cp1dell
Last I saw was them showcasing some files inside the .rpf archives. Still looks like a decent amount of stuff hasn't been decoded yet so it's still a mystery as to what is what. I literally bought the game weeks ago when it was on sale on Steam, but I'm waiting for OpenIV support so I can fix that damn epilogue haha Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/942824-is-there-any-news-from-open-iv-rdr2/#findComment-1071028821 Share on other sites
MaveriX
OpenIV 4.0 released back last march and still no updates since. Shame because I'd like to mod RDR2 without hassle https://www.rdr2mods.com/downloads/rdr2/tools/45-openiv/ Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/942824-is-there-any-news-from-open-iv-rdr2/#findComment-1071739147 Share on other sites
cp1dell
I wonder if they ran into some issue, or if COVID is just slowing things down. I remember around the time Lenny's Mod Loader became widely used, according to the roadmap and OpenIV talks it felt like we weren't too far from a new update enabling archive editing and the OpenIV.asi plugin for RDR2. EDIT: From the OpenIV topic in the Featured Mods board: On 12/22/2020 at 1:55 PM, OpenIV Team said: -snip- We have updated our roadmap for OpenIV 4.1 it now has all the major planned changes. OpenIV 4.1 will be released in the coming weeks. https://openiv.com/bugs/roadmap_page.php?version_id=42 That was back in December of 2020, and it was going to be released "in the coming weeks." It's been over a year now. I'm really curious as to what happened. As much as I appreciate Lenny's Mod Loader for allowing us to mod in the meantime, I'm really looking forward to just being able to replace the files myself and use OpenIV's mod folder. I wonder if the OpenIV team had to work around the way RDR2 streams archives differently. Like how some .ymt files (like shop_items or catalog_sp) are found in multiple "update" archive locations as opposed to just one large one like in GTA V.
