Try joining someone in your friends list who’s playing in a different session, and then decline the alert to send you to that session. This works for the moonshine sale missions, so it must work for the character appearance as well. If that somehow doesn’t work, try out Stranger or Bounty missions, and hope for a solo session. I'm also on PC and i tried yesterday evening various times to change my characters appearence... got stuck in endless loading screen. So i thought i might try again today but its still the same. Does declining a request work? (I can't try for now) The way I finally got it to work was by quick joining a pvp job, and immediately exiting to freemode. Another f*ckup by Rockstar, 1 thing they never seem to f*ckup and thats the gold bar store... "It has become a larger known glitch since the update that you can get into a solo lobby by changing your appearance (on all platforms), it wouldnt surprise me if they just blocked it behind no connection until they can figure out how to prevent it. Just some speculation." Its just that the private session wish (many players want that) is the 2nd most asked future on the poll on the GTA RDO forum/website... Something from this update really broke the loading times for several things, because I also get stupidly long loading screens when I try to go back to singleplayer via pause menu. I wondered if it might work from being in a solo lobby so I replayed a moonshiners mission and went to character appearance and it worked right off the bat. Y'all try and report back. I recorded video last night of me just running around aimlessly for 30 real time minutes trying to find animals in a highly populated animal spot. In a lobby that fluctuated between only 12-15 players. Before the update lobbies that small would easily spawn animals. It took having more than 17 players before the spawns went away.
