what was your rdo wtf moment?

I have seen about a dozen roaming around StDenis last year, with a scattering around the outskirts, accompanied by the usual trigger happy stupidity, no mission notifications yet random pot shots here and there, people killing unattended horses near the saloon, police station, & cemetery.

I’ve only ever had one wtf moment apart from the stock standard “how is he still alive after five shots!?” and “that hit him!” and that was outside the Moonshine shack in the swamp. I’m walking around by myself and start seeing several bodies falling from the sky and landing next to me. Another player rode past and stopped to have a look. I’m not sure if he did it or what. If it was on PC then I wouldn’t be surprised but this was on PS4.

^^ Yeah, now -that- is very strange! Hard to blame it on a glitch, though it's technically possible with some of the physics glitches lately--flinging you or an NPC way into the air/space.

 

Switching gears to carriages - almost every time if you kill one of the horses, it will stop the whole carriage. But I ran into one recently that ran over its own horse and kept going:

What is with my guy and the big cats anyways?

 

I should have known, my horse was worried about something and I just wasn't paying attention because I did not even think about the panther in this area. I thought the red was a gator instead.

Didn't see the panther until I got off the horse, lol, I figured if I just walked away maybe he wouldn't notice that I was there.

Then to top it all off I was just going to kill it when my husband wanted me to sedate it instead..

And I hate leaves, just going to say that now.

 

But this right here is usually what happens when I come across one of the big cats anymore, they seem like they get confused before they attack me?

I actually had that happen with my own moonshine wagon yesterday.  No idea why it happened - just walking really carefully across the river that borders the north of the Great Plains and one of the horses tripped over, detached from the cart and walked off.  

Would have thought doing something that was enough to lose a horse would be pretty disastrous for the delivery, but I only lost the tiniest sliver of cargo, so no big deal.

There was some weird crap happening today.

Animals were relatively scarce, then when hunting a couple of deer near Emerald, I  shot one and tried to get a second, missed twice and while aiming through the scope I heard 'awooo' and then got bit from behind by a grey wolf.

This was right beside Guthrie Farm in the middle of an open field!

There was no one else in the session.

I've had wolves pop up in a number of places like outside the P.O. in Van Horn but never when I was alone on the server so it's always been a modder. Right after I killed those wolves I got set on fire and died by the modder. Bless his lil ol heart.

Throwing dynamite at a bounty target, can be tricky.

 

Bounty target and escort died inside the carriage. And I could not retrieve the body. Surprisingly, the horse did not die and the carriage was still drivable... decided to deliver the body as is (carriage and all) to the sheriff in Annesburg.

 

To my delight, it worked - bounty was delivered and payment was received.

Had a realization while playing recently. I’m in my moonshine shack out in tall trees doing dailies and the place is full. Usually like 20 people or something plus the band members.  I finish up, walk outside and look around...where the f*ck are all the horses lol?  How did all those people get there and how are they getting home?  Is there some sort of old west drunk cab I don’t know about?  WTF?

I can only imagine a ton of drunk people sloshing around in the muck and getting eaten by gators at mine now, since mine is in the swamps.

 

 

My wtf moment for the day is why do the horses seem attracted to fencing these days? It's almost like their script to jump automatically is triggered even when you are putting on the brakes, as it were?

Some days ago I stole a steamboat and get it through the coast from Saint Denis to Blackwater, took me around 40-50 mins, when I arrived to Blackwater, I wanted to continue through the San Luis River but at some point the boat got stuck on the shore, I tried to move it only by running into it, I moved it a little bit but not enough to get it back into the water, don't know why I decided to use my horse, tried not to hit it so hard but when I did try it, I fell off my horse and my horse fell onto the boat, and out of nowhere the boat caught in fire, it was instantly, my horse didn't even touched boat's engine, I suppose it's some kind of prevention that doesn't allow you to get a horse onto a boat idk, was very funny and interesting tho

Last night was not a good night for Bounty Hunting.

 

That first one was so bad that I could barely ride my horse because I was laughing so hard that our target died that fast.  

 

 

The second one sucked because I could barely see what was going on and had to not only focus on entangling those guys, but also stop my horse from bucking me or starting off because of the bear. I actually used a filter to lighten the video so it can be seen better.

Happened to me with Trade Route the other day.  Accepted invite, loaded in and got the screen as if the event finished, thrown back to free roam and no invite.  And it was the proper time, not like I finished a mission and got the invite a few minutes later than it should

I've had dynamite detonated in mid-air by enemy gunfire more than once now. First time, I was clearing the Bacchus Station hideout by trying to throw dynamite at the Skinners loitering on the platform when one of them shot the stick just after I threw it. It was far enough away so it wouldn't kill me with the blast, but it was a Volatile stick and I danced around a bit until the flames when out.

 

Another time was during the Del Lobos attack on Valentine mission with the War Wagon. Of course I tried to blow up the wagon from long distance and lobbed the stick high for good air time. Thing is, the machine gunner opened fire and blew the dynamite clear out of the sky.

When aiming at it, I had to follow it, as it was moving slowly.

It wouldn't die when I shot it, even with an explosive rifle round (forgot they were loaded in my bolt action).

Stole a wagon from the random revenue roadblock at the intersection south of the oilfields so I could do the travel for a mile daily...and after a little over 2100 ft. the front wheels just fell off.

May be a despawning trick where it can't go farther than a certain distance from it's original spawn location?

I had this with a gatling wagon from a bounty. @Nerfgoth was driving and I asked if he crashed it but he said no. It just died on us.

The furthest I could get a stolen wagon was from outside of Rhodes to just shy of Emerald Ranch before the wheels just up and fell off.

Yesterday I was doing a $$$ Bounty, the target saw me and ride away, I was chasing him through the Manzanita Post area, suddenly a deer appeared from nowhere and a Cougar was chasing it and  they got in our way, the target kept riding but  my horse got scared,  threw me in the mud  and ran away, so I get up and the cougar was there, apparently he had loose the deer, so I looked at him and he looked at me, if had it been a conversation it would be something like:

-Cougar: So you lost your prey?

-Me: and you lost yours

-Cougar: Well, sh*t happens

I couldn't do anything else because in the next second I had that cougar in the neck, I should be angry or something but was so hilarious that I couldn't do anything but laugh

When waiting for the train to pass at rail cross road at Benedick Point to get a bounty, a npc rode into the train and killed his horse, he got up and looked at the dead horse and said "what in tar nation where you doing". I have seen some crackers in this game, but that one has to be the best one for me. Can't go near that place now with out laughing.

There I was just out riding my horse and minding my own business when this body shows up so I go take myself a look. 

I've never had a panther spawn when this body would randomly appear for me before, and it's kind of cool to think that it was a trap laid by the panther all along.

Also look at how that panther just disappears like a ghost, that's a cool detail.

 

Lol, my daughter was freaking out when I jumped off the rock it was hilarious.

Yep, I had actually been taking it slow just before this happened trying to get lure one out of the trees to take the bait and none showed up.

 

I find it funny how this one didn't want to follow me out onto the road when I rode up to get it's attention, and I think the body had something to do with it. Typically when the dot appears for the panthers it means it has you and they take chase, but not this one. Smart kitty. ‍I also like the area around Pleasance, I've been getting the legendary one to spawn often around there as well.
