Foxwolfe
Honestly, I hate the award buckles, they look like cheap garbage you'd buy at a dollar store. Never wore one until they added the role and other buckles which actually have some decent design to them. Don't get me wrong though I totally understand the achievement of completing some of them and the desire to display or show them off, and for that you have my respect, some of those buckles are kinda insane, hell some of them are so hardcore they don't even seem to work. I have yet to "evade bounty hunters" according to the award even though I've had multiple 20+ dollar bounties on me since that award has been introduced and not once did I die to the NPC bounty hunters. DarkFlame588
I honestly miss the titles from RDR1 challenges. Buckles are mostly unnoticeable except by shape, besides the non-award ones. GrungeNinja and CosmicBuffalo
Foxwolfe
Damn I hope my post didn't set a negative precedent or anything, my apologies op >_< I do enjoy completing the awards even if I don't go out of my way to do so, I just wish they put more effort into the design of the buckles themselves. As for the awards go the ones that kinda stuck out to me were the 1000 miles by train (I don't ride it nearly enough and only have 332 miles so far) and the jump from horse to train 100 times ones (only got 25 on that so far lol). I'll get them eventually. CosmicBuffalo
CosmicBuffalo
I am trying to create a spot where people can brag about the buckles. Because you cant really tell ingame. In the GTAO forum, the golden statute thread is one of the longest running and has many pages and there is no way to tell in game apart from visiting someones office. This thread is a rip off of that thread. Edited February 12, 2020 by CosmicBuffalo Foxwolfe

I feel exactly the same. They are completely pointless. You cannot see what buckles other players are wearing anyway. I just stick to 'no buckle' (which does give you a buckle) because I think it looks the best of the lot. gibsonteddyj
I think I have 25 buckles remaining to have them all. Of the 25 that I need, I'll estimate that 16-17 will be within reach with a little extra focus on the particular action needed to complete the buckle. The buckles that I would consider the most grindy thus far have been the 1,000 stranger missions and 1,000 miles by train. I have approx. 20 each of the first kill and last kill in a showdown series but those are the ones that I dread the most. I don't play PvP hardly any at all. On 2/17/2020 at 8:48 PM, CosmicBuffalo said: Canoer Buckler...not bad... 15 Buckles left to get. Congratulations on that buckle!!! No Homing
Yes, the first and last kill in a shootout award is the bane of my existence. It's basically stopping me from getting all buckles. That and being fed up with this game. CosmicBuffalo and Nerfgoth
gibsonteddyj
I forgot to mention in my original comment...I know of at least two of my belt buckle awards that are bugged and won't increment when I complete the action needed for gaining progress on the buckle. My "Make Camp Stews" had been stuck at 59/100 since about three weeks after the Frontier Pursuits Roles content was added. Also, my "Win Posse Versus Contests" has been stuck at 17/20 for about the same time as the camp stews. There might be others, just these two are the ones I have noticed. A friend of mine has 892. 1 hour ago, CosmicBuffalo said: The last kill is fairly easy if play gun rush. You can get the first kill pretty quick if you rush in gun rush as well. Yes, but I can't stand the PVP for the most part. And BR type modes are not my kind of mode. I did won a free aim GR in Rhodes once, but I don't think the last kill counted then. Carlin_Stanhope
Had fun this morning maxing out one of the hunter awards( has to do with killing multiple animals at the same time). Blew probably 200-250$ doing it with the fast traveling between Rhodes and back to lagras, and all the trips to the fence buying dynamite. Pretty funny boom stick fishing, but had 4 extra bars of gold out of it. P.s sorry to a couple people in lagras, who were trying to fish. I try to complete 7-10 per day. I'll proclaim it to the rooftops when I do finish it. Its been a grind thus far. I didn't think there would be a grind worse than 1,000 miles by train but I am leaning toward the stranger missions being more grindy. Edit: I have 911 complete...just now checked. If everything goes smooth, I'll have this buckle complete by this time next week. Edited June 30, 2020 by gibsonteddyj CosmicBuffalo

CosmicBuffalo
Congrats, @gibsonteddyj on being the first to achieve the 1,000 stranger mission buckle. What I do to post the pictures is use the camera in game, upload to social club, go to social club and copy the direct link, then paste in the response box, and it should automatically pop up. I am willing to bet you are indeed the first person to achieve this legit. As people usually are quick to take credit here...not that it is a bad thing, but this topic has been floating around for several months. There is also another belt buckle topic. We need some bragging rights in this game. People saying the buckles are ugly or pointless because you cant see them...yeah, thats true, but I can tell you right now, no one ever came to my ceo office in gtao and said hey thats a cool golden trophy on your desk...we all went for it to brag here because outside of hardcore players...no one cares. I think its awesome you did this, I am at around 800 myself. I will add any one else that does it for the foreseeable future. I saved an in-game snapshot when the notification popped, a wardrobe screen that shows the buckle being worn, a snap of the free roam progress screen golded out, and a video. I'll try to get the photo proof uploaded here as quick as I can. I'll have to dig around a bit on the share option on my ps4...seems like the only ones I recall to share to are YouTube, Community and maybe one or two others. Don't recall a Social Club option but that doesn't mean its not there and I'm overlooking it. I thought this might get a chuckle: I did 68 stranger missions yesterday to complete the award. Ghoffman9
Stranger missions proved to be aggravating cause the NPCs always give you a long winded speech before you could go on your way. Hearing their speeches the first few times was tolerable but for the 100th time, not so much. Bounties prove better as it immediately fires up and sends you on your way. Its the same pain I feel in some games where the cutscenes could not be skipped. Long scenes you have seen before but want to skip because you failed or died and got sent back to a previous point. The infamous fight with Yunalesca in Final Fantasy 10 for example comes to mind.
