New idea for a Potential Role *spoilers for epilogue*

Hello, heres my idea. Prizefighter Role or a "Fight club" role for the Online part of the game.

 

So heres the context; You know how the epilogue had Charles become an illegal prize fighter and dived matches for cash, and how you could bet on him? I figured that'd make for a wonderful role for the melee enthusiasts in the online mode, where you can run a prize fighting ring, take part in the brawls against NPC's or other players for cash (with pvp fights giving more cash and gold as a result of the increased difficulty) and make bets to have a sort of risk/reward and players in the areas where a pvp fight is at could have a notification that a brawl is in progress and be able to spectate and bet in that fight too (although I figure that'd be a pvp only system), and maybe have a weekly or monthly 5 round tournament where players can watch through the crowd and make bets on the fights in a sort of bracket style pvp matching system, I know that tournament event thing may be a bit difficult to make but hey, I and others think that'd be rad. And why stop at 1v1's? Imagine a 2v2 or 3v3 type of event things at later ranks for the roles where people bet on the team thats gonna win and players beat the hell out of one another. 

 

Heres all you need to do; tweak the melee system to be a bit tighter and a bit more mind game/skill focused instead of a it being a bit button smashy, maybe crate a dedicated minigame for the role where the controls are tight and you get like a light attack, heavy attack, block, and counter all arranged to different buttons, with a sort of stamina system or some such to balance it out so players cant spam. Or just overhaul the melee system to be a lot more tight and satisfying to players that think the melee system is a bit of mindless button mashing (I know the 2nd option is harder but y'know, options and suggestions).

 

The sky is the limit and I know people are creative in the dev team, I got some confidence in this idea that people would sort of flock to this pvp/pve role in the online for some casual or competitive brawling and can be a good source for players that are a bit more twitchy rather than slower and methodical like the Trader or Collector (dont have moonshine yet because of Gold price so I dunno how the gameplay is for that) and if done correctly this can be a pretty popular role within the Online Community. 

 

P.s. I think having a dynamic crowd sound system thing would be cool, like if players bet the vast majority of bets on one player/team and that one player is getting the oblivion beaten outta him, the crowd starts booing or something. Either that or just some standard cheering could be fine too. Just a thought.

It's a good idea; the only downside I see are potential lag-related issues frustrating players expecting consistent, split-second timing for melee moves.

 

It's one thing to engage in an occasional fight with a player; it's another to have a role dependent on working reliably and fairly 100% of the time.
