how long it takes to show up for me). My way around it is by handing in a player bounty and then joining my wife's session once she finds one - the player bounty won't show up for me once I'm on her session, so I have to join her posse, where she'll then accept the player bounty and then you can still get credit for it (seemingly as long as she hands it in, if I do it then again I don't get the credit). Congratulations on the 1,000 Stranger Missions award. It's one of the grindier ones to accomplish. I have a comment on the player bounties award you are working on. I noticed when I was doing it that there was a "cooldown" before I could turn another one in. And, like yourself, I don't know exactly how long the cooldown is either. The comment I wanted to make is that I have had situations where I turn in a player bounty and within a couple minutes I have a notification of another bounty. I always accepted it but when I turned in the second one, I never got credit for it. So I think it is possible to find player bounties closely together, just that you won't get any credit for any but the first until the cooldown period has expired. I have no evidence to 100% validate my claim, just speaking from the experiences when it has happened. Also, lobby hopping and fast travel location hopping are excellent methods to find player bounties. You have a well conceived game plan for finding them. Mine was bugged. It only registered counters that happened when I was standing still and hit punch when the npc was in mid punch. The automatic counters during a fight stopped counting for me around 300-400ish. Total b!tch to get. The best place to get it for me was over near the stables in kind of the industrial area in Saint Denis. There are tons of workers who will fight and they just keep coming. The cops hardly ever come even though their station is only a block away...you can fight in the streets and no witnesses will appear. I just walked around any of the towns and started annoying the townsfolk like standing right in their personal space, pushing them, etc. I always had more luck getting a willing participant(s) near the saloons. New earth-shaking theory: alcohol makes people more willing to mix it up. There's always two NPC's that are itching for a fight at the smaller saloon in Valentine. They will even follow you behind the saloon so you don't draw the attention any tattle-tales. As you have mentioned, the counter mechanic seems kinda bugged. I was lucky to have posse mates that loved to have fight clubs. Not sure if there is a better chance of getting a counter with an NPC or actual player. How long do you need to play and with how many players? Do you need to be in a posse to do it? My circle of friends I play with is not that many, so I saved it for last. I only need that one and the posse assists(need about 500, but can be done fairly quick) So at the moment im at 665/667... when I have done these last two I have 667. I recall it took about the same amount of time as when you play with the band for a daily challenge. Also, it only requires 6 people total and you don't have to be in a posse together. Ths thread has 35k view after all and might be the "go-to" for all who care about the awards in the future... I mean it's the only bragging rights we get... The rockstar social club is so bugged, if you reset the awards in there it counts as not having completed them in the "total awards" you have. I guess most of us reset them to be able to do them multiple times, so not doing that for it to count the total of the 667 awards you have is out of the question for me atleast... so really this is the only place we get to brag a bit I guess... Some of us also have our profile as private our friends only. People can go into the individual award categories and see we have reset them atleast... Hope they fix it some day so the total awards shows correctly. Anyway the thread looks really good now... The only thing you might want to clarify is that even though there were no buckles in the newest updates, there still were new awards to complete, so atleast they havent given up on doing that part. That award you can reset infinite times but if you do reset it it doesn't count as completed anymore. So I resetted it once, completed it again and never resetted it again. Stupid and weird award. Anyway I need 200 posse assist and I can be added as one of those who has them all... Now I see how much time I spend on awards...
