bounty ranking

Been doing bounties and not ranking up. Am i doing something wrong?

Check your point progress in the bounty role a little more closely using the Pause > Progress > Roles menu. Make sure you get at least something from completing bounties.

A common mistake is rushing through the bounty mission. You get the most points per mission after 9 minutes of total mission time, it's still pretty good at the 12 minute mark, but if it taked much more than 15 minutes then you are definitely better off finishing and starting another bounty. Set a timer when the mission start sound plays and destination shown, and hunt or work on collections on the way to the bounty. If you arrive that the location about 5 minutes into the mission then you probably won't need to delay much on the way to the jail.

It's been a long time since I've earned any bounty points, but I'm pretty sure I was earning about 300 to 400 bounty points per bounty. At the time I was following the 2 min left on the clock strategy, which was much less consistent than the total time strategy. I'd be curious to learn if you get more consistent results.

IIRC, it didn't seem to matter if they were alive or dead, how many targets, or the level of the bounty. Mission time seemed the most dominant factor. These factors seem to have more of an impact on the cash reward.

I've checked my point progress it remains at 0/2000XP i have tried waiting until 30 secs to complete, no change. I think it's glitching out on me, i dunno how to get it going without trying to delete character and start new one and see if that works

There's a discussion in this topic on steam about this issue. Apparently there is a common glitch related to getting the license for free. At the end of the topic people have reported that Rockstar support has fixed the issue after a long wait and persistence with support tickets.
