Gerald Ford
Hello! I'm currently in Grade 13 (last year of HS in my country). I'm studying IT and I've always been a step in front of what we studied in school (I was studying C# when we were stil learning how to convert numbers from decimal to binaries, PHP and SQL a couple of years ago, while in school we're only doing it now) so I find it kind of boring. I currently know: C# C++ Java HTML CSS PHP SQL I've also used Python (but only on one of those codecademy style courses, I've never managed to develop a Python program, silly me). I've worked with Unity as well. What other languages (being it scripting languages like Javascript or full programming languages) would you advise me to learn to expand my portfolio (especially as full stack web developer, but also for other positions)? What projects could I do to put in my portfolio (not as in new ideas, just as in something complicated enough to matter to someone looking at my resume for example)? Miro
Well I could not see JavaScript on the list, even though you mentioned it, and it's perhaps the last remaining important language to learn. I'd say you know enough, rather than focusing on learning another new one, better try to maximize your knowledge on the ones you know already. I'd go the C# / C++ way rather than the Website Development ones since there's way more income to generate from working in those fields, but it's obviously up to you. My problem is, how do I improve knowledge of a language?
Tsuroki
A lot of the knowledge you already have will be transferable to other languages. It's the "thinking like a programmer" bit that's hard to learn. If you're interested in doing web development specifically, dig into Javascript. A lot of modern stacks build on top of that with React, GraphQL, etc... Wes Bos is a good resource: https://courses.wesbos.com/ Gerald Ford

Thing is a lot of people already want experience on language X or Y, that's why I was asking. Thanks
