Ozirambler
As soon as the game was released on the Rockstar games launcher I found that I was unable to play. It would load to the point where the smoke from the shotgun appeared in the very beginning and then it would crash. After updating drivers etc I found that I still couldnt play so I sidelined it for a week. After a week a game update occurred and I found that I could play and so I got about 6 hours in when the another update happened just two days later and that was the end of my journey. Another two updates have gone by along with 3 Nvidea driver updates and I just cant get in. The game loads to the point where the two riders set off in the snow and then the game freezes and crashes with the error message ERR_GFX_STATE. I then tried the suggestion on the RS help site to start the RS games launcher, select settings and then add in the games launch options box -ignorepipelinecache. When I did that I restated the game and it crashed before I even got to the two riders in the snow. I then tried going into my documents, rockstar games, rdr2, settings and deleting the three files that start with sga_. With that one I got to ride the horse in the snow for 10 seconds before it crashed with the same error message. Its more than a little frustrating. Then went onto rockstar games and lodged a ticket telling them everything I had tried, they responded with try the -ignorepipelinecache and closed the ticket. Reopened the ticket and told them it didnt work and that was a week ago. ok my specs AMD Ryzen 5 1600 six-core Processor MB Ab350-gaming 3 16gb ram Nvidea GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Any help would be appreciated Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/941874-cannot-play-game/ Share on other sites

I've always said that Argument code lines are just stupid and shouldn't ever be posted for anyone to use even by the company themselves sure they usually work for some people, but almost always screw things up more often than not. Anyway Part of the problem is you have AMD technology with Nvidia hardware. Both companies are rivals and always doing things to their software which interferes with the other. Another problem is people who get their game from places such as Steam and Epic games. While people can try and argue none of that stuff matters or is relevant, it doesn't change the fact that it does matter and is relevant. Just like people try and argue that Denuvo doesn't interfere with game performance, people try and argue that additional launchers don't interfere with game performance, in fact people arguing neither one does is wrong. Note that any of that is going to change much of anything I was just providing real information people act like aren't factors involved in performance related issues. Anyway here is usable information (I cannot guarantee this will work) it's something to try anyway. Anyway you're most likely going to have to delete the game completely all traces of it, then install it again. and install it in the default directory where the Rockstar launcher puts it. When you're done with that open the install directory and open the folder called: Redistributables and install the VulkanRT-1.1.108.0-Installer.exe then manually reboot your computer. then open the other 2 folders and install the contents of those as well, manually rebooting your computer after each install. DirectX VCRed Post back and let us know if what I posted actually did anything to help solve your problem.
