Happy Holidays from the GTANet team!

Can you intervene in roadblocks/etc before the active player gets there?

Absolutely.

I don't use fast travel very often so I've ridden through quite a few road blocks when travelling back to the shack through Cumberland Falls, all Revenue Agents die, all remain unlooted.

Got to help my fellow Moonshiners out where I can.

The thing is, as soon as you've shot them and the other player is not near yet, the revenuers will despawn really quickly while you ride off, so there will probably be nothing left to loot.

That's true. I do stop to loot if I feel like I have the time after killing the road block agents, so the possibility of missed collectables is definitely there.

I've not had any issues with being chased when someone else takes out the road block like others have mentioned though. I had someone else clear the road block for me last night, Grizzlies to the serial killer location sale, I had a clear run with no agents chasing, which has been my experience on the other occasions someone else cleared the road block for me too.

I don't know, I'll probably just leave them from now on. Personally I don't mind when it happens, but from this thread I know others do.

I generally leave them alone. I noticed how quick corpses despawn, when I knew I missed looting 2 of them while just riding away from the blockade once. I went back on foot, which was quicker than backing the wagon, and the corpses were already gone. So, shooting and looting them has to be done quick. I also think that the blockades do add some to the immersion of doing sales and don't wanna break that for the mission taker.

The few times I do help is when I see the player busy clearing the blockades. If I'm within shooting range, I do fire a few shots.

Somebody killed the guards at the supply source for me yesterday in Van Horn as they were going to the fence.

I left them there for that player to loot, since he used his ammo to kill them it's only fair.

It made me think the mission had glitched out at first since the message changed right after I started the supply job.

Now that I've been playing moonshiner a bit, I'm in agreement with you that I'm not going to touch anyone else's that I may come across [unless they are actively clearing it, and then I won't loot after] because the loot possibilities are too good for the player going through them.  The last few I've had to clear on missions have been brutally effective at hitting me even in good cover, as if they are taking a page from the GTA book of ridiculous aimbot though, and I've seen the despawned corpses too many times lately as I get killed despite being behind a big ass boulder and the 15+ Revenuers I dispatched are gone when I respawn, along with their loot.

How it usually goes for me...

1. See roadblock enroute to find new fishing spots

2. "Let's go horsie!" Rush to find a good vantage point

3. Wait for the fellow moonshiner to arrive having them well covered. Don't you dare rob him you damn dirty revenuers!

4. If they try to stop the wagon... "So you have chosen death BOAH?! Now say hello to my little friend Mr. Carcano!"

5. Killing the lot of them then riding away into the sunset at full speed feeling so damn proud... forgetting we're on a cliff. Both me and my horsie now dead from the fall. You're welcome fellow moonshiner, you're welcome!

I ran into a spawned open world event, the ones like hideouts, but with the moonshine logo on it. Lots of revenuers down below the cliff, lots of bigass boulders to hide behind at a good distance too. "HA! They are sitting ducks!", I thought. "I can easily pick them off one by one with my Carcano from here". Nope, they shot me dead with a semi auto shotgun, through them bigass boulders. There was no way they could have hit me, since I was all covered by boulder and very much out of shotgun range and LoS.
I am now sure that back in 1898, someone left a revenuer alive and allowed him to multiply. His offspring are the terminators in GTAO.

Went through some really old archives and found a photo of that revenuer that shot you.. *gulp*

Just to top this thread up, I came across a roadblock today, waited with my shotgun, player came up and I blasted half the revenuers, he got the rest.  Looted none of them--was fun to be in a position to start blasting as soon as the wagon came through.

Got a hat tip from the player for the effort.  Was my best gameplay experience of the day.

Hmm; maybe all we need to do is starting raving about how awesome it is that other players are helping us make money clearing those roadblocks, and hopefully R* will nerf the amount of players in a session...

...but knowing R*, they'll just remove loot from road block agents like they did on NPC bounty hunters.

R*'s steaming pile of "A.I." never bothers to check for rocks or even buildings in the way before claiming a kill on players.

I've been one-shot through the floor of a building in St. Denis too many times now to count (you can easily see the bullet paths coming through the floor at an angle), and chunks of cliff on the rock mounds on either side of Twin Stack Pass.

I like it when you shoot them in the head 3 times point blank before they finally die.

I think some of these road blocks just randomly spawned in, and are not all tied to other players on delivery missions. I’ve seen a handful of these road blocks around Tumbleweed and there are no Moonshine shacks in that area. The closest one is in southern Henigan Stead, and that’s quite a distance to travel for a delivery, let alone a road black encounter. They have to be randomly spawned in.

If you see a red icon on your map and/or you get a mission objective soon as you approach/attack, that is one of the Moonshiner freeroam events and is not connected to any other player's moonshine delivery.

Come across a roadblock without the red zone, then a player is on a delivery.
