NEW CLOTHING NOW IN STORES AND BONUSES FOR MOONSHINERS (January 7th)

I dunno but i got my camp set up in Great plains and was about to log off and i heard some one shooting and screaming in the near distance, so i ran up to it with my Springfield in hand and some npc was attacked by a cougar, so i tink i help him out, the cougar spotted me and came at me so i put a round between his eyes..., he turns back and runs away ?! i was like huh ? wtf ?! so i wanted to chase it and in that second i got jumped by a 2nd cougar !!! scared the living crap out of me ! i was able to get him off me and and shoot him twice but he turns and ran away too and BAM ! the first cougar was back and got me again, and again i could shake him off and shot him  and BLAM the second cougar got me and killed me...

 

After respawning i ran back and there was only 1 left that i shot and killed by emptying my duall wield Navy and Lematt, end of story...

Is this new ? never encountered this before but my heart is still pumpin turbo speed hahahha

It does sound new, and if R* do/are popping in more and more random scenarios like that, that'll be great to see grow.

 

And I know what you mean about being made to jump when the game sucks us into something too, bloody awesome that, lol. I've had a hood few times I've flinched when something jumps out. One time I was hunting in the swamp and a goat came and nudged me over, lol. Such a great map and atmosphere at times.

At times yeah...,, when they fix the animal spawn problem, i was alone in the session when this happened and the map becomes very lively then.

Really hate it R* doesn't do anything about it and stays silent atm.

Yeah, it's just frustrating knowing we have to wait for new DLC content to get a quarterly game fix.

 

I was positive with the patches we did get here and there but that seems to have slowed. Hopefully they'll start again now the holidays are over.

The NW didn't say "any", it said "and a free Kladruber Horse of their choice". I get what you mean though, but I knew it wasn't going to be a $950 one, like they'd ever do that.

Oh, that's why the discount wasn't showing. I thought it was medium strength or better, I've only been selling the good stuff lol. 

 

And whoever writes these things needs to work on their grammar a little. The voucher says:

I think I would have put something like 'for free' instead of 'of your choice'.

Logged in today and got a message saying I had been gifted 10 gold bars but they haven't been added. 

And another message after that to tell me I had been gifted something, but I can't find anything new anywhere.

Not for the gold, but I got two. I think one was for the Kelley Boots and one for the Leavitt coat. And what an appropriate name, "Leavitt" right in fkn storage.

Lol that's about right.

I hate the 'you have been gifted a reward' messages. Why can't they just say what it is?! 

 

I got the Kelley Boots yesterday (green colour?), but the Leavitt Jacket isn't in my wardrobe. 

Then again, I didn't get the gold either, so I don't know. 

If it's just the jacket though, I think I'll Leavitt.

I think they're was a moonshiner XP voucher also. The coat is a PS Plus reward I think. One of the messages I got was about PS Plus I believe.

Not sure if it was one of them, but there are 3 different encounters like that. They usually show as a white dot and are either wolves, grizzlies or cougars.

I still haven't seen it.  But I just bought a Norfolk Roadster last night with one of the Outlaw Pass 30% off horses voucher because I got too impatient waiting and it's the same price.

They should do all gifts via vouchers and let players have a choice of colour or just leavitt all together and not use the voucher at all.

Usually if its the regular weekly updates probably some clothes or some new colors to clothes we have that might be better. Maybe some bonuses that may or may not be decent other than that I don't think I expect much. We shouldn't be expecting things like new missions or jobs in weekly updates at all. After last year and the whole Beta phase its safe to say to keep the expectation bar low for weekly updates....heck maybe don't have any expectations. I mean we could skip a couple of weekly updates at this point without me noticing we skipped. As you can see if it wasn't for @Jason I wouldn't even know if we had a weekly update most times.

Personally I think the game is in the best state it has ever been. Stranger missions, camp, horse bonding, the STUBBLE...mechanics finally work. Never had real issues with disconnects. Seems stable to me (3+hours sessions etc.). Is the moonshiner update that bugged? From the bits I've dipped into most of the stuff works. Yeah the mash costs stay the same but that I really don't care about. I know bootlegger missions tend to not start,  hit and miss just like stranger missions back in the days...but I guess that will be fixed...soon.

 

So really, besides the fact that clothing pieces just don't look appealing most of the time, I have next to nothing to complain about.

I have no expectations anymore and kind of tackled it by slapping an outfit/theme on my character that just doesn't need anything new to come. He is now dressed up like Ye Normale cowpoke, wearing just some of the 'vanilla' clothing items. No more fancy schmancy stuff, just plain brown clothing/hair- and facial hairstyle. 

For Chavez, plain is the new fancy.

I know I said I was going to try to stick with "Lady Liberty" in that other thread, but at this point in time I want to return to my Sun Bai character......yeah so that only lasted maybe about a week and a half.

Can't do that though with the infinite load screen though

Agreed. I'm happy with my outfits and even though I welcome more clothes I'm not too crazy about the game anymore. Its not like I'm dissappointed its just that at this point the wishlist fever is gone from me personally, because I got other things to worry about. Its at the point where I'm thinking whatever is in the game is in the game and I will hop on when I hop on. I'm returning to school and just started a new job so my focus is elsewhere.

Games should be entertaining and that's what I'm missing about this game quite a lot of times. On other days, when the game runs smooth, it's a good bit of entertainment, though. 

There isn't much 'shiny' hype to look forward to and the way they deliver new roles just doesn't work for me. We get it dumped in our laps and then the road to iron out the bugs and glitches becomes the main activity playing the role. 

I still love the game's theme and all, but Rockstar lost a lot of credit with their way of dealing with things. Hope you don't skip on the forums too much, though.

I'll probably check in on the forums at least a few times a week at least. Expecting anything big before Spring MIGHT be too early unless they shoot for Valentines Day, but other than that nah.

Its weird though because the game's online portion release....and I mean the very beginning(BETA phase) felt like it was just yesterday we were jumping up and down making wishlists like crazy and all dressed up like hobo outlaws. Now everybody has a decent enough wardrobe to express a style or several styles for one character. I mean this whole console generation started in what 2013? Bruh I just graduated from HS in 2013.......now I'm halfway in my 20s. Just looking at this game right now it has alot more activity now than it did before and I can't imagine what it will look like 1 year from now or 2......how about 3 or 4 years from now. Some of us didn't know each other until RDO came out and we started talking on the forum and sharing experiences.......man.........time goes by slow and fast at the same time.

The forums did add a lot of fun to the game, absolutely. It's a tat quiet of late and many I saw posting here have disappeared or just refrain from posting. Sharing experiences and tips to get things done is a great feature we got here. 

Everything is fun while it lasts and who knows what will happen with this game in a year, few years or simply til when it is cancelled. I'm not expecting this game to have the longevity of GTAO, though. Maybe we'll see 2-3 years of life of it. We'll see. 

In 6 weeks time one of my most anticipated games of the past 20 years will release, so I'll probably spend a whole lot of less time on this game from then on.

If I miss time from the game so far this year its going to be due to replaying old games like the Mass Effect Trilogy and probably Cyberpunk 2077 easily. Might be more as we move forward though, but as of right now thats what it is. I do expect R* to play the dangle game and dangle something in front of us at some point this year to bring us back in the fold just not now.

Nah, they're focusing on new players, luring those in with shinies. Most of the discounts/benefits are aimed at new players, simply because they bring in new money. We've already done our share and will most likely never pay a RL cent to gain funds in this game ever again. 

I'll be sticking around as long as I still have some fun with the game and forums.
