mattsgames Posted April 29, 2003 Share Posted April 29, 2003 In This artice it says the sequel to vice city will be released a month before the contract runs out with sony so is this the release date of the new game before it is even announced by Rockstar?. There is a big error in this article the contract was signed with sony after GTA3's release which was in 2001. I think the contract was signed in 2002 because I remeber it was just before vice had been announced because I remember there were a lot of worries about vice coming out for the PC at the time and weather this deal included in the deal and there weren't these worries with GTA3 either way it it is 2005/6 before the exclusivity deal runs out unless it was a 3 year contract but I am pretty sure it was 4 years Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I believe the contract was signed in late 2000, so they may release the next game in October or November 2004. Then release it for Xbox like 1-2 months later, and Gamecube 1-2 months before the PC release. Then the PC Release. If it were signed later, then rockstar might release the game more December 2004, then rerelease all the games for Xbox and GC at the same time shortly after the contract break in 2005 or 2006(that would not be fun.) Sutto Posted April 30, 2003 Author Share Posted April 30, 2003 Well i wasn't around these forums when they thought GTa3 was comming to xbox, I never for one minute thought that, but i beleive this because it makes sense, and also before this info came out i already thought it would be the same deal, but exlusive for xbox (coz nintendo dont normally go for games lke gta) unless Ps2 remade their contract but i here they aren't happy with gta (its a good seller buggered if i know why) so why not! DeathOmen Posted May 1, 2003 Share Posted May 1, 2003 Every one who has a suit case ( opps i mean a xbox ) and a game cube are saying it would be better on that console, and saying cr*p about the ps2 because they dont got one, and the gta series is not out for them yet ( or ever ) why because its not for their console. ( i have a friend and he is all ways saying gta vc is a little kids game its repetive and all that. why, because he cant play it on his console. He has a game cube ) Also it would almost be a waste of time putting it on a differnt console because they already have put it out on a different so the sales will be real low since they have already put it on somthing else. Its like a pieace of red paper with a blue black ground being changed over to a black back ground. Its the same thing but with a different back ground. GTA will ALWAYS be released on PC, thats a given even though it seems it isnt a priority release now. I think the next gta will be on ps2 but after that without a binding contract rock* MAY move on to a more advanced gameing platform however i feel the Playstation console would always get a much better sale number than other consoles. So when ps3 comes out im guessing that will be the next gta platform. Rock* will probably , say for example GTA: SA; do this: GTA: SA realease for ps2 2-6 months later, for PC (the general waiting time) 2.6 months later relaese for Xbox im guessing that would provide rock* with max $$$ wich is what this is all about. ONE more thing, about rock* censoring due to different consoles. They wont/wouldnt/havent Part of GTA's succes is its huge controversy. rock* wont censor anything just for the sake of a few little kids playing it, never have, never will. im done Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Echoes Posted May 2, 2003 Share Posted May 2, 2003 i dont think rockstar want to go over gta3 again for the xbox, they wouldnt get that much money and they would have to waist time trasfering and sh*t. plus by now most people probally got a new ps2 and played gta3 on that, or got it for pc and played it on that, so i doubt they would even go for the box. vice is a diffrent story, but since its arrival for pc, it is also kind of worthless. and besides rockstar knows that alot of people who have ps2 only have ps2 and alot of people who have xbox have both ps2 and xbox, since the year differnece. now the next gta game would deffinatly have the posibility to be realised on xbox, and may infact do so. but really it will be side money. everybody knows the xbox has better specs, but is it really enough of a diffrence to be bitchin' about which one it should go on. its not like a pac-man to pc games today kind of difference. if rockstar wants the money, it will go for ps2 and WAIT for pc like they have. and we dont even know if theyres gonna be anymore gta's after SA, i mean rockstar has a jillian new games its working on and they want series too Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sutto Posted May 2, 2003 Author Share Posted May 2, 2003 Well, for the people who say GTA is a playstation game and will be until 2006, its only until 2004 the contract was from 2000 and signed for 4 years, and once that time is up they might be releasing ports of the games that the other consoles missed out on, maybe even the same disc to boost sales, and xbox could beat any price that sony could offer if xbox wanted them after 2004, bill gates being the richest man in the world (i think he is any way) So i dont think there is anything stopping him after 2004 if he wants to GTA series for xbox Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
