this should give you a solo lobby. lobby fills after the timer ends. worked for me yesterday.

 

The method I posted only seems to work for the bounties that have you go to a search area. The timer for those don't start until you go to the area afaik. The only downside is you can't use eagle eye to spot animals.

This issue seriously needs to be fixed already. After getting instanced with a friend from doing some moonshiner work in Tall Trees, I came across 3 random events, a couple bears, a cougar, and plenty of frolicking animals in the course of 10 minutes. Not long after, we merged with another lobby and it became dead again. When this game is working as intended it is so much more enjoyable.

Some bounty missions sadly don’t let you skin animals or call the hunting wagon....

Was up on the snowy mountains looking for collectables and noticed tons of wild life. Did they just fixed the issue or was the area empty of players and npcs?

Usually when I'm up in the mountains I'll see deer, elk, and ram regardless of player count. How many people were in your session at the time?

This is the reality.. Most players don't know where to go to hunt.. They expect all the wild life to spawn outside of their camp...

And wild life would spawn outside the camp, if game run like it should be ;)

Bottom line is, some people just started playing this game, others have been playing from the beginning.

 

If you played from the beginning, you know how the animals were plentiful and supported the 23 players on the server.

 

If you play in a normal session...then play in a glitched solo session...it's easy to see the difference.

 

The game is broken.

Unpopular opinion, but I wouldn't mind if rockstar's quick fix to this would be to cap the players at 16 per session.

I don't think that'll necessarily work as a quick fix. the problem seems to be getting worse for me over the last 24-36 hours. I've been in an instance with 15 players in for the last 40 minutes and I haven't seen a large animal spawn once.

15 or 16 seems to be the max for me where the minimum amount of animals spawn. The ideal number of players is around 14 and less. The quick fix I proposed would be the "worst case". The best would be implementing invite only sessions. However the most realistic is Rockstar just fixes this with the next update (hopefully).

Other than bad PR (which they seem impervious to) they have too much to gain from stifling player time and preventing them from making money.

That's what I'm afraid of as well. Though hunting isn't as profitable as it used to be, it was a nice change of pace from Collecting and Bounty Hunting. It also makes me feel like the Trader role was a waste of gold.

And it does...when I'm riding into my camp with horse full of carcasses and dragging another.

I'm often confronted with between 3-5 deer whose heads pop up, they stare at me for a moment, then bolt off long before I could organize any form of weapon to take one of them out. :/

OrionSR did a list of the legendaries, what works and what doesn't.

These are the ones that work normally and allow hunting wagon to be called:

 

Philip Carlier      *  Lagras     * Always night; good for predators. Cooking is disabled

Cecil C. Tucker     *  Fort Brennard     *  Running clock at 10:40 PM. No predators.
"Yukon" Nik         *  Fort Riggs        *  Running clock at 7:00 AM. No predators.
Barbarella Alcazar  *  Gaptooth Ridge    *  Running clock at 5:00 PM. No predators.
The Owlhoot Family  *  Benedict Pass     *  Running clock at 3:40 PM. No predators.
Red Ben Clempson    *  Gaptooth Ridge    *  Running clock at 5:00 PM. No predators.
