Invade and Persuade RC Tank appreciation and discussion

"If blowing up virtual stuff excites you then just you wait until you read this, imagine an arcade game that was three-dimensional and had destructive consequences. Welcome to the real life! Bring the arcade to the streets of Los Santos with Invade and Persuade RC Tank. It may be a miniature but it's still a tank."

The RC tank returns back to the game series since GTA San Andreas! And now it's based on the classic Metal Slug tank, initially parodied in GTAO on the arcade game "Invade and Persuade".

STATUS: RELEASED

PRICE: $2,275,000 - No trade price available

STORAGE:

It's stored in your inventory menu, you don't need to own any property to buy it, upgrades are applied in any Los Santos Customs.

UNIQUE FEATURES:

Can jump quite high(enough to get on the roof of one-store buildings), can survive FIVE direct homing missile hits, flag in the back has it's own physics like the ones in the Marshall monster truck, Always off-radar like the RC Bandito, so far its the only vehicle in the game we can own and customize WITHOUT NEEDING A GARAGE OF ANY KIND, you call it through the interaction menu.

Unlike the RC Bandito, destroying the tank driven by another player will award you for the kill, for some reason.

PERFORMANCE:

Acceleration seems to be on par with the Rhino Tank but it only has half of its top speed, it can handle bumps much better than the RC Bandito and jumps higher than it, boasts an impressive armor capability of surviving 5 direct RPG/homing missiles(it has a neutral armor like the other tanks) and is nigh invulnerable to physical damage in general(unlike the RC Bandito and the Nano Drone).

In general it works exactly like the RC Bandito, while doing somethings better but lacking in other areas, also comes with the same set of limitations(can't use it on missions and free roam jobs, can't get in shops, same two-minute cooldown per use, etc...)

CUSTOMIZATION:

Liveries(all liveries are different types of camos);

Respray(primary only)

Weapons(stock weapon, Flamethrower, Rockets, Plasma canon).

WEAPONS:

Stock weapon(machine gun): Costs $1,000 - Rate of fire is not slow,

but also not ideal for a machine gun(it's a bit slower than the Valkyre/hunter canons operated by the Co-pilot), damage output is subpar as it takes about 4 direct hits into a player's body or even a NPC body to kill them, range is average, I'd say about 50 meters...Not great, not terrible.

Flamethrower: Costs $115,000 - Incredibly short and limited range(about 3 meters) but delivers amazing damage output, will blow up a car easily but be advised that you might get set on fire while using it(same issue as the Cerberus's flamethrower).

Rockets(tank canon): Costs $225,000 - Works pretty much like the Rhino and Khanjali canons, but damage output is much weaker as it will take 2 direct hits to blow up any unarmored vehicle and also 2 direct hits to kill a player but since the impact will make them rag doll it won't be hard to finish them off, think of it like the explosive rounds of your Heavy Sniper Mk2, range is very limited(15 meters...You can't even hit police helicopters with it) so you will have to approach your targets very close, rate of fire is quite slow(I think it's 3 seconds per shot) so you gotta make those shots count and hit your target.

Plasma Canon: Costs $285,000 - Boasts very long range(about 100 meters) and great rate of fire like a machine gun, but the blueish rounds will give away your position so you might have better chances of taking out targets from afar. Damage output is very poor, taking about 10 shots to kill a player...So it's better to use this against NPCs.

To sum it up:

Stock weapon: Average damage, average range, average rate of fire - Boring.

Flamethrower: Great damage, very poor range, constant rate of fire - High risk, high reward.

Rockets: Good damage, poor range, very poor rate of fire - interesting if you play your cards right.

Plasma canon: Very poor damage, Great range, great rate of fire - Aim for headshots.

In general it's a cute little toy to mess with tryhards and goof around but nothing more, it's also too expensive for what it's worth...Maybe if it were a million less, those who got it for free scored a great deal though as this tank doesn't take any storage space.

It's cute! I wonder how it'll fare compared to the likes of the Bandito, though.

I would imagine that it's controlled like the nano drone, i.e. the player remains on the map and can be killed.

If it worked like the Bandito in that it removes you from the map and radar, then I think it would be too powerful.

My guess would be the arcade.

My guess it that this will be stored in our arcades, just like the RC Bandito is stored in the arena war workshop.

EDIT: its stored in our inventory menu, you don't need to own any warehouse to buy and store this.

Looks like it works similar to the Bandito by removing you from the map, probably off-radar, too:

Yellow Dog with Cone

So apparently, this thing can take like 9 rockets to blow it up, what the f*ck, that's 8 rockets too many.

Because the RC Bandito wasn't overpowered enough.

Standard Deluxe 59

Looks cool, I'll be sure to grab a free one on Christmas Day. Could be fun to ruin some beachfront marksman waltz parties with but it will suck for those who are just going about their day.

It honestly seems like Rockstar thought, "hey, people aren't griefing with the Bandito enough."

Does anybody know for sure whether or not you're off the radar while using this?

I was looking for this topic! Almost created my own. And yeah I agree, its clearly based on Metal Slug tanks:

Spoiler

Ever since I've seen that thing in Invade and Persuade 2 I was sure they gonna add it at some point. Especially since that metal slug tank was a very popular PC mod.

Now I'm thinking the next thing might be that small military drone:

But tbh I would rather take those retro RC planes and helis from Vice City:

Yeah R* just can't stop themselves from adding intentionally overpowered vehicles for destroying cargo... who cares about balancing the game, right? 2 RPG shots should be MAX for taking down something like this (+ weak spot on the back)

It's not like these will be quick enough to chase down cargo. It's certainly more convenient to camp cargo with than the Bandito (since it has an actual cannon instead of having to suicide-bomb), but then the Akula has already existed for some time.

I just don't think it's gonna be a game-changer in terms of cargo griefing like you're making it out to be. Farming cheap kills, sure, but actually griefing with it will require effort (which is a whole lot more than the Broomstick II).

Well its surly quicker than Bandito. But I guess you right, its more of a money waster cause everyone will keep buying more rpgs and c4s to survive. Still that armor is just ridiculous. Bombushka goes down after 1 but RC toy is 9x stronger? makes sense...

Yeah, couldn't have said it better. I wish I could make myself buy that plane, but the disadvantages are so many that it just doesn't make sense at all for me. Now, I know I'm being off-topic, but has that cargo bay glitch been fixed? If it is even a glitch after all, and not intentionally broken.

Good thing this tank is going to be free, looks both hella fun and actually pretty useful for some situations. I'm not really worried about it at all, in my opinion it will hardly ever be a griefing meta or even a common sight for long. Range seems not that great from what I've seen so far, and it's pretty easy to outrun if you can get a vehicle before it gets close. It might be great for a cheap surprise kill though, but what's that in a world of Orbital Cannons and Opressors?

Do you mean the invisible wall that was placed to block the cargo bay? You can still use it if your Bombushka only has Armor, Engine, Handling, Respray modifications; nothing else.

So...off radar or nah? Kinda wanna sneak up on some unsuspecting newbies and torch 'em. 😛

I was hoping the standard MG had the long range of the in-game .50 cal, but it doesn't. It also has poor elevation angles. I thought maybe I could take shots at flying Mk IIs with the RC tank but that won't be the case.
