After driving both in a bunch of modded OWR on PS4, the R88 is easily my favorite, even stock. It's way snappier in my experience although seems slower on the straights. The R88 has better liveries too IMO, can wait to get it and apply the Air Emu livery with non metallic paint. Just search on social club with keywords OW, F1, and set upload timeframe to this week. If you can't find any then at least the R* created ones will be out tomorrow, here's hoping they're good and that the creator won't be far behind. They've been pretty on top of deleting the OW races I've found, and I'm surprised they haven't just banned the person whose been uploading them.. I think Rockstar missed out Index 15 for the "Large Rectangular Wing" on the R88, hence the value being 1.00 instead of something like 1.75. Debesta Posted February 27, 2020 Share Posted February 27, 2020 I decided to do some quick testing with different builds (high traction/low speed, high speed/low traction, mid/mid, etc.) and found that the best build in every case is High speed/low traction. The amount of top speed lost between ht/ls and hs/lt seems to be over 5mph. The cars already have so much traction that no track justifies that loss in top speed. Even with the most technical of tracks (Vinewood hills), you can full speed the entire track except 90 degree turns, with the lowest traction build possible. Not even the highest traction build can make it around one of those 90 degree turns so there's no reason to take the loss to top speed. I don't see any point in attempting a serious racing sim in GTAO, when all the true car stats are buried in the game coding and they just keep adding hidden coding on top of it. The more they do this, the more datamining happens to discover the META. This results is everything looking the same, save for color and such. This is just my personal feelings tho. There are only nine liveries, instead of eleven. Too bad, because I can't finish my Lotus 78 inspired build, which requires Pisswasser Racing livery. (Or do the old LSC pearl glitch with a classic color.) Classic Gold is just Straw Brown with Straw Brown pearl. Metallic Gold is its own color. BTW, how do you like the Progen tee? That damn Progen tshirt is my favorite part about today and thats factoring in what an A1 addition these cars and races are. Having a hard time finding a downforce config I like for the R88. Might just have to buy another and another PR4 as well so I can have the best of both worlds for each car. I'm cash flush and I already own everything else, might as well. Rockstar did a PHENOMENAL job with these cars. Hopefully they don't wait too long to add more tracks as well as the creator update to make them ourselves.
