I miss the days when this section was poppin. Last time we had fun in here was in like 2015 or 16 or so I think. 2014-16 So many people came and went I miss the regulars.

At least it's still way more active than the V subforum, I still see the IV subforum having a dedicated fanbase. I feel like GTA V lacks that compared to IV or SA which is sad cause the newest entry is generally the most talked about

I feel like this is another one of those infamous IV appreciation threads but tbf IV is that damn good so anyway

There are several things that make IV awesome which have been said many times. What I would say for this topic, and what fascinates me a lot about this game(and really the IV era as a whole) is the feeling of being a world of its own, feels like there are layers of stories happening in LC. Like, crazy things happened in the events of TBOGT but strictly going by that story you'd think Johnny was just a random biker. But then he had crazy events of his own, but as seen through TLAD's story Niko was just some dude part of a deal. And we all know the kind of stuff he did. So it makes me feel like there must be a lot going on in Liberty City that we don't really get to see, and that really contributes to LC feeling like a living world of its own. The LCPD database shows so many shady figures with their own colourful history that adds to this for me. We don't get a proper look at the famed Commission, surely they would be up to some crazy stuff themselves.

To sum it up, Liberty City feels like a world within itself with stories upon stories taking place in this world. No other game gives me this feeling to this extent (the 3d era combined may feel similar but IV era with just it's one setting matches that feeling for me, even IV by itself feels deep). So that's what makes the IV era awesome to me.

Yeah, Grand Theft Auto V sections is so bad these days. I remember when it was so awesome. (Well, it was before the game was released, which... means something, I guess).

Anyways, Grand Theft Auto IV is awesome. What more can I say, we all know why.

Gta IV is one of those games that are good with almost everything of them. Like Max Payne.

11 years later and I still haven’t gotten impressed by a game with its technological revolution like gta 4 , king of ragdoll physics etc.

Feckin' hell, I love this game.

Turned it on for the first time since August of last year and it just feels like home.

Most buildings that were in Dukes, are unfortunately gone irl. But damn, the nostalgia hurts being able to see them in game again.

(That restaurant with the bowl of noodles in top, was a damn good restaurant, IRL. The building remains but the bowl is gone, due to changing owners.)

Even the radio stations perfectly for the game's atmosphere and it IS New York City!

I'm biased, without a doubt, but damn this game is feckin' amazing. The characters are so memorable and those tiny details in the game...

I could go on all day...

LC for life!

GTA IV will always hold a special place in my heart. I came to New York in Septmber of 2008, although my life wasn't filled bullets and crazy adventures like Niko, it's a time capsule for me. The music, especially LRR and The Beat based on 104 Classic Rock and Hot 97, the locations, the whole atmosphere is of that time period. R* nailed it, even though the game is what, 11 years old now? It's still full of surprises and fun things to do.

Recently I was walking down in Dukes and a cabbie hit a car, the two drivers were fighting each other and then the cops showed up. The cab driver got arrested and put in a police cruiser, I took his cab and started to follow the cops. On the red light some guy rammed into me and I hit the police cruiser, got a wanted star and the cab driver who got arrested bolted. It was so funny, no other video game can provide such wacky yet realistic experience.

Never played on PC before but I’m really considering buying one just so I can use a no death mod for Niko and have fun with the rag doll physics.

Carmageddon anyone?

No GTA has rag doll as good as IV.

GTAIV has a special place in my heart as it was the first GTA I ever owned. First got it in ‘08 and have continuously played it since.

I remember going up to each plane at Francis and pressing triangle. And LSPD killing me after each failed attempt. So much fun

PC version is a bit problematic. It is a bad port. Even if you have the best computer in the world, the FPS fluctuation is not something you can avoid. GTA V works better on my computer than IV.
