Horses head hanging low?

Recommended Posts

djb204

My Roadster has full bars, gold cores and it’s clean, but it’s head is still hanging low. What gives?

Gets on my tits as well. Same as when they throw their head about like you are spurring them at full speed when you are at a trot.

Mine did that last night, like he'd seen a snake or something, but there was no snake.

Pretty sure the Horse have a hidden "Tiredness" stat that when low makes them act like this and makes them unable to gallop. Pretty much time to Stable them and get another out. Would not surprise me if it's a R* tactic to get people sell Horses that do it because they think they are glitched and buy a new one.

Does bonding level affect this?

Happens to me sometimes as well, almost like he is sick or poisoned. No amount of food or tonics cures it and I've seen on more than one breed.

No idea, its just a guess. I have level 4 bonding with my Shire I bought in the first week of BETA and he still does it. Could also do with the horse being Malnourished but seeing as we dont have any warning when they are and have to go through two menus to find out its annoying.

Stable them for a while and use another Horse. Seems to fix it for me which is why I said about the Tiredness stat.

Mine are always well fed, I wait 'til they're down 1/4 at the most before feeding them wild carrots, so they should be over full if anything.

True, I always feed mine Wild Carrots to put their Stamina back up which also fills their health.

Like yours, we were travelling at a trot at the time.

Maybe he wants to go fast, at any rate, that's what we did.

Even on marked roads he will not gallop. Just a trot, he throws his head round and snorts and then when I stop his head droops. I am just hammering the f*cking button and he won't move. Its even worse when I go into Cinematic Mode and have him auto ride and come back to find out he's just been trotting and I have not left town yet.

Now that Is weird.

Mine would run pretty hard, he just seemed a little finicky about it, I assumed it's because we're not fully bonded yet.

Sorry, when I said he won't move I meant he won't gallop. Just a trot at most.

Do yo head hang low, do it wobble to-and-fro

can you tie it in a knot? Can you tie it in a bow?

Or mayhap it wonders about 42.

Setting it on fire is sometimes not enough. All it does is make it look like Neighd Wilson

Are you using spurs?

Horses will not gallop in towns when auto riding

Yes, I wear the same spurs I bought in week one from the BETA. Never take them off.

I know but my Horse wont gallop outside of towns when "The Droops" hit either. I only activate auto ride outside of towns so I down plough into wagons or people walking.

You know what you must try and do then. Take them off.

There were talk about spurs having negative effect on some horses in the early days.

(But there were also talk about different horse breeds having different speeds, and that was a load of bs.)

I will give it a try but I do honestly think that after alot of rough and tumble and hard riding the Horse just gets tired.

My Dappled Buckskin Norfolk Roadster is affected by this, it's annoying as he's my favourite horse, but he can have some time in the stables while my Tricolor gets a run out.

Red cores? Or a new bug?

It's head is hanging, won't go full speed, or at least doesn't seem to and it trips more easily.

I've tried my other 9 horses out and they all seem fine, so I'm just going to leave it in the stable for a week or something and see what happens.

I had this happen to my level 4 Silver Buckskin Standardbred last week, so I had to leave her in the stable too. Next time it happened was when I just got my new Roadster, the roan paint, and we got run over by a stage. She never recovered, head held low, stiff gait, very shaky when she was standing there, and she kept grumbling like she was ill even though I fed her gold oats and kept petting her, brushing her, and trying to make her happy. I stopped playing but the next day when I logged on she was just fine. Both horses had full cores when this happened, and two different levels, so this has to be some bug hitting the horses in game.

Sounds a lot like a variant of the red cores bug.

My friend and I were theorising a lot when our friend group started having red cores issues, us included. Our theory was that it was potentially caused by having all owned stables slots full and then discarding a horse and getting a new.

Might be just a coincidence, but since we got new slots, my friend and I kept one slot empty all the time and haven't gotten the bug, but a third friend who had all 10 slots full got it on one of the newer horses.

It can be just random when and how it happens, but I'm keeping that empty slot till something happens that proves me wrong, lol

I have nine full slots and just bought my tenth stable last week? Haven't filled the empty stall just yet, but this has happened ever since I bought my ninth horse so that actually makes a lot of sense. I did discard one of the horses I've had for months for the new Roadster, and had the problem nearly right out of the stable.
