Best shack location and why?

Just curious, what's the farthest you had to travel? So far, mine was Van Horn fence from the Heartlands shack. Although a friend had one to a shack up by Marco Draco's joint, from the same place.

The shack at moonstone pond is still there for me at least. Haven't bought a moonshiner shack yet though

Henington's stead area, most deliveries are either as far as Tumbleweed, or to that shack south east down by the water. 

Some are much closer too, such as not that far away and south of Tumbleweed a bit. They've all still been in that desert area, for the most part.

 

All of the trails are pretty flat, and nice. There are a couple bumps, where I slowed, like the path right down to the shack by the water.

 

I like how open it is, so you have no trouble targeting revenuers from far off.

Grizzlies. Close proximity to my favorite section of the map, Big Valley, and where I usually get my camp set up close by. And any reason to add more travel to the mountains is a good for me. Not enough happens up there.

Only downside i found was some of the bootlegger missions,  all the way to tumbleweed saloon to escort a drunk ...

Having had shacks at both Tall Tree's and The Heartlands on separate accounts, I ended up moving The Heartlands shack to Tall Trees.  The bootlegger missions for the heartlands was sending me all over the place, long distances compared to the missions in Tall Trees and the few deliveries I did were a PIA.  In Tall trees, the missions are short and sweet and deliveries don't take long, and also you have options on which way you want to go during sell missions so I've actually managed to find routes that I don't get attacked by agents on the way. I may consider moving once I complete the ranks, but for now I like Tall Tree the best

Tall Tree's is by far the best. Out of all the deliveries I've done, the longest travel was to MacFarlane's Ranch and that was pretty much a cake walk. 

 

Mostly all the other locations have been at Quakers Cove or Thieves landing.

Yup. Tall Trees is a pretty good location. The roads aren't that bumpy and corners aren't too tight, so you have less chance of breaking any botlles. 
The most sell locations I got where Quakers Cove, Blackwater and the shack next to the former reservation, just across the Montana River. 
I might hop shack locations later on, to see the other location's bootlegger- and sell mission locations too. Already tried Hennigan's Stead, but didn't like it.

the major problem with hennigans stead..,

it's the road and no other..,

and the road has a high chance of rocks on it..,

let alone this one delivery road that goes down this narrow trench..,

the revenue agents c ant actually get you without being on the edge above you.., but the roads can be annoying.., sometimes you get good routes others you dont..,

All the shacks looking the same from the outside is a bit disappointing to be honest.    Seems lazy and is a bit immersion breaking.  The one in the bayou in particular, really does look like they just jammed it into that area of the map rather than having built in as part of the original environment.

The shacks have been in since the game launched (actually not sure about hennigan, but the others definitely), I commented on another forum around a year ago about finding 4 or 5 shacks that looked the same, meant to go round and takes pics but never got round to it.

I actually moved back to the Heartlands. I’ve been in the Grizzlies, Tall Trees and my current location. Tall Trees is nice, and there’s short runs, but it’s overrun by players. The Heartlands shack has a great location, but you’re sent to the Old Light Saloon in Van Horn constantly. It’s a bit of a trek just to pound on some rival moonshiners. I’ll never get Hennigan’s Stead or the bayou. Those just aren’t for me.

 

I just wish I didn’t have to ride a million miles every time.

I went with the Heartlands. It’s close to the Emerald Ranch fast travel. The train station is also one of the delivery locations when selling so it only takes a couple of minutes to complete.

I chose Bayou just because it is closest to the Saint Denis which is my favourite part of the map.

But there appears to be another pros for choosing this location.

1. You can place your camp very near to the shack, so you have everything relatively close
2. There's a gang hideout spawn close to shack that tend to spawn very often really.

It does confuse me that people think the swamp is the most RP eligible for a moonshine shack. When in real life a swamp would be the worst place too brew alcohol. The water quality is key too making good alcohol and the best water comes from the mountains so really the Grizzlies one is the most rp eligible.
