I can confirm about train smoke, has gone for me too, but more annoyng is that v-sync problem because sometime work and other times dont :( Before last patch i never encountered these problems and i could say even the FPS was more stable.

Yeah, train smoke is definitely gone here too in single player. All other smoke sources are fine though. Wonder if changing particle settings would do anything. Just did a really long play session without any crashing btw.

 

Also, people, please use the bug report thread for specific bug descriptions so we can have an easy to see database of bugs, as long as they're PC specific and not stuff that's on consoles too.

who has lost the smoke of the train, set the quality of the particles to an average value and it will appear again.

First time i have see bug in this game is with this last patch dissapearing smoke from train, few days ago smoke was there.

Can anyone confirm that — setting particle quality medium or lower renders the smoke stacks correctly?

Particle quality on Medium here, and the train smoke shows up for me everytime.

At least they are telling the truth here, by just removing train smoke on high and ultra Particle Settings, it really improves performance on high-end CPUs because Users with high-end CPUs actually HAVE set particle effects to high or Ultra :D :D :D

Only a minority of people are seeing this bug, it's probably related to cache or something, majority of people are seeing particles normally.

Bloatware, my game currently sits at 122 GB. This update was 8gb, for me single player fixes, as I never intend to use Online.

Good grief, in the end how large will this game be after the end of its cycle?

 

More reason for the online component of this game to be separate from the main game.

After the update I get sometimes a grey flickering bug for a split second. Maybe related to volumetrics, because I'm experiencing it primarily when mist is appearing in the morning in camp.

Wtf happened with trible buff and v-sync after patch?

 

Hate rockstar! Everything were perfect before thit patch! Settings of triple buf/v-sync doesn't change image! It looks like it activate in either way even wht off.

It works here, V-Sync turns off if I turn it off. If you're using DX12, check if full screen optimisations aren't enabled.

Right click your RDR2 shortcut (if you're on Steam, then you need to go to the game directory and do it in RDR2.exe), then Properties and it's in the Compatibility tab.

vsync does work for me if I use Windowed Borderless.

It does NOT work if I am using Fullscreen.

I am using Vulcan.

It sorta does because with Windowed Borderless it's using Windows and its desktop manager for vsync, while Fullscreen in theory uses the game's vsync. However I use fullscreen with Vulkan without an issue, so not sure what could be causing that. Also one of the reasons I said to try disabling Full Screen Optimisations in the properties of RDR2.exe as sometimes Windows overrides fullscreen games.

I definitely got a couple of frames less on my 980 with this patch :(

It's less pleasant to play, since places like Valentine are now stuttering as well!

 

I also have some notifications from other windows apps displaying on top of the game, while they were staying under before. 

However, it seems that the game bar is not saying it is incompatible anymore.

This is actually ~the cause of a lot of stuttering issues with games on Windows 10. Windows 10 insists on staying on top and interfering with the graphics renderer, which is why I always suggest to disable Full Screen Optimisations and stuff like the Game Bar if you don't use it.

Seems it is gone, but wasn't the previous game bar version had a 'game mode' where performance was improved by disabling/throttling other tasks while the game was running?

 

What do you mean by 'Full Screen Optimisations'?
