The Time Ranger
This is a thread for those shows ended before their time, maybe cancelled due to low viewers or budget cuts, quality shows that you miss which deserved to continue on. Here are some of mine. Quarry This centred around a returning Vietnam vet who is roped into becoming a hitman for hire for the mysterious broker. It's a pulpy thrill ride which grips you and doesn't let go. It ended after one series but I would still recommend it, there is a Vietnam flashback episode which is particuraly harrowing that I still remember. Cinemax have been making some great underrated shows the last few years such as this and Banshee. This is a show that was an engrossing watch and had great potential, a real shame it was cancelled. Blood Drive This grindhouse effort is gory, trashy, and most importantly, damn fun watching. It kept me hooked from the very first scene, which i'l link below. A unique concept which I really enjoyed, it kept getting bigger and bolder every episode, well worth a watch. It courted some controversy for it's content due to to it airing on the syfy channel and middle America getting their knickers in a twist, but f*ck them, I just wish the SyFy channel had the stones to grant another season. But such is life. It's a crying shame these weren't picked up for a second series, Even though there are relatively recent shows I think they would have thrived on a streaming service rather than on cable and basic cable respectively. Firefly was great, and I feel like it was just slightly before it’s time. A year later and we could’ve had 10 seasons. I was just thinking about a show that I really liked and never really got a chance. The Good Guys starring Bradley Whitford and Colin Hanks. Kind of a cross between Lethal Weapon (the show), Psych, and My Name is Earl. Another one that I feel was just slightly ahead of it’s time. Lonely-Martin
Deadwood for me, though we got a belated follow up, that show did end leaving me wanting more after the 3 seasons. And a good shout with My Name Is Earl, loved that show. So laugh out loud funny but with great heart too. Randy slayed me too often and some great guest stars having fun. XxElBigMex913xX
Quarry had the best one shot action sequences I ever seen compared to True Detective Season 1. If it was on HBO, it would've been still existed too bad it didn't/
Mister Pink
Heard great things about Deadwood but only ever watched the first episode. Should give it a go again. Another HBO show that comes to mind... Bored to Death. Think I made a topic on it. Lonely-Martin 1 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 𝙽𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙿

Should give it a go again. I can't recommend it enough, it's one of my favourite shows along with The Sopranos and Broadwalk and it's probably the show I've re-watched the most too outside The Simpsons/Family Guy through habit. (But a nice habit, lol). It's so full of character, and I don't know how much you know and like to let folk learn without spoilers, but it was more based on real people of the town at the time and some quite famous names passed through Deadwood back then. Though as with anything, a bit loose with some facts naturally. Ian McShane is on fire, as is many in supporting roles like Timothy Olyphant, Paula Malcomson and Powers Boothe, some really funny moments in there too, but nothing to say it's a comedy of course. It's a strong one though, got a rough and dirty/gritty ferl in places and it's not for all which I can understand some content being off-putting. I'd say it's as daring as it could be for the time it was on though, blimey. For me, the show doesn't age, but for new eyes it'd be interesting to read a newer viewers thoughts, if you do, hope you enjoy. GAUNTLET HELLFIRE
Death Valley. A funny MTV show that was cancelled after just 12 episodes. I rewatched Blow with Johnny Depp 2 nights back, bloody hell Ethan Suplee (Randy) was a big man back then! Wow. I think he was equally as big in American History X but need a re-watch to see, lol. Glad he lost a few pounds though. Edited February 9, 2020 by Lonely-Martin Mister Pink
Ivan1997GTA
Moonbeam City. It was similar to Archer, but with a police setting instead of spy agencies and with an 80's aesthetic, complete with stylish character designs inspired by Patrick Nagel. Shame it only lasted one season and 10 episodes. This show was different from other animated Comedy Central shows, which just copied the South Park formula and called it a day. The way I would describe Moonbeam City is that it's kinda like Reno 911! and Miami Vice with humor and character personalities inspired by Archer. Honestly, I think Comedy Central should've given Moonbeam City a second season rather than something like Legends of Chamberlain Heights.

Guest
Flashforward Quote After the entire world's population blacks out for approximately two minutes and seventeen seconds, an elite FBI task force is formed to investigate what caused the global blackout. Never has such a cool concept been wasted so much. The first season was fun, and then they ended on a huge cliff hanger. Would love for Netflix to take the concept and produce a reboot. This is a show deserving of being rebooted, with better actors, although I enjoyed Dominic Monaghan from memory. The Time Ranger
@Mister Pink Cool, I hope you enjoy it, it's criminally underrated imo, just like the main actor, Logan Marshall Greene. I binged it all in two nights, was a good time. Mister Pink

Awful Waffle
clearly it's already been mentioned but bears repeating and deserves every good word that is said about it. Deadwood is - in addition to being one of the top 5 best dramas ever made - without a doubt the best show that ended too soon. it's quintessential premium TV in the ranks of Sopranos, The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, Oz, and Rome. even among this crowd Deadwood stands out for its writing, set building, costume design, and overall attention to detail. it's virtually flawless and unforgettable. arguably one of the most intense and violent scenes from Deadwood was also used as a direct inspiration for a significant mission featured in Red Dead Redemption 2, but I won't post it here, lest anyone plans to watch the show. I wouldn't want to spoil it. and since it's already been mentioned... let's now forget about it. my next best submission for gone-too-soon would be Fastlane. little cheesy. little corny. awesome in every way. sort of like Fast and the Furious but without the global nuclear terrorist angle. it was a buddy cop show about these undercover detectives who were provided an arsenal of supercars they used to ingratiate themselves into high level crime syndicates. they had this smoking hot supervisor played by Kelly Kapowski herself; Tiffani Amber Thiessen.
