Well, I started RDO yesterday, completed tutorial. Currently I am empty, just 2 gold bars and 200 bucks.

Share the best way to start properly, actually how to earn money and gold if you are empty, which weapons shall I buy first, which missions to do and get food for myself/horse & clothing (It's snowy currently, need smth warm).

I don't have any starter money/gold, preorder or ultimate edition bonuses, just a revolver and carbine which I got in the beginning.

Really feeling wild around, I'd be appreciated to your recommendations! :)

Recently started my 3rd character, so I'm in a good posistion to answer this one. Get your daily challenge rolling to build up enough gold bars to start a profession. Anything missions that pays out gold is your friend here. Took me a few days to scrape enough of it to start my first profession. Chose Bounty hunter, not the best for cash, but it gives gold to unlock further professions. Next is trader/collector, both exellent for cash. The moonshiner, for something more to do.

Stuff to get first: Varmint rifle and Bolt Action Rifle, for your hunting needs. A bow for stealth work / hunting.

Use the roles to Level up, quicker then free-roam missions etc.

My current toon is only 12 days old, rank 42, has all professions unlocked and maxed out trader role. Got the aforementioned guns and am currently dual wielding a pair of volcanic pistols. Also, the ability card slots are filled and maxed.

One thing which is important to mention, is resetting Your awards. You get a gold award for selling 100 Herbs to the doctor. Resetting it givers you some xp and 0.4 gold. And the 25 bucks for the sales. so Your first 1000 Herbs will give you thousands of xp, 250 cash and 4 gold bars. Get pickin!

Thank you for sharing, sounds cool! But still, to get em guns, I gotta get bucks, so are those default weapons enough for missions? And about missions, you mean story missions (Horley, Cripps ones) or there are more other? I don't really know xd

So, I can sell hunted down animals to butcher, herbs to doctor and get food from stores right? Then I move on Bounty Hunter and other roles.

And is there any cheap warm clothing for dis weather?

Craft food from hunted animals and herbs. Go to every building on the map and loot food, jewelry and other supplies.

There a is reasonably cheap wool coat, but level lock might be a problem for a while - which seems unreasonable considering the weather.

Besides the items listed previously, a fishing pole will help you rapidly level up your character's heath. When you unlock lures and can filter out smaller fish in favor of trout and salmon you can make a fairly decent profit. (Fishing still works well with the current glitchy sessions with few animals to hunt._

Hook up with a posse. You can gain access to much more profitable missions. For example, you can earn $250 for riding along on a local delivery of a large trade wagon. What system are you playing on?

There are a lot of easy awards to help earn enough gold to get started on some good roles. It's definitely worth the trouble to review the full list.

The default weapons are just fine for anything PvE. Missions are story missions and free-roam missions (strangers). To get professions rolling, you need gold bars, cash won't help. Cash for more / better guns roll in from professions.

Don't buy food, shoot and skin animals for cooking. All the best food you can craft yourself, everything in the shop is overpriced junk.

Never mind the cold weather, you just need to eat more food to keep your cores filled.

.

Horse-feed: Pick wild Carrots, found in any grassy area. I usually keep some hay (cheapest feed in the stable) in case i run out of carrots.

Alright, thanks! And what's best food for a horse? To keep it's stamina and health cores?

Wild carrots and hay!

Wild carrots are abundant and greatly restores their core. Hay does too but it's 25¢ a pop.

Also, LOOT EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE.

Picking plants can also help. They can be sold to the doctors.

Oh, one more thing:

When doing stranger missions or story missions- take your time! The longer you take, the bigger the payout! Don't rush!

Unlock collector role ASAP. It is the best money and exp in the game. You get lots of exp for turning in full collections. YOu can use the following map to show you where the collectibles are:

https://jeanropke.github.io/RDR2CollectorsMap/

Focus on coins, arrow heads, heirlooms, rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings as they pay the best. You will have no money problems if you do this and you will level your ability cards quickly.

Virtual-Antics

Tame a wild horse and use it with your current horse while out hunting. There's no saddle, and you can't keep it in a stable, but it'll allow you to carry an extra carcass and pelts on the back. (Alongside whatever you're carrying on your owned horse.)

Why not just steal an NPC's horse?

^^^ That's a good suggestion for outlaws. Depends on your honor play style. I mostly play with good honor.

The story missions are a good way to get some shooting skill, as they are all cooperative PvE. The payout you get the first time you play them is substantial (but you get a smaller payoff on subsequent replays).

Start Collector role asap. Lots of xp, lots of money, and only investments needed are a shovel and metal detector.
Online maps provide info for collecting sets which is big money and lots of xp.
Unlike animals Collector items are almost everywhere. Along your way pick herbs that sell for 25 cents each.

Do at least 1 daily challenge each day to get to and keep the .5 gold paid for each completed challenge.
Even with limited time at least one challenge can be completed for 2 days in one short session if logging in a liitle before the list change.
Keep stocked with challenge items and start the session in Saint Denis where some challenges can be quickly completed.

Save your money and gold, use cheap weapons, cheap horses, cheap clothing, and steal anything you can.
After saving money and leveling up you will have a good idea of how you want to spend your money.
More knowledge and experience should also help reduce the frequency of buyers remorse you experience.

Use xp efficiently. Planning on buying the Outlaw Pass and Some ability cards? Wait till then to sell collector sets.

To level up your health quickly, use the bow as much as possible. Unless you like fishing.

To level up dead-eye, just shoot everything that moves.

To level up stamina quickly, go swimming and do lots of cocaine.

Loot everything, use the treasure maps.

Also, pay attention to the daily challenges and do at least one per day (really, do as many as you can), eventually the daily streak will pay 0.5 gold per challenge.

It adds up pretty quick, and usually corresponds to the hunting and collecting you'll be doing anyway.

@CMCSAVAGE is that still actual? In events section it says like "End 19th December 2019", but still stays live.
