[Game]R* hired you to update vehicles' designs

IceDree

Recommended Posts

Lets play a game, Lets say R* hired you to redesign or update some of the cars in the game. You can do anything from small updates like removing interior trash permanently or wider tires or simple rebranding, to something mild like swapping interior designs or widening tracks to a more dramatic redesign to create an LE\SR\Mk II model of said vehicles.

The catch is you can only reuse in-game resources, for example: Lets say I want to create an updated model of the original Gallivanter Baller. I'll swap the headlights for the Baller LE headlights, tailights for the Cavalcade II taillights, interior for colorable Nero interior, wheels for bigger Adder wheels & add a panoramic roof like the one in the Rebla GTS. Voila, Baller S.

You can do one vehicle every 24 hours.

Go.

Only one vehicle per day?

I'll start with the Washington because of course I would.

I'd replace the front bucket seats with a bench seat taken from the back seat of a Schafter (since there aren't any others with a center armrest) but add head rests to it. I'd also add a color option to the interior, option for a vinyl top and an option to add thin stripe white walls to the stock wheels using the design from the Benny's tires but I'd move the line a little closer to the rim because they look a little funky having the line so close to the edge of the tire.

I figured you would start with the Washington, good job.

No rebranding it as a Dundreary though?

You know, I thought of that but the reason why I didn't do that was because it was an Albany in IV. And gotta keep the rockstar logic in there somewhere right?  Well there is an edit button...

I would make a removeable roof for the Vapid Hustler.

AKA Hustler Roadster.

First thing I can think of is a more accurate and colourable interior for the Stirling GT. I know you said only one vehicle per 24 hours, but since it's pretty much all the same thing, next thing I'd do is swap all the old bad textures on the bug catcher hood options to the more recent updated ones, it would do wonders for all the vanilla and early DLC muscle cars.

I would allow access to all the stock and Benny’s wheels on every car.... I just want to try Mamba wheels on my Ellie.

I’d redo the Yosemite first. Delete the airbag suspension and give it a good ride height, delete that sunstrip, flatten out that bump in the middle of the bed, have the dual exhaust exitting out the sides like a normal truck, give it the engine sound from the Rat Truck, and replace the rims with the stock rims of the Slamvan, but have them come white as standard.

Basically, I’d remodel it to a stock version that I’ve always wanted, because there’s a surprising lack of old American trucks in this game. And while I know that it’s a parody of LA, but you still see old Chevys, Fords, and Dodges kicking around no matter where you go.

We need more old trucks! And please keep them looking stock R*. I’d love to see an old sweptline Dodge, dentside Ford, or a boxy International in an DLC.

One thing I would do is rename the Albany Virgo, because I think it's a little weird we got the GTA 4 version back, but they gave us a late '60's El Dorado and called that the Virgo too.

First thing I'd do is remove ALL engine and handling flags. Let the cars achieve their full potential.

I’d give the Omnis the audio from the Banshee [closest thing to a straight 5]. Give the Tailgater 4wd and the sound from the Schafter V12. Put Drafter in coupes class. Rebadge Rocoto to Pfister. give the regular Sultan the Sultan RS’s sound. Give the Zion XS, Sentinel XS, Dubsta, and Benefactor XLS the audio of the the Schafter V12. Give the Faction the power bulge bonnet as standard and fatten up the tyres. Rebadge the Manana to Willard. Rebadge the Buccaneer to Willard. Make the Jester NSX 4wd. Rebadge the Hermes to Dundreary. Give both Cavalcades and Rancher and Landstalker the same audio as the Granger. Make the Albany Virgo fwd, give it a vinyl top, chrome strips on the side, and a chrome kick panel. Put Alpha in coupes class. Rebadge the Revolter to Albany and move it to Saloons class. Give the Bobcat dually rear wheels. Make the Picador 2wd. Give the Dune FAV the front tyres from the standard Dune, and give both of them the ride height of the Injection. Put Buttalos in muscle class. Give the Gang Burrito and Youga the generic muscle car sound. Reclassify the Moonbeam as a Van. Rebadge the Nightshade as a Declasse. Fix the ride height on the Deluxo. Fatten up the wheels on the Gauntlet Classic and give it the exhaust mods and liveries of the Hellfire. Give the standard Ruiner the flip-up headlamps from the Turismo Classic. Give the Coquette the flip-up headlamps from the Ruiner 2K. Rebadge all Coquettes as Declasse. Give Impaler lowrider mods from the Sabre Custom. Give the Drift Tampa and Flash GT the new ‘drifty’ handling of the Drift Yosemite, and put Drift Yosemite in sports class. Rebadge Minivan as Bravado. Give the Diabolus and FCR1000 variants the audio of the Esskey. Give the Stanier the audio of the Washington and the ‘police’ mods and wheels of the unmarked cruiser. Give the Daemon and Wolfsbane the hardtail frame from the Zombie. Give the Nightblade the softtail frame of the Wolfsbane. Give Taipan the sound of the Schafter V12. Put Fusilade and Furore GT in coupes class. Give the Peyote the lowrider mode from the Tornado Custom. Give both Entities the engine sound from the Rebla and the twisty doors from the Furia. Give the Ardent all the sub conversion bits from the Stromberg and make it Sports class. Remove all the armour bubble things on the doors of the armoured cars. Move Cheetah Classic to Sports class. Remove the gun from the Caracara 6x6. Scale the Virgo Classic up to be about the same size as the standard Virgo. Rebadge the Chino as a Dundreary. Rebadge the Washington as a Dundreary and fix the ride height and give it the lowrider mods of the Primo Custom. Widen and resize the wheels on the Torero, and reclass it as Sports. Reclassify the Infernus Classic and Turismo Classic as Supers. Put Franken Stange and Tornado Rat Rod in muscle class. Rebadge the Kuruma as a Maibatsu. Rename the Stallion as a Classique and give it dual exhausts. Rename the Sabre Turbo as a Willard. Rebadge the Regina as a Schyster. Give the Super Diamond the wheels and audio from the Cognoscenti. Give the Stafford the generic SUV sound. Rebadge the Mamba as a Vapid. Give the Ellie the Mamba’s wheels. Make the two trophy trucks 2wd. Make the 190Z an Annis and fix the wheel spacing. Rebadge the Jester Classic to a Karin. Give the Rebel the lowrider mods of the Minivan Custom. Fix wheel spacing on Issi Classic. Reclassify the Futo, Dynasty, and Blista Compact and as Compacts. Make the Komoda, Schafter V12, Exemplar, Jackal, Jugular, Raiden, Sugoi, Felon, Neon, Cheburek, Roosevelt, VSTR and Sultan to ‘saloons’. Put Streiter in off road.

I'll start with one of my all time favorites, the Grotti Bestia GTS.

DIYCpAF.png

Front end:

I'll just disable the illuminated Grotti Badge.

Side profile:

I'll remove the side vent & replace it with a small Grotti shield like the one in the Cheetah Classic.

latest?cb=20170625152808

Rear end:

- I'll swap the Alfa Romeo taillights for the Grotti Itali GTO ones, but make them closer to each other.

latest?cb=20181213165941

- I'll replace the exhaust tips & diffuser with one similar to the one in the Pegassi Toros (minus the silver trim).

latest?cb=20181213153321

- I'll also get rid of the Bestia GTS script.

The roof:

I'll drop the Carbon Fiber roof in favor of a full panoramic roof like the real Ferrari FF.

2013-ferrari-ff-panoramic-roof-02.jpg

The engine bay

I'll give it the Grotti Itali GTO engine block & I'll the default color for it red.

latest?cb=20181213165941

The interior:

Colorable Truffade Nero Interior of course.

I would make a clique (this week podium vehicle) that has rear exaust , stafford seats and doors, some more badges and i would add some lowrider style modifications like antenas, colored roof, and a rear spare tire like the tornado one. Also increase the stock ride height.

This way the car could be turned into a lowrider or a stock shoe box.

I would bring a lot of new customization options for the Blista! Its a Scirocco, it need to have liveries or more racing mods. I would add an option to swap his engine for the GTS one.

FIRST WEEK

Major overhaul on most vehicle classes

DAY ONE: Delete all Advanced Handling Flags and toe angle values! Then devote the rest of the day to patching the cars that get too fast like Viseris.

DAY TWO: Rebalancing in general, remove the bad sport points and insurance charges of all weaponized vehicles, equalize the homing missile tracking of all vehicles to the standard level, with the selection being the Chernobog, AA Trailer and Terrorbyte, allow cars that can't be used on races to be used on races with weapons turned off, like the JB700W, Nightshark and Ardent.

DAY THREE: Increase the average top speed of the majority of vehicles by reducing the drag coefficient and adding more drive force value.

Aircrafts:

- Jets to 250mph under 1000ft up to 300mph above it;

- Airplanes and helicopters to 210mph under 1000ft up to 260mph above it;

Land Vehicles:

- Supercars to 180mph up to 200mph;

- Sports cars and sports bikes to 160mph up to 180mph;

-  Coupes, Sports Classics and Sedans to 140mph to 160mph;

- Muscle cars, Compacts, Off-Road, Classic bikes and SUVs/Trucks to 120mph up to 140mph;

For added fun, I won't upgrade the brakes and handling :)

The other vehicle classes can keep their current top speeds.

Motorcycles:

-Sports Bikes(Hakuchou, Bati 801, Shotaro, Akuma, Vindicator, etc...)

-Street Bikes(Vader, Vortex, Lectro, Ruffian, etc...)

-Chopper Bikes(Bagger, Sanctus, Avarus, etc...)

-Off-Road Bikes(Sanchez, BF400, Gargoyle, Blazer, etc...)

Supers:

-Hypercars(Deveste 8, Tempesta, Emerus, Nero, etc...)

-Supercars(Infernus, Bullet, Reaper, Vacca, etc...)

-Supers Classics(Progen GP1, Torero, Penetrator, Infernus VT, Turismo T40, etc...)

Sports:

-Super Sports(Itali GTO, Neo, Pariah, Issi Sport, 9f, Spectre, etc...)

-Sports Coupes(Fusilade, Windsor, Felon GT, 8f Drafter, Rapid GT, Sentinel, Schwartzer, etc...)

--Rallye(Troppos Rallye, GB200, Retinue, Retinue Mk2, Comet Safari, Flash GT, etc...)

-Heavy(Guardian, Riata, Kamacho, Sandking, Caracara 4x4, etc...);

Muscle:

-Modern Muscle cars(Gauntlet Hellfire, Dominator GTX, Dominator, Gauntlet, Buffalo, Buffalo S, etc...)

-Vintage Muscle cars(Sabre Turbo, Faction, Gauntlet S/C, Dukes, Stallion, etc...)

-Restomod(Coquette Blackfin, Nightshade, Blade, Peyote Gasser, Tornado Ratrod, etc...)

Sports Classics:

-American Cruisers(Manana, Roosevelt, Tornado, Peyote, Dundreary Virgo, Voodoo, Detroit, Chino, etc...)

-Sports Classics(Casco, 190z, Savestra, Stirling GT, etc...)

The other classes remains the same.

DAY SIX: Work into implementation of adaptive automatic transmission for land vehicles, which downshift and upshift based on your throttle input, kinda like it happens in this great but obscure racing game:

--------------------------------------------------------------

All of this on week one, I think its doable.

The other weeks I would look into each of 300+ cars and make them better wherever its possible, more balanced, with more accurate interiors by reusing assets wherever is possible(The Vapid Mamba could use the Z-Type engine sound and the Roosevelt interior, the Karin Jester JZ could use the Spectre engine sound and Banshee interior with a modern steering wheel, and so on)...An entire year of work but I would be willing to tackle it if it meant that I could implement my vision on all the cars currently in the game.

Swift mk2 aka

AirWolf

Basically a helicopter with rocket boost that can barrel roll

from wiki:

Spoiler
Quote

The concept behind Airwolf was a super-fast and armed helicopter that could "blend in" by appearing to be civilian and non-military in origin, a "wolf in sheep's clothing".
In the show, Airwolf was an armored, stealthy aircraft. It could perform impossible maneuvers and stunts, including traveling at mach speeds (the theoretical maximum speed of a helicopter is significantly below Mach 0.5, or half the speed of sound), flying upside down, and flying into the stratosphere. Some of these impossible capabilities are explained in the show by such features as auxiliary jet engines (visible at the roots of the landing gear sponsons), rotor blades that can be disengaged for supersonic flight and a lifting body fuselage.

Sound effects were also associated with many of the aircraft's abilities. When Airwolf bolted across the sky in "turbo boost" mode, one would hear it "howl like a wolf" as it made a glass-shattering sound effect. When sitting idle, the aircraft made a mechanical trilling sound, and while hovering the rotor blades made a ghostly wind drone.

The weapons were state-of-the-art, with machine guns that could rip apart tanks and bunkers. The belly missile pod could fire a variety of rockets, including air-to-surface Mavericks, Hellfires, and heat-seeking air-to-air Sidewinders. When fired, these rockets usually glowed like a laser bolt or "photon torpedo" from Star Trek. Airwolf was also equipped with an advanced computer system which could identify and track aircraft and ground vehicles. It could display 3D wireframe models and schematics of its targets. The communications system could eavesdrop on radio and telephone conversations, tap into and foul up computer systems, jam enemy transmission frequencies and disrupt ground-based electrical systems. The stealth systems were capable of rendering Airwolf invisible to radar, as well as producing multiple radar returns. The weapons system could be tied in with the communications system to lock the missiles onto any monitored electronic system

Airwolf II, also known as Redwolf was also equipped with a powerful
laser weapon coupled with a quick-firing, single-tube rocket pod

The last one missing...

And they could add some new features like:

Couple a colourable, leather version of the Roosevelt interior with the steering wheel of the 190z or the GT500, the seats of the Swinger and the engine model of any of the Tampas or the Dominator GTX and it would be literally the best Sports Classic in the game IMO.

The Albany Emperor

Much like the Washington, this car deserves a front bench seat, though not the same one. Instead I would duplicate the Emperor's rear seat, stuff some small head rests on it and replace those ill-fitting bucket seats. I'd also make it to where you can color the interior and while I'm at it I might as well update the Regina, Virgo and Manana interiors with the same trimmings since all those cars would in real life have had front bench seats and they mostly share the same interior. Back to the Emperor, I'd replace its engine model with the one from the Vamos since the Emperor's current engine model lacks a top mounted air filter. Visually I would add thin stripe white walls to the stock tires just like it had in IV and a hood ornament using the one mounted on the Cavalcade.
