It used to take weeks to make a million dollars. Now, a new player can potentially do that in a (long) day. I

don't understand how I'm getting kickback on this.

Proof

Now, attention, that's original mission and can be done without helicopters, MK2s and other stuff. By low ranks in 4 minutes. By the way, after 1.14 regress-pay was introduced aka communism: the longer you will spend on a mission, the "better" will be payout. Also, pay attention that it was on hard and 13 enemies were killed. Now it's going to be 20+ I will post soon.

Now find me the contact mission that pays the same without 2x. No matter what you do the amount you can make per hour is around 300k. Contact missions were nerfed and various paywall businesses were introduced together with cooldowns on everything.  They don't want players doing these activities, they want players in freemode doing the cutthroat 'business'. If you're a day one player, that's a reminder.

Headhunter 2m30s average 20.5k vs Trash Talk 15min 23k

If I play it in speed mod using Hakuchou and Savage I get paid like 11 543$ and 32 cents

Now here I am doing a Rooftop rumble solo during 2x in 4 minutes (sweet spot for the payout).

I haven't killed all the enemies, it should be around 26 with the second car I've skipped.

So... twice the amount of enemies, 50% of cash and RP unless it's 2x. Hell, it's not even 25k now.

I always thought the objective (the getaway car) only spawns after all the enemies are dead, or is it just always sitting in the back alley?

Originally the case/car was in the parking garage.  You would spawn in run to the bushes along the building and lob or shoot a grenade through the opening to blow up the objective - mission passed.   It was changed to what we have now after players got rich using the replay option.   Now the car/case spawns in after you kill all the enemies in the garage and the cars that come in to the alley. If you want to waste some time the objective drives out to the “cement factory?” To the north.

Not really. You only need a few decent weapons, GTA is not the most balanced game, so most weapons are completely useless.

Never do promoting missions - switch DJ  instead to increase popularity by paing $10k. And yes, you will still gain profit even if you pay.

Technically, not actually level 1. If the new player experience hasn't changed, you still have to complete (a certain race?, it's been awhile). By the time you get the small amount of $$$ you need to register, you're at least rank 2 or 3.

I don't think this actually works, both times I switched DJs, popularity was still 0. Promotion missions are way better now than when they first came out.

It should work. 10% popularity (half a bar) for re-hiring a DJ.

Any vehicle you have to buy and can't steal off the street is supposed to take work. With a million dollars you can pick any car from over half the ones available. If you're complaining about not being able to afford a multi-million dollar car, or multiple expensive cars, I have no sympathy for you.

Sometimes it does not work, if you stay on the computer and switch DJs severeal times. Go to a basement computer, switch DJ exit computer, enter computer switch DJ ... and so on.
Popularity missions are buffed to give 25% now, so with 4 missions you get a full bar, not too bad, I guess. Ususally I do one mission every 3 to 4 hours (when the bar lost about 20-25%).

Some tips from me:
* imo the best advice here still was to make friends. Every repetitive grind is boring, so even the grinds become more divers when you have friends.
* in the beginning focus on getting the armored kuruma (do fleeca job to get the trade price) and the buzzard.
* Only buy stuff you really want and only when it is on sale ... if you can suppress the urge ;)
* never buy anything on tuesdays or wednesdays if it is not on sale. Sales switch on thursdays between  9:00 and 10:00 UTC

* And almost every week some activity is 2x$, so this is a good opportunity to find out what aspect of the game is most fun. Even take part in it if you are underdog in some stock vehicle, in the end you find out if you like the concept, and if you want to spent mony on the equipment for it
* Steal a streetcar every 48 minutes and sell it at LSC (baller is quite common and gives ~9000, some tuned npc cars spawn at specific locations and give 12-19k, google it), in my first time I bought a cheap appartement new eclipse towser and filled it up with yellow and blue sentinel xs and then sold one every 48 minutes.
* If you already have businesses, shut them down for now (except the bunker), so they won't cost you money besides the regular 50$ property tax
* Only register as CEO od MC president if you need to. If you are not registered as such, no business will charge you the daily fees.
* Don't destroy other players cars, it will charge you an insurance fee, which can go up to 20k for high end cars.
* Don't trust the game and the game makers ... the game has no tutorial function proposing what to do next, it all is advertising only. They want you to spent your money on stuff you don't need, so for now just ignore the black box popping up on the top left, and ignore all the npc people calling you with some "great proposals" ;)
* Did i mention: MAKE FRIENDS :D

When it comes to businesses: don't even bother about anything but bunker or I/E warehouse unless you have enough money to buy and upgrade a coke business right away.
But it is not true, that they don't get you lots of money, you just need to be a special sort of player to make much money from it, but they pay very well ... later ... when you really are settled in the game and when you make the right friends. I make all my millions from businesses, since they are working passivley while I do stuff in the game I like.

with contact missions on double this week you need about four hours of playing them to earn a million.

do it twice to buy a buzzard.

play some vip jobs + modes which are curently on double

purchase a  bunker

youll fine for the rest of your GTA Life

25% + for your popularity

if you keep it high the promo missions are a cash cow as you loose only 5 % of popularity every in-game day

so it means:

day 1: 10.000

day 2: 10.000

day 3:  9.000

day 4:  8.000

collect the money ( 37.000 from the safe) and do another promo mission

best payout for doing one fecking 5 minutes mission every 4 in-game days

That's weird because I have made a bunch of money off NC popularity and I never had this issue.

Depends... I sometimes do promo missions at 75% (5 GTA days, $44k in vault).

Usually I don't though. Then I either let it run down to 70% ($50k in vault), re-hire DJs 3 times, and pick up the money at the NC.

Or I let it run down to 80% ($37k in vault), re-hire DJs 2 times through the master control terminal, then let it run down to 80% again ($70k in vault), re-hire DJs 2 times, and pick up the money at the NC.

I do whatever I'm in the mood for at the time. What I don't do though is NC promo after 80%. 😉

Had it in the beginning a couple of times, so I started to exit the computer after each DJ switch and never had it again. Can't say if it is still an issue or if it maybe was an observation fault ;)
But hell yeah, I made a serious amount of money from the NC populartity.

I'm doing it daily, it works. The popularity is updated when you log off from your Nightclub computer. You won't see the increase of popularity while being logged, but it's the visual issue.

Are you guys seriously discussing popularity missions for NC that can get you 45k tops when you can AFK a Fortified for 31k? These missions are only good for gameplay, not for money.

IMO manipulating NC popularity is on par with trying to buy the cheapest ammo for your guns, ridiculous.

Of course Glitching > AFKing > anything else in terms of $/effort.

1st for fortified, you need that really expensive and useless Van, 2nd 20 minutes for 31k ... in 30 minutes you easily can get about 100k (even repeating the cathouse mission if you have a chopper or can steal one will give you 30k in 15 minutes)  ... Sure it is not afk then. Afk is ok, when you are ... Afk for phone, lunch, whatever, but grinding afk is pointless unless you do it automated and repetitive.

It's 10 minutes and after playing the mission 74 times the van will pay for itself. Not a bad investment for AFK money, if you are playing long. Hell, you can get your ROI in 2 weeks if you play daily.

You're right, 10 minutes, but 30 minutes cooldown. And 2.9 Mio for the boxville, trade price 2.2Mio but then you need the vehicle warehouse and do the mission ... those paywalls are really high for new players. 74 times * ~40 minutes = ~50 hours of "play time" ... and you can't use "play" and "afk" in one sentence if it should make any sense ;)

What you propose is: Just buy this stuff for ~3Mio and after ~60hours of AFK running you are where you were before buying this stuff. just add another 60hours and you'll have earned 3 million ... wow ... if you calculate the power consumption (>60 kwh for 120 hours) and the aging of the graphics card and CPU running on high power and high heat, you better go and buy shark cards. If you play the game for 120 hours you'll end up with way more then 3 million in profit with little invest and ... you actually PLAYED the game then ;)

In GTA wasting time why "playing" and making money makes all the sense in the world. Vehicle warehouse unlocks one of the best money making opportunities in this game: I/E and should be purchased ASAP. My recommendation should not be perceived out of context, as you just did. If new players are stupid enough to waste their life while grinding money in this game, Fortified is a nice earner, as soon as you're set with businesses, much better than the Nightclub.

If you're grinding in the long run, these AFK earners are great. Nightclub is for established players with all of the businesses purchased, while this little van may actually quietly pay for itself while you're taking a small break from the game. If you don't understand it, I'm not sure you're wasted enough time grinding Online.

26 minutes ago, Draugnar said:

What I actually propose, is don't do Club promo missions, because it's ridiculous as a money maker. If you own NC, you may as well get the van too.

By the way, check your math. 10 minutes X 74 = 740 minutes, while the cooldown should not be included in the calculations by all means: you can actually PLAY the game while cooldown is active and do the cash via IE/ Bunker sales/ VIP work. 740 minutes is barely 12 hours of playtime.

All this going from playing the game for 6 years and doing a lot of math and research, participating in various grinding crews (where the van is pretty much obligatory because people run VIP worr in shifts, etc, etc).

P.S. Want to see my real advice? Check the earlier pages.

That was not my intention :)

I use fortified by myself when I go afk (when I need to), that's what I said earlier: using afk when you occasionally go afk it reasonable, but using it as a primary money method is sort of a miscalculation.

And believe me, with over 2000 hours of playtime and ~500Mio earned I wasted enough time on grinding ;)

Ultimately you all make good points.

There are many ways to make money in this game but to make money requires two distinct features that sets apart from all else.

startup capital and knowledge.

the reason I say this is without the tools for the job and the understanding of how to use them you’re going to struggle.

I find it easy to make money given I have both...Rockstar hates players like me though and players like the OP are exactly who they want playing this game.

I keep getting ever more ridiculous JFY offers for sharkcards...I know how little that money would buy firstly and that I can make that much money playing the game over an extended period of time.

New younger players who don’t understand the value of money are their target as they will buy them for 60 quid...it’s madness but Rockstar wants those players.
