Front and rear bumpers are naff too. I opted to keep the "stock" rally arches.

 

Seems to drive quite well though, haven't found a paintscheme I'm happy with - my Mk1 uses a livery to get as close to the Alan Mann cars of the era as possible. Was kind of hoping for a livery that was close to the Rothmans one of the works cars :

I believe the Jakey's Lager livery on the Mk 2 is supposed to be Martini:

I can't stop playing rally playlists now that literally every single rally car I've wanted has been added to the game. The flags kinda ruined the GB200, Michelli, and Flash GT for me, but the Retinues, Tropos and Omnis, Comet Safari, Sentinel Classic and Sultan Classic are all pretty much perfect. The love that rally cars have gotten from R* is pretty insane when you mull it over, even if it has been peppered in every update or so going on 7 years give or take. 

 

The Mk2 with the first suspension upgrade feels best to me. I've been running it with stock/tuner tires but have been meaning to try off road tires. Is the Mk2 one of the cars that benefits from having OR tires?

Yes, the Mk 2 benefits from off-road tires.

Not really a rally car and not raceable either, but very fun to go offroading with it. It has the bouncy flag but also good suspension.

 

My favorite garage is a rally/off-road garage with the Issi Classic, Apo Issi, Injection, Comet Safari, Retinue, and Michelli GT. They all got the black-on-white-circle racing numbers; Injection through a crew emblem. The Issi Classic has the advanced flags that affect the engine but also an off-road grip loss of 0.3, meaning it doesn't get slowed down much offroad.

The only time I use my Issi Classic and Sport is for dirt stuff. We need one more old, slow rally car to go with the Issi Classic, Fagaloa, Michelli and Nebula Turbo.. I can't think of what though, most of my suggestions are for 80s stuff like a Lampadati based on the Delta, and the Uranus.

For a new rally car I'd love to see Rockstar mash together a Peugeot 205 and a Renault 5.

 

But please with a livery reference to Thomas Sankara, a revolutionary who sold the state's fleet of Mercedes-Benzes and replaced them with R5s, the cheapest car available at the time. 😂

Are we not talking about how much of a monster this is on races?

 

On this week's premium race I got a lap time of 00'56"958 with it, Not really bothering with curb boosting but following the optimal lines.

 

With the Turismo Classic, by comparison, my best was 00'58"025, also not curb boosting but following the optimal lines and watching out for oversteer at T2 and T4.

 

Its overpowered as f*ck not only on rally races but also on tarmac tracks.

 

BTW my Retinue Mk2 is on the level 1 suspension with off road wheels because I'm never putting that stupid cambered suspension on it.

I guess because no one ever really races with it. I guess we could chock this one up into the category of rockstar logic, a mid 70's Escort is quicker than an F40.

@Pedinhuh, interesting. I just gave the track a try and got a 57:431 with the Cheetah Classic in a solo race. I will have to see if I can beat that with the Retinue Mk II. The track got some really nasty bumps so I can see how it might be at an advantage.

Yep, especially with the lowest suspension.

 

 

Got a 56 something second lap time both times. Should have taken a screenshot. 

 

EDIT: I just looked back at the clip. I slowed it down to 0:25x. On my second lap, it looks like I hit a 56.003. I'm sure someone has gotten a 55 second lap.

I see you struggle a little at T2, you can take that corner flat-out but you need the ground clearance, give level 1 suspension a try and see for yourself.

That's T4, I mean the second turn after the start/finish checkpoint, the one where you have to go over the medium to properly nail the apex.

There are pros and cons of having it and removing it.

 

I'm in favor of removing it purely because the slipstream messes with my lap times due to the reduced traction and braking power.

@éX-Driver unfortunately the Retinue Mk II can't have a front bumper (meaning the actual black bumper), or mudflaps.

 

The customization is weird on this one in terms of options, e.g. there is a lack of some aspects and a superfluity of others; most liveries don't work with the different fenders options, etc. But it's fun to drive and you can make a few good looking cars out of it.

That’s fine, close as is good enough. I’m hoping and praying the Mk1 and Mk2 end up on the wheel or severely discounted in the near future, because I desperately want both but am not willing to pay nearly 2 million quid for the privilege. And I want something to wank over until the opportunity arises

 

It’s definitely missing liveries, which sucks. No RS1800 or Mexico stripes, no McRae one, no Ken Block hoonigan ones. The Mk1 Retinue has the same problem. Still want them

This is one of my favourite cars. It feels punchy to drive like you’d need headrests.

 

its got the rarity bonus too, cos who in their right mind would pay over a million for a 30k max mk2 escort

 

plus I had a gap between my retinue mk1 and flash gt

You can actually get a lap time as quick as 53 seconds if you get all the curb boosts and brake boosting points down.

Was gonna actually gonna hit a 55 second lap time... until a random f*cking pedestrian walking on the sidewalk got steamrolled by my Retinue, slowing me down. Thanks a lot, Cockstar.
