Click the MISC tab on PCSX2 and select "Show Console", then when booting any game it'll start to list what it's doing, one of the first things you'll see is something like this: (SYSTEM.CNF) Detected PS2 Disc = cdrom0:\SLUS_215.90;1 (SYSTEM.CNF) Software version = 1.00 (SYSTEM.CNF) Disc region type = NTSC Ahmedmfroezspeed 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/943822-ntsc-or-pal/#findComment-1071079319 Share on other sites

Easiest way to tell is the framerate. 50fps = PAL 60fps = NTSC PAL is easier to emulate on PCSX2. Not exactly easier, but you really shouldn't be using PAL* versions if you have an NTSC copy around for basis of frame pacing will be broken on the PAL versions, forcing 50Hz to 60Hz isn't a wise thing to do where as the game already being formatted for 60Hz allows it to still playback properly on screens today. *There were very few games in the PAL region that allowed PAL60 and Progressive Scan which work fine with emulation today, but finding those games is a bit rare and sadly none of the GTA games supported the formats. Garpown
The best way to know is either by opening the ISO and checking if it says SLUS (NTSC) or SLES (PAL) or, go ingame and see if there are language options. The framerate number on top isn't correct. When it displays 50, it's actually 25FPS, if it's 60 it's actually 30FPS. Basically divide by 2. If you have the PAL version, open PCSX2, go to Config<Emulation Settings and disable presets at the bottom, left corner. Then go to the "ini" folder in your PCSX2 root, open PCSX2_vm.ini, search for "FrameratePAL=50.00" and change the value to 59.94 like the NTSC version. If you have a beastly CPU you can change it to 120 which is the real 60fps. The intro vids shake a little bit but other than that it works great.
