Reloading Speed Tweaker

 

Hey everyone, Mysterdogg here! My main inspiration for this mod came from the PS2/Xbox game "Black" where no matter how many enemies you were facing, the character always reloaded in a so relaxed way that it turned into a joke. This behavior was and is still present in most games so I decided to fix it in GTA SA: CJ will now reload faster under certain conditions!

Haha, great game to take inspiration from, never ever experienced a FPS again on that kind of level, still my favourite till this day!

 

I'll be checking this out soon, maybe add gangwars to it as well?

@LaDiDa, yeah! Black was absolutely a PS2 masterpiece, Criterion Games really pushed the limits of the console with it.

 

I will give it a try to gang wars as I intend to extend the features of this mod (...) it all depends on the reception and support of the players 😉

UPDATE!

v1.1.0:

 

As @LaDiDa first requested it, R.S.T. now comes with:

.-gang wars compatibility. 

 

I've also made a complementary mod for testing porpuses called "Gang Wars Anytime" (Self-explained name).

Everything works as expected. :)  Works nice with customised gunplay

 

My suggestions:

New conditions: On Mission, Low Health

More settings in .ini file:

Enable=0/1

EnableMasterKey=0/1

ConditionGangwars=0/1

ConditionWanted=0/1

etc.

Thanks for the feedback, @Esquisito! about the suggestions, let's check them:

 

-New conditions:

.- "On mission" & "Low health" consider it done! will see if there are any other conditions to be added. 

-More settings in INI file:

.- "Enable" and "Enable Master key" would be redundant as the current masterkey has the function to enable/disable the whole script. Perhaps adding the option to toggle it in-game could be better. 

.- "ConditionGangWars" & "ConditionWanted" could be useful too. Will evaluate the addition of a toggle option for every condition.

For enabling whole mod and master key i meant to free used key. I don't have currently any reason i would need to disable it in game. Maybe make it use Debug Menu

I intend to keep this project as a native feature of the game, @Esquisito 😉 and as with the default game features, the player has little control over them. Most are activated under certain conditions. Just as I did it with RST.

UPDATE!

v1.2.0:

 

-As requested by @Esquisito, R.S.T. now comes with:

.-Extended INI settings.

.-In Mission compatibility.

.-Low Health compatibility.

-The script has also been remade into:

.-Extended Added Weapons compatibility. 

 

*Since this version, the script now requires CLEO + in order to work*

@Mysterdogg: I really like this mod. Now I'd hate to pop your bubble here but, uh- SA already does feature the "SET_PLAYER_FAST_RELOAD" (0x0331) opcode from VC. While this unused opcode does make the player's current weapon be instantly reloaded, the game doesn't seem to skip the reloading animation. So yeah, your mod still has a good degree of usefulness.

Well, as far as I know, opcode 0331 forces the "fast reload" flag present inside the weapon.dat file, which makes the player skip the reloading anim as with the minigun & country rifle. Will check it anyway to clear any doubts, @Staunton Assassin;)

No, what I meant was that this opcode somewhat reduces the usefulness of your mod. But seeing as this opcode is broken as well as unused, your mod is still very good.:)
