Adding Extra Cop&Swat Ped in Vice City

First and foremost, this isn't exactly a request, but rather a suggestion. Further down the line, it could be regarded as an inquiry of sorts as well.

So basically, I've been trying to add another Cop and Swat ped - Beta models - into Vice City without any luck - not replacing the existing ones. Simply adding those .dff&txd models into the game - whether directly to gta3.img through Img tool or indirectly through Modloader doesn't make any difference. Of course, along side of that, default.ide has been edited with correct and unused - free - ID number, but nothing changes. Could be that something was simply left undone, which I have no clue about, but it is almost certain that Police forces require different approach when it comes to adding them into the game, probably due to the fact they are hardcoded inside the .exe file, unlike other regular peds.

It is a bit strange seeing almost no info in regards to this interesting matter, no mods script, or plugins for it anywhere. My limited modding knowledge doesn't reach that far, but I would think something similar to mod Ped Tweaks in GTA SA is needed to enable us to have those extra police peds.

If anyone is knowledgeable enough in this particular matter, it would be highly appreciated sharing some information on how things work in the background or how to even get started with this, if it is possible in the first place.

If, on the other hand, someone is interested in making a mod that would allow us to have extra cop and swat peds, I am more than willing to provide any help necessary.

Many thanks in advance!

If you already add new model IDs in the default.ide and gta3.img files, you can try
Wanted Level Editor
Just make sure your added peds actually spawn normaly before using it.

Hi @Jack ! Thanks for reaching out to me! Sadly I didn't have any luck with using your awesome mod. After simply extracting both files from WLE either to my game folder, Cleo or Scripts folder, the mod wouldn't initiate after pressing dedicated buttons you mentioned in WLE thread.

The menu described there is for San Andreas only.
For Vice City you need to open the xml file and manually edit model IDs and the other stuff (do not forget to save after you make changes).
Also extract mod files (xml and asi) to the game directory - not some place else.
And make sure you use the Vice City version of the mod.

I really appreciate the time and effort @Jack ! Thank you so much for your help, but obviously it requires too much of my time and savviness as well for the mod that is simply too broad for my needs. I'm convinced the mod itself is pure awesomeness, regardless, judging by the videos I saw. Cheers friend!
