Happy Holidays from the GTANet team!

Can you intervene in roadblocks/etc before the active player gets there?

The other day I rode through a series of roadblocks with what looked like lawmen posted up waiting for someone.  I'm curious if you are able to engage these people to help out whomever may be on a mission or if it would screw up the mission for the other player--I was going to wait to see if I could help during the action but I was headed to the butcher at the time with a bunch of hunted gear on my horse.

There also was a situation at Wallace Station where a bunch of NPCs were firing weapons at someone when I went to the post office but they paid me zero attention so I just rode off.

I make it a point to shoot any taxman I come across and so I do in game as well.

I prefer to get no help myself, I enjoy the easy gunplay too much to share, and as such I usually back off from other players' parties, but these tax-bastards? Whenever, wherever, you filthy vultures.

So, err, yeah. You can intervene.

Yeah you can kill them before a player gets there. If I see them along my travels then I’ll take them out. The gunfire at Wallace Station was most likely someone doing a Trader delivery.

That means I'll take those guys out next time as well.  Kinda cool that you can influence/help out randomly, which I suppose is a side benefit of forced group lobbies

You should do what's fun for you, but I'm usually counting on enemies from missions as a source of lootable bodies and occasionally collectible items to complete daily challenges. Which isn't to say you shouldn't steal my targets, just that you may not be helping as much as you think.

Revenuers on the other hand... Be my guest.

I'm fine with it for trader sales as those can go funky sometimes with the guys you're delivering to getting killed before you deliver the goods and whatnot.

Whenever I see NPCs going after someone making a sale, I take them out.

I prefer no one shoots them, revenue agents seem to have a higher probability of droping antique alcohol bottles. Particularly Caribbean Rum, a necessary ingredient for a moonshine recipe I make frequently.

Yes and you are doing your fellow Outlaws a solid by killing them just don't be a dick and loot the bodies.

The ones having a shootout near train stations can kill the buyers before the player is even half way there meaning they lose the entire stock so clearing out the baddies and protecting the buyers is a major solid.

Revenue Agents have a chance to attack the wagon meaning they may damage a bottle, losing the player twenty five percent of the sale.

Kill them, kill them all.

Absolutely.

I don't use fast travel very often so I've ridden through quite a few road blocks when travelling back to the shack through Cumberland Falls, all Revenue Agents die, all remain unlooted.

Got to help my fellow Moonshiners out where I can.

do not attack the revenue agents, someone killed all the revenue agents when i was selling my moonshine and what happens is since there is nobody there to have an interaction with you, you just drive through the roadblock and the agents will begin to chase you

sorry guys, but when I see some npc, fight them ad kill em, I should loot them without a bad conscience. its not a dick move.

some of the writers above act like they are "the owner" of these npcs and harming them is not allowed....this goes way to far imo.

That's only logical, even of there are numerous dipsh*ts that think they can just roll up on your killing field and loot it dry.

My kill, my loot. Your kill, your loot. That's not very hard.

Have they changed it? I rolled up on a Trader sell at a train station and I could not shoot the guys attacking the Buyers

Pretty sh*tty move if it has been changed.

If that's a deliberate change and not some weird bug it's petty as f*ck.

Agreed. I did spawn from a Fast Travel into the middle of it at Valentine station so I might have been blocked so people can't just spawn a Posse in the middle and ki the seller's.

Aha! This might(?) explain why I saw two NPCs on either side of a trail I was on, looking in the same direction off the trail (and completely ignoring me).

I shot and looted them both, thinking it was a bug in the game (since I was on a wagon mission myself).

Most quick fixes that they do are the petty ones.

I had this happen too but when the person delivering the goods arrived and started fighting them I was able to lend a hand, I think it's to stop people just clearing the area way ahead of the delivery arriving, which, if like me, you actually like protecting the buyers from the bandits (help or no help) would kind of take the fun out of it.

How dare people make plans and try and play the game differently to what R* commands. Its pretty f*cking scummy that the enemies can kill the Buyers before you get there but you can't send someone ahead on a fast horse to clear them out. The deck is stacked against you.

I don't think it is changed, because just the other day I got to the revenuer roadblock and a player had killed them all but one guy (that I shot.)

So I tipped my hat and merrily drove my wagon on ;)

Oh, yeah, they could probably interact because I was near.

I agree that should be possible with a member of your own posse on the active mission, I'm not sure if it is, I haven't tried it. But on the other hand I can see why they don't want to allow it for randoms until you get closer and can join in, as I say, if I arrived and all the bandits were dead cos of some random I'd be a bit annoyed as I like fighting them off

The excuse will be that they don't want random people killing the buyers so they made everyone invincible.

I see your point, but thats not the way "helping others" works. You cant blame someone for shooting npcs.

not every player knows exactly what is going on like us and where the npcs belong to. and even if they do and kill them all, because they want to help or not.

The thing is, I get waived through most of my road blocks without issue which means no attackers during the delivery.  But the few times I have gone through a road block but somebody else has clearly been there I have been attacked, so it is not always a help, sorry.

This is why we need private lobbies, because while one person wants to help, there is another that doesn't want it or need it.  I don't fault anyone who wants to help, but it can be annoyance to me and how I personally like to play the game.

I had no choice but to intervene at a goods destination. I was inside the Valentine station as the dude with the goods pulled up and some of the enemy came inside blasting away at me.
