Can't use Lester for removing wanted level

I have recently started playing GTA Online on a new platform (PC) and i was wondering why i am unable to use Lester to remove my wanted level, as i am at the right level for the ability to be used and on my previous accounts i have been able to use it just fine once i reached the right level. All it says when i go to select that option is "wait for lester to contact you", which he hasn't done at all aside from the phone calls about the doomsday and casino heists. I have visited him on the map, done jobs for him, used the other services that he offers (locate car, cops turn a blind eye etc.) but he still will not contact me about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's been buggy since the Casino Heist DLC. You're not alone.

- Try do the first heist (Fleeca job, you can start it from a fancy apartment that has a 'heist room') that should give you the option to call him for something like 500 bucks.
- If you do all 3 acts of doomsday finale as a host you get the option without having to pay for it.
- Realize that sometimes you simply cant call off cops via lester, its how R* designed some of the missions.
- Theres no difference between paid and 'free' version, if you cant call off the cops during a certain job, neither can people that get it for free / do have to pay.

Its slightly buggy since Casino Heist DLC, but only outside of jobs, if you're playing a full-blown job you usually never have the option, if your playing actual freemode it depends on if there are any events active in the session (and if so which, as they do different things with cops) & if you're playing a freemode mission it depends on what R* configured if you get the option

If you want to lose the wanted level during Casino preps > suicide> respawn> request free Sanchez from CEO menu> request Avenger> go on blue circle(bay entrance). Escaping cops gets annoying considering the amount of setups+ the amount of setups that ends-or may end-with a wanted level of three or four stars...

PS: You can't ask Lester to remove wanted level during Casino preps I mean, above is an alternative.

Sometimes unavailable because R* decided so, its part of the mission...etc, like when you sell your bunker stock with Phantom Wegde, you get three stars and Lester cops removal is grayed.

It's a design choice to deter players from efficiently going through preps and finishing the heist faster. Quicker heist payouts reduce shark card sales.

Yeah possibly but the fact it works on some missions where you get a wanted level and not on others is very strange and creates some doubt.

This happens to me when randomly roaming around, not on mission or registered as CEO/MC, getting in firefights and getting cops on me. I can call Lester but when I click on "remove wanted level" nothing happens and I get a "Transaction Failed because of invalid inventory data" error

That seems like something seriously wrong with your game and not that which we refer to...hit up Rockstar support.

This is happening to me, too, since about a week ago.

 

I'm even putting on a mask again just to remove a wanted star. Real low level type stuff.

Ok I stand corrected...for me occasionally it’s greyed out but if I can click it I never get that.

Help & Support is full of threads about Lester-calls.

I always get the transaction failed message and unable to get the stars cleared. Also get the transaction error with the Penthouse free decorations and unable to position them 

 

Also transaction error when calling CEO vehicles and aircraft, but at least those are delivered to me.

I made a new character and I am the same. Lester, Merryweather and Lamar (mugger) are all locked even though I am above the level needed. I opened a ticket with R* and they still haven't replied. I waited in a session for nearly 2 hours and he still didn't call so I don't know what to do now.

That fecked up. 

Here ain't nothing changed as well. 

Am above the required rank but no call. 

Lester calls for heists and whatnot but no off radar sh*t. 

Lamar calls for missions if at all. 

 

I guess this has something to do with the Casino heist update. 

 

Yeah, complaint ticket, same here. 

Time will tell.
