J LaFleur
Who do you think is more tough and/or likeable? GTA III mobsters such as Salvatore Leone, Luigi Goterelli, Joey Leone and Toni Cipriani. or GTA IV's Italian (and one Irish) mobsters such as Jon Gravelli, Jimmy Pegorino, Ray Boccino and Phil Bell. Ehrmantraut
Does foot soldiers count? If so, than GTA 3 mobster are tougher, by far, the mobsters in that game can shred even a Firetruck with only 2 shotgun shells, they're extremely overpowered. Zello
Phil: Sure we can talk... as long as we don't talk too much. Interesting times, you know what I mean? Did you hear about our friend, the guy with the thing? Ray: Yeah, you mean Harry the... guy with the hat. Phil: No the guy with the, y'know, the budda beep budda boop. Ray: Yeah the guy with the... and the - Phil Yeah that guy. Ray: Yeah. I heard. Algonquin Assassin
Since this also include Irish mobsters than GTA IV's by far. Better written characters with more personality. The run of the mill mobsters in GTA III are insanely (and unrealistically) overpowered, but it's not something that's not exclusive to them since basically every gang in GTA III are homicidal psychos. iiCriminnaaL, Bratva Assassin and Jeansowaty
iiCriminnaaL
GTA IV's mobsters when it comes to me. They had more depth, personality, and also were far more realistic. It simply wasn't just one ultimately dominant crime family and some other families that are basically shadows with no prominent operation or truly feared power. While it's clear which crime family is more powerful (the Gambettis being the most powerful, Pegorinos being the least), the differences don't appear to be that significant between most of the families. Off-topic: The Russian mobsters were even better in my opinion. Jeansowaty
GTA IV's Italian Mob was portrayed nearly perfectly. Great job. The 3D Universe Mafia was a cliche-filled mess, especially the Leones. Copcaller
Gta 4 their mob families are reduced in power from Rico and similar acts but are still dangerous and influential in liberty city iiCriminnaaL
OG Freddy LOC
Forelli family associates of the Leone family compared to the GTAIV mob Boccino and the Pegorino family in Alderney cross paths in Liberty city , although the timeline varies still have the same end: that is the downfall of Mobsters antagonists in both games by the player protagonists actions. Bratva Assassin
GTA IV mobsters but I like both A LOT. I really wish GTA IV would’ve had the Yakuza and Colombian Cartel. iiCriminnaaL
GhettoJesus
It's kind of like comparing a raw egg and an omelette considering how much resources they had for each. I think they both have their charm, it's hard to choose. For what they had III was just as well written. iiCriminnaaL and Bratva Assassin

eyeballs
Italians and irish are not the same thing. There arent any irish gangsters in gta 3 unless you dont count someone of irish heritage like Ken O'Toole in liberty city stories or Donald Love who could be irish
iiCriminnaaL
Reading the main post again, it seems like we got it wrong . This most likely refers to Phil Bell since he's partially of Irish descent. Edited July 17, 2020 by iiCriminnaaL
