So I finally convinced two friends from my clan to try RDO and join my Posse; I patiently waited for them to finish their character and play the intro mission while I prepared a delivery for them so they could get some money right off the bat.

It was a lot of fun hearing them enjoy the feeling of riding alongside friends as they escorted me to deliver the goods.

Upon arrival and successful delivery, I receive an invitation to participate in a Fool's Gold event; and even though I know we are going to get stomped, I accepted the invite while explaining to the guys what to expect and what our game plan was going to be (mainly sticking together)

After the event was over, we spawn back in to Open World; and as it would be, other participants spawned nearby as well. One of which took it upon himself to hogtie one of my teammates, who called out and we rushed to his rescue and killed the Would-Be Kidnapper.

I set up camp and we started traveling back, when suddenly we are being attacked by the same kidnapper, who again gets killed in the ensuing 1v3 gunfight.

As we approach camp, we get attacked again by this player who again just gets annihilated by the 3 of us.

Now that we have reached camp, I explain to my teammates about the white flag and that we are safe. Then I go about explaining how to use the catalog and we are all looking though the weapons section when I start hearing explosions. I exit the Catalog to see the same player throwing dynamite sticks at our horses (who are in the camp and are not affected by the explosions beyond getting blasted off their feet).

We all walked up to him and start emoting, but he continues throwing dynamite sticks at the horses and us.

One teammate pulls his cattleman out and says he wants to kill him, so I walk over to the white flag, did a count down and lowered it. After my teammates destroyed him, I raised the flag.

Seconds later, he is back in our camp and now tossing fire bottles at us. So, I lowered the flag again, the ensuing gunfight lasted maybe 2 seconds before he got obliterated again. Raised the flag again!

After a few minutes go by, we all receive a message from him that he has reported us for Griefing and he is going to get us removed from the lobby.

My friends were laughing so hard, that I am sure this is the beginning of a Persistent Posse.

Good times!!!!

I sometimes dont get it at all. What could people possibly think is going to happen.

Actually I am willing to bet he saw three people stood around and thought he could score some easy AFK kills like a coward. I still come across high level people that call me a hacker because they can't Hogtie me as I am in Defensive Mode.

Normally I would agree, but in this case it was the same guy who hogtied my buddy and then practically chased us across the plains to our camp as he respawned.

It was quite amusing how angry he got when technically it was him who was "griefing" us

I experienced something similar yesterday. I was checking my collections while in defensive mode. Next thing I knew I was getting shot at. Turned out it was a lvl ~40 player, so I quickly killed him. When he respawned he came back at me, this time with his Lasso equiped. He kept trying to lasso me to no avail, but since he was still marked as hostile I killed him again.

Any time he wasn't marked hostile, I'd wait until he'd damage me first before I'd kill him. Doing so kept me in Defensive Mode the entire time and prevented him from Pressing Charges against me becuase he was the attacker. We ended up going ~20 to 2 before he finally parlayed. He messaged me claiming I was a "f*ing cheating hacker that was griefing and harassing him" and he was reporting me to Rockstar... All becuase he didn't know how Defensive Mode works.

I would have been laughing my head off. I enjoy surprising them with a LeMat Shotgun shot, no-one ever expects a shotgun round to the chest when you pull out a little revolver.

There is quite the variety of people in the game, for sure

I was playing solo while running a Supply Mission for Crips, which involved stealing a sack of supplies.

While I was scoping the place out to see where guards were, two players rode up to me and one dismounted to wave to me so naturally I waved back.

Next Thing I know I am being hogtied by his partner; but much to my surprise, the guy who had waved at me was now untying me!!!!

This all happened in a matter of seconds; and as I got to my feet, the Guards obviously took offense to what just happened and started attacking these two dudes, so I just ran to the sack of supplies, picked it up and high tailed it out of there!!!!

I thought it was the funniest turn of events ever!!!

I was. Which is why I stayed, just to see how many times I could kill him before he'd so the smart thing and Parley or ride/run away from me.

I was using Gunslinger III, Peak Condition III and Strange Medicine III. He'd be unloading on me, then I'd shoot him once to instantly kill him and refill my health. He even switched to a shotgun, but couldn't figure out why his shotgun was weaker than my pistols... I was "obviously a hacker" becuase:

- My LeMats could instant kill him with a body shot

- My health was instantly refilling whenever I shot

- He couldn't lock-on, lasso, execute or tackle me... Except I could still "lock-on" to him (Becuase being able to accurately free aim means I must be locking on)

- His shotgun was doing less damage to me than other players he's killed

- He couldn't Press Charges against me, only Parley and Respawn

I don't grief, but if someone constantly come after me, and they're an easy kill, I'll kill them everytime. Especially when I can remain in Defensive Mode and avoid having a bounty from the other player. If someone keeps coming back for more instead of using Parley or riding away they're just asking for it. Not all Defensive Mode players are bad at PvP and are easy targets.
