djb204
I’m about to purchase a moonshine shack but I’m not sure where to put it. Does location matter? If so. What makes one location better then the other? kcole4001

TheLordMarvel
Tall Tree's. Very close to Blackwater, and a fast travel point. I've always wanted to live in Tall Trees. kcole4001, Leftover Pizza and djb204
JumpingKentFlash
I got the grizzlies one. Pretty soon after, I changed to the heartlands one. That’s good. djb204 and kcole4001

Pocket Fox
Heartlands is pretty alright. It's in the shack North from Emerald Station on a little incline. djb204, PabtheFab and kcole4001
Gray-Hand
Are all the shacks brand new buildings? I picked the Bayou, but I don’t recall ever interacting with it. Bayou seems pretty convenient at the moment - Lagras fast travel point is pretty close. I have heard bad things about the Tall Trees missions that end up in Thieves Lansing with endless spawns of locals making fights with the revenue guys a complete clusterf*ck. The Hennigan’s Stead location looks like it would be too far away from a fast travel point to be convenient. But I doubt you would run into hostile players too often. The Heartlands shack looks convenient, but I assumed a lot of people would pick it and I didn’t feel like dealing with other people on day one. No real opinion on the Grizzlies suck, but in general I don’t enjoy riding a horse or driving a cart through the mountains, so that was always going to be a no for me. djb204, Jasmyn, kcole4001 and 2 others
1898
I chose the Grizzlies and like what I see so far. My camp usually spawns close by and the hunting is good so I can keep up with both plus, Wallace Station is close for mail pickups. Edited December 14, 2019 by 1898 djb204, Rev. Jason
Before the update dropped I wanted to run my speakeasy out of St Denis cause it fits what I see for my character but seeing as we can't do that I picked the closest one to it, so the Bayou for me. Good spot from what I've seen too, close to St Denis and not far at all from Rhodes and all the missions + deliveries seem nice and close. djb204 and kcole4001
Bakkerbaard
Started out in Hennigan's, but I found too far away from anything. Now I'm in the Bayou. It's close to a road, which seemed handy, but the one delivery I got there blackscreened, so I can't say much about the practicality of it. So far it seems fine. kcole4001 and djb204

It’s right next to a fast travel post too, which is nice. I haven’t really done many missions to/from there though, so will have to see what they’re like. ALifeOfMisery
I went for the Grizzlies shack, for RP purposes mostly, I've no regrets so far. I seem to be able to reliably pitch camp in one of the two Cattail Pond spots, which makes switching between Moonshiner and Trader easy while I take a break from collecting. DrKrankenstein
picked heartlands, but the volume of players going to the same shack is kinda breaking the immersion that i bought it. thinking of switching to grizzlies(if it makes you go to valentine) or bayou. not sure yet. definatly love the update. to me it's the first role that's actually a role. the bootlegger missions although abitt buggy are very enjoyable. Stupidis
Went with the Bayou since it close to Rhodes and St Denis. I figured deliveries would be made to either cities. So far I've been right. There have been maybe one or two deliveries to other shacks but they have also been close. djb204 and kcole4001

Gray-Hand
The Heartlands, Bayou and Grizzlies shacks are all the same model (on the outside), which is a bit disappointing and makes me think they have dropped in new buildings. All the shacks looking the same from the outside is a bit disappointing to be honest. Seems lazy and is a bit immersion breaking. The one in the bayou in particular, really does look like they just jammed it into that area of the map rather than having built in as part of the original environment. I could be misremembering, but I am pretty sure they have actually removed a little shack/cabin from next to moonstone pond. So I wouldn’t be surprised if the heartlands shack has replaced a previous building. kcole4001
Leftover Pizza
I finally completed a delivery, without disconnects/infinite loading screen/posse fail message. Wasn't bad, had to ride from the Tall Trees location to Black Water. I got a few waves of agents to deal with. I didn't get off road at all and never ran the wagon into anything, but still was only able to deliver 75% of the full load. This role is not gonna get much attention, I'm afraid. kcole4001

It is only "far away from fast travel", if you take the yellow route the game gives you; If you just follow the rock cliff face, to the north, the Armadillo fast travel is not that far. You also don't run into other players generally, if ever. I never see ANY, near the shack at all. So it feels like a "remote" shack that is all mine. I thought it might not be popular there The main reason I like it is exactly what I thought would happen, the terrain is really great. So far the Moonshiner delivery paths are really flat in that area, so low risk of damage. My trader camp is also in the area, as another fast travel option (like the trader camp here, since a resupply is ALWAYS a condor or pronghorn, which are VERY easy to get in this area.) Both of my deliveries, from the Hennigan's Stead Shack area, were delivered at 19/20. The wagon took hardly no damage in the trip, except possibly revenuers who shot at me (when coming to a roadblock of them, I exited the wagon and shot at those guys from behind a rock a ways away, then got back in the wagon.) So even going VERY well, I still lost one bottle at least (in both deliveries.) OH, one of the deliveries "disconnected due to a fault of the Rockstar servers." So as with Trader, I assumed that Moonshine would just be gone, with no reward. Went back to the shack, was happy that it was still full 20/20 to deliver, so started that mission and no problem that time. So this is one good thing, about Moonshiner (have not had a trader delivery again, since Moonshiner dropped, but I assume you still lose it all if disconnect.) The roads are terrible for missions: narrow, twisty with loads of rocks and trees to run into. Aesthetically it fits the theme well, but is really not a very good location. theEwing1979
I chose Hennigan's because I assumed it would be the least popular, from what I've seen so far it seems I was correct. I'm going to scout out the Tall Trees shack tonight though when I get done with tedious real life sh*t, maybe I'll move. Jason
The Bayou spot is great in general. Quick access to Rhodes, St Denis and Lagras, short and sweet deliveries, never have to travel for bootlegger missions. Also a decent spot to do a bit of collectin' while you wait for your moonshine to be made. Winonas, Hiply and Failed Again
