Can you not buy backup Armor anymore?

you can buy 10 for the interaction menu

If you have any armor in your inventory you can't buy more armor for backup until you've used all the armor you have. Kind of makes the free armor at Christmas a pain since you have to use up all of the light/medium armor before buying more heavy.

This I didn’t know.  Whenever I go to ammo store it only let me put the default one on

I think before the first Casino DLC came out, you could buy 10 of each type, then after casino only 10 total. I don't think anything new changed for this DLC though. I've been buying armor for heists without issues.

You were only able to buy 10, only for the Xmas gift which filled all slots at 10 which had to be used before being able to buy more.  If you still had 10 light you couldn’t buy 10 heavy.

I can only buy 8--it has leveled up periodically but I'm at 101 and can only buy 8 armor [1 wearing, 7 in backup]

I think it maxes out at lvl 120 or 130 

if you do a google search there is a full chart of what unlocks at what level. It’s old but still helpful for the basics.
