Diamond Casino Heist Approach Elimination Game

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the Diamond Casino Heist Approach Elimination Game

The object of this is to pick a winner from the different approaches for the Diamond Casino Heist in GTA Online

The Rules:

● You add one point (+1) to your favorite approach and subtract two points (-2) which you can split (-1) (-1) for your least favorite(s).

● It isn't allowed to add and subtract from the same approach in one vote.

● You're only responsible for changing the score to reflect your vote, not the person before you.

● You can vote once per day (every 24 hours). You can do it after 21 hours minimum, but if it becomes a habit it will not be allowed.

● When we are down to the last three, you need to vote after 24 hours. Voting earlier than 24 hours is no longer an option at this point.

● Copy and paste the list from the last person before you. This helps out everyone to see what the scores are and we can prevent disinformation from spreading through the game.

● Do not use multiple accounts, this is not allowed and action will be taken if you are found to be doing this.

● Only vote in these games if you have been a forum member for two weeks at least. If the person above you hasn't been a member for at least two weeks, then you should ignore their vote.

● If the person before you votes wrong (not forgetting to write the correct scores, but doesn't vote as the first rule implies), you shall ignore that vote.

● If you are new to this game do as the regulars do. If you disagree; they are right, and you are wrong. Accept that or leave this thread.

● Please show what you voted for in your post, as a example:

Example #1:

1. Option one 38 (-2)

2. Option two 41 (+1)

Or

Example #2:

1. Option one 38

2. Option two 41

-2 Option one

+1 Option two

Good behavior rules - Please Read

● When quoting someone, remove the score from your post (if applicable).

● Avoid adding remarks about the choice you are voting for or against within the "Scoring Rows". Place it below your vote, as this will make it easier for the next person to vote.

● If you have already posted a vote you cannot change that vote and pick something else. Once it's published it's final.

● Opinions outside of the vote are allowed, but this should be done within reason.

● Cheating, manipulating scores and other deceptive attempts to derail the game is not allowed.

● Should you decide to disregard these rules and take matters into your own hands, you may face consequences from the Moderators.

● Trolling or antagonistic behavior will not be tolerated.

● If you think the list needs work or to be changed please make a suggestion, just don't take it upon yourself to change it.

● This is not the appropriate thread to hold a discussion about your disdain for the game, please post that in the other threads currently open.

I'm going to downvote "The Big Con" for now because it was the first one I did and my team messed it up multiple times, no-one knew how to hack and left it all to me, we died, died, died.... (say that in a redneck accent), didn't know where the cars were, people quit out... it was a total shambles.

I can't really decide... if I were to rank *individual playthroughs* then two Silent and Sneaky runs I did would be in my Top 5, including my very first one, figuring out how to get into the vault undetected, and one I did combining a helipad entry and roof exit without detection until the police station roof. The other two would be the maintenance workers and Yung Ancestor superfans disguises, which are also very satisfying to complete undetected (maintenance also involved an escape on Manchez bikes in the snow, before I knew about the heli). Finally I'd include my first playthrough of the Aggressive approach for the elite challenge. All of these were done with friends of course, else they wouldn't have been fun experiences.

But in general I've played Big Con with Gruppe 6 disguise and Aggressive with sewer entry the most, just for convenience. If I were forced to repeat one approach 10 times it would be Aggressive with sewer entry, sawed-off shotguns and no armor. Quick and fun with still a bit of a challenge.

So I don't really know; I like all of them. This might be my only vote.

- to Silent And Sneaky

+ to Aggressive

Aggressive is the best for playing with randumbs. I've done this with under level 30 randoms with reinforced armor and no deaths plus no hacking. The big con is great but everytime I have done it we have had to shoot our way out because randumbs stay in the vault too long and alert the guards. I've done silent and sneaky once with a lot of deaths and people quitting and we never make it past the first 2 guards and a couple of time haven't even made it past the metal detectors if I didn't shoot it with my stun gun in time.

Silent and sneaky can go to hell.

Yellow Dog with Cone

1. Silent And Sneaky - 40 (-2)
2. The Big Con - 47 (+1)
3. Aggressive - 52

Silent and Sneaky (-2) isn't bad per se, but the shoddy stealth mechanics on this game make it way harder than what it should be.

The Big Con (+1) feels like a proper heist and it offers the most options entrance wise, although Gruppe Sechs is superior to most of them anyway.

Aggressive is great with randoms, but the other 2 become aggressive too if come one fails to pay attention so it's nothing special IMO. Silent and Sneaky is a bit buggy but fun to work out a good approach in the casino, but The Big Con is so chilled and relaxing. Easy elites too.

Regardless which wins though, this heist is great and it's what the others should be with how flexible we can approach them. That's the real win for me. :)

I like the scenes of the explosions in Agressive but I alternate between SS and TBC.

Haven't played an elimination game in a while because I haven’t had much time to play GTA O - but for a new heist, I had to make the time! I enjoy all the approaches, the variety is part of the appeal, but there’s something about the style of the Big Con I just like.

That bloody plastic explosives prep. Is there really no way to get those things from the sea bottom undetected?

edit: I know you can just use a weaponized vehicle to get it done quickly, my real issue is that as soon as I touch a crate they instantly know where I am, even though I got to the crate undetected, using my own scuba gear. Did they really script detection on pick up?

I also alternate between S&S and TBC. More time in vault, especially with friends who don't mind a quick restart if the alarm goes off. I only do aggressive when I get Artwork.

As for silent&sneaky, I like the concept, but I don't like this game's implementation of stealth in general. And I never use the drone.

I think Big Con is the best because it gives you the most options.

Stromberg is your solution.

Quicker to park a broomstick on nearby rocks/up the ladder

I am only downvoting sneaky because I suck at it...I can’t be the only one though.

I don’t use a mic anymore...it might be one big reason why sns is so tricky...counting like deliver emp would work I guess...

Thanks. I had already figured that out, I just with there was a way to finish it undetected. I guess I'm not allowed to do it sneaky because I'm setting up for aggressive, lol.

Do the guards guns still sometimes fire when they drop them in the heist? I've had that happen a lot in freeroam mission and have even been shot by them before.

I don't think so I have always been detected no matter what. My votes are just going by the finale but if I included preps I would consider downvoting aggressive just for this prep. I've tried with a lot of different ways even buying a Sea Sparrow but still haven't found a great way to do it. This mission does need to be changed I once did it undetected but as I was getting into my Sea Sparrow I died and when I finally got the first one my Sea Sparrow died on my way back to get the second one because of those stupid enemy Buzzards.

I tried that once but couldn't get out of the ocean afterwards. Might have been me being an idiot or that I never spending time around the water though.

I love getting that mission at Banning...you don’t even need scuba gear just jump straight in and park your broomstick up the very close ladder...takes no time to get away before they spawn and then when you come back take out all the waves...there is nowhere to drive a Stromberg up either so it would take forever in one driving round to Vespucci beach...

Yes, if they see you before you shoot them, their gun might go off, because they were preparing to shoot at you.

I vote based on the whole package. I think Aggressive finale is pretty fun, but this prep gives me headache. If I think I can get out undetected, I want to get out undetected.

Right now, I can get to the explosives undetected every single time, but as soon as I touch one, all hell breaks loose.

I guess that was the autodetect on pickup. Maybe they should change the mission to make it clear you can't get out undetected.

You mean you got the plastic explosives back to the arcade undetected? Or did you still get detected on your way out after picking them up?

I always get detected when I'm about halfway down in the ocean so when I finally get to the surface it only takes a couple of bullets for me to die.

I'm so getting on board with that since I have even created a topic for that in the subforum. The big con will win, that's pretty clear, but I'm on board with the aggressive. Why? Because there's a lot of shooting involved and shooting is okay in this game. Some preps will require a lot of flexibility and proper positioning, but I have no complaints. But let's not forget about the outfits: Silent and sneaky allows us to get unique stuff, as well as Big Con, while aggressive is clearly an outsider with a regular clothes mashed up. By the sum of the parts, Big Con is a winner.

Now why I don't like Stealth: well, it's broken. It's binary and you can get used to that, but it's not that funny. Only good for the outfits, IMO. I just can't advocate these bad game mechanics and improper execution, that's why it will get -2 from me. The idea behind it is great, but the game is not up to a task.

My main complaint is that these modes can't be soloed. Even more sophisticated things from Hitman can be done solo, and 2+ player requirement is artificial. Especially, in stealth approach, you literally don't need anyone there apart from activating the damn lock.

Sneaky's taken an awfully big hit, stealthy is always fun, but broken.

Unless the mission is in Banning, then I think the Seabreeze is the quickest way to do it, equipping a scuba suit beforehand, but also the heli hovering over the target area needs to be hit with a bombing strafe on the initial approach, else it's going to fly around and do too much damage. After picking up the explosives, I swim to the surface and quickly take off, eating snacks so the newly spawned Buzzards don't kill me inside the plane. They shouldn't do too much damage to the plane itself though and allow for two runs when solo.

Seabreeze is what I was using. I don't know why I was saying Sea Sparrow. The one time I used the Seabreeze it took so much damage from the newly spawned Buzzards it died over the ocean and I had to call MW for a boat pick up. I'll try it again next time I do the heist and hopefully I just got unlucky that time. With 2x VIP work it's going to be a week before I do it again though I really need money on my second account.

Ah, I see. I probably wouldn't have bought it just for this mission, as you can also dive for one explosive and drop it on land, then dive for the other and bring both to the arcade in a heli or Mk 2. But I'm a fan of the Seabreeze in general; in fact I bought it before I even had a car collection: https://prod.hosted.cloud.rockstargames.com/ugc/gta5photo/ppIujZKmLU-irM_mrmhH9A_0_0.jpg
