Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a complete c*nt, the more people that can get into the game and Roles the better but it's a massive wad of sticky spit right in the eye of people who bought the Roles on release day or worked their asses off to buy them before or after. I don't fault anyone who gets the Roles for free I fault R* for spitting in the faces of their hardcore players. All it says to me is don't play the game for a while after a new Update and we will reward you. All it says to me is don't play the game for a while after a new Update and we will reward you. R* have pretty much adopted the attitude that those of us who actually play the game, accumulate some wealth and use said wealth to buy into content when it actually releases are basically paying a premium for early access and anyone who doesn't/won't/can't buy into the content, well, they'll get free access to it a few weeks down the line. That attitude f*cking reeks. Does the gold and cash cost make any significant dent in my resources? No. But that's not the point. Those of us who are actually playing the game shouldn't get shafted for buying into new content as it releases, especially as R* only release new content 3 or 4 times a year. Rockstar's move towards granting new players more gifts is to build on their fresh enthousiasme for this game and get friends to join them and buy RDR2 to be able to play online. Throw in some shiny and they'll be more eager to buy themselves in the rest too. It's a normal strategy, though. Happens in many games. The point I'm not too thrilled about is that the long term players pretty much get to be ignored when it comes to rewards and customer care in general. What's worse, for us, is that this strategy definitely seems to be working. The player list in every lobby I'm in is full of low ranks. I went on call for a Story mission yesterday for the Daily, I checked the player list for ranks as usual, just so I can get an idea of how much I'll have to do solo, the rank 17 (who, predictably, was absolute trash, causing 2 restarts because of dumb sh*t like jumping off the building during Destroyed by Grief) was head to toe in expensive new clothing. They obviously hadn't earned the cash for what they were wearing by rank 17, so it must have been bought with purchased Gold Bars. I wouldn't imagine that's rare either. I've seen a good few low ranked players in expensive or high rank clothing they could only have unlocked with gold bars, running around killing each other near my camp. No way a rank 17 can have farmed as many gold bars to unlock the items they were wearing. All fine, though. If they do so wish to spend RL money on it, so be it. The strategy has been working for many other games as well, but in most of those other games, long term players weren't forgotten or totally ignored. In this game, though........ where's the appreciation? Direwrath and kcole4001

Quite literally all I've done! My post office is so full of content it's unreal. Only rank 70-something and all I do is a couple of easy dailies and find 3 collectibles. I've even only sold 1 weekly and 1 full collection to that nutty mare, otherwise I just sell up when she's near St. Denis so I don't have to piss about finding out where she is. 300+ gold and 13.5k too. The gaming is just unfulfling besides a nice little wander around to me, as the map/world is genuinely awesome. So absorbing, but everything else is too shallow, comes with little choices, or is just broken. With Dan Houser leaving, I'm seriously believing this company wants my type gone and feel it'll only get worse (well, we've known for ages they see long term gamers as freeloading and a problem to solve, so it's a given that I and many true fans will be pushed out, lol). Nearly 18 months in and worse than beta but said to be doing better than GTA at this point. IMHO, R* have creatively peaked. Shoot, we know heists are coming, not that I dislike heists of course, but it's hardly new after 3 lots of heists in the last few years, I'm not excited to see this copy instead of break new ground like we know R* can. Those types of players are usually the ones that shoot me in the back as I'm riding away minding my own business too... Neither are me nor my dual sawed offs with explosive ammo impressed. I don't waste time or ammo on those imbeciles much.
