Well, they obviously would be testing this stuff IN HOUSE too.

I can't believe that just testing it themselves, they did not have the bugs like the "forever loading" screen (where you lose your whole moonshine shipment, etc.)

I've already commented on the roles lack of depth and progression so I'll leave that alone for now, but the buyers resetting every 96 minutes is really, really, really f*cking stupid.

If you've got less than 30 minutes til the reset you're basically having to hope and pray that you get the same buyer when the reset happens, or waiting until the reset. It's bizarre design. Once you've picked your flavouring the buyer should be locked in at the price/exp you're going to get from completion.

I can only assume their thinking is that they want players to sit on a ready to deliver batch for when the price is right but in reality it just doesn't work.

this is why I wanted to have the times in real life, when the buyers reset, its the follwing (in german time):

1:00, 2:36, 4:12, 5:48, 7:24, 9:00, 10:36, 12:12, 13:48, 15:24, 17:00, 18:36, 20:12, 21:48, 23:24.

If you take a look at the time, before you start the production by buying mash, you dont need luck anymore, you can find your best way concerning the timing.

OK,

strange bug, which reseted my close to finish production:

my moonshine production was close to finish, when it suddenly reseted and was no more active.
My connection didnt crashed, I havent left the game, it appeared when I was in the moonshine menu.

The more I play it the more I'm like.... they could've actually done some cool stuff with this but outside of the speakeasy (which has a lot of cool details), they really put the bare minimum effort into the running the illegal moonshine part of the business.

 *snip*

I'm wondering if this is going to change down the road. They will stop giving us the flavoring berries/herbs etc and we're going to have to gather those ourselves, then maybe have us involved with the mash. I've had 3 sales disappear so far but really didn't care since I put almost no effort into it. I'm still way ahead.

That's going to happen regardless. You get 4 Moonshine ingredients parcels (rank 18, 28, 39, 84), once you use up what  you got, you're gonna have to source it yourself.

I'm not really sure what was in them, since I was pretty well stocked up on most of the crap prior.

You DO have to gather the berries and herbs for flavoring.  If you already had them, it's because you had them in your satchel whether gifted from the outlaw pass or previously gathered yourself.

I got ninja'd

On a side note, by far the best addition with the update is the drunk slapping(my apologies to the randoms that entered my shack to be greeted with a drunken slap to the face)

Correct, that's what I meant when I said they will stop handing them out. I think something will change with the mash also.

Buy mash, add flavoring, 2 min. later it says unflavored and isn't producing. Add flavoring again, it's producing, go do some sh*t, come back 20 min. later and same fkn thing, unflavored and isn't even producing the unflavored.

So I do it all a 3rd time, same thing. Shut the game off, get back on and try for one more shot. Yay, it worked, except when I went to sell, reverencing loading screen. I tell ya, this fkn game lol.

When this role does work, I like it quite a bit.  The saloon and band are great.  I do hope they add more features like passive income for the saloon.  Doesn't have to be much...just so these drunks aren't freeloading.

So what's the daily fee for the shack, if there's one?

I have enough gold to unlock the role and all but I'm hesitant. I quite like being a wanderer with only a camp and nothing more. I feel like owning a bar and stuff kinda void this roleplay aspect. It doesn't fit my character neither.

You can get completely sh*tfaced in your speakeasy, but as soon as you exit your shack, you're all sobered up again.

There is none.

That's... surprisingly good. After GTA:O you'd think there would be one or something similar but instead we buy the shack and that's about it. That's really cool.

Thanks for the answer!

The band is incredible lmao. Didn’t realise I could actually play or dance. Just got drunk with my posse member and we started slapping each other lol. Most fun I’ve had in this game for a while.

Best part of the update IMO.

Does anyone know if purchasing the upgraded condenser is necessary?  As in, can I hold out to unlock the copper upgrade at rank 10 and still produce the GOOD stuff? Or is it kinda like the trader medium wagon, you had to buy it to get the large wagon?

As @CMCSAVAGEsaid, maybe in another thread, testing will have probably been carried out in private, low pop lobbies, which we all know makes for a far more stable game.

The infinite loading screens could be caused by things like another player already undertaking an activity in the same place as the destination of the mission RNG chose for your moonshine sale or bootlegger mission, as so many of these places are used multiple times.

I'm not making excuses, my experience of this DLC so far has been p*ss poor. R* should decrease lobby population and put you in a solo lobby if the mission you start overlaps with another players current activity.

I only had 5 delivery destinations, and I know that nothing goes on around any of them. (Emerald Ranch Fence, Van Horn Fence, Guthrie Farm, Larned Sod and Butcher Creek) There's a story and moonshiner story that involves two of the places, but they're instanced (Van Horn and Butcher Creek).

Even if by chance, someone with the same shack launched a delivery at the same time, to prevent two wagons spawning, you'd just go into a loading queue, it wouldn't be infinite. Personally, besides not being able to launch the two bootlegger missions I tried, I had no other issues until yesterday.

I've had delivery missions from the Grizzlies shack going to the ranch SW of Valentine, where a bounty mission definitely takes place and I think a trader mission occurs, although I could be wrong about that one.

It was only a theory, I've said many times I don't have any knowledge of how these things work on a technical level.

I wish I'd had similar luck to you with moonshine missions, I'm still experiencing a lot of bugs.

I did this and attempted a sale mission.

My vision was fine, but the wagon was all over the place from my drinking.

After thinking about it, there is a Trader sale that goes to Van Horn. Who knows, but you'd think that they would've taken into consideration any activity that would cause conflict.

Yeah you would think.

Even if such things haven't been taken into account, you could be correct about loading queues as opposed to "infinite" loading screens, I just don't have the patience or inclination to wait it out on a black screen to test whether my mission will load after 5 or 10 minutes if it actually was another players activity blocking my own from loading, I'll give it 90 seconds to 2 minutes maximum before closing app.

It could be that too much is happening lobby wide and the game sh*ts itself or numerous other possible reasons which I don't have the knowledge to think of.

I'm waiting for the patch notes that say;

Improvements to networking have been made that will reduce the frequency of problems with Moonshiner sales in large Red Dead Online sessions...🤣

One of the most infuriating things I've ever read in patch notes, because there's a very obvious fix to the problem of instability in "large" sessions, reduce the cap so they can't become "large".

I guess their definition of "large" is what 16-18 players? So wtf would 24 be, extra large? lol. After reading that BS again, they never actually say that anything was fixed. What they say is, "will reduce the frequency of problems".

All that says to me is, that we should still expect problems but not as much in sessions that they define as "large".

I had the same thing: my first three or four (I can’t remember which) productions just disappeared into the ether as if they never existed, but my mash money and flavour ingredients stayed gone.

Thankfully after that that I haven’t had any problems. I stopped switching sessions or joining other posses after starting moonshine production: I have no idea if that did anything, but thought I’d mention it just in case.

I had that for the first few seconds only thankfully. But when I did a delivery with genesis, both of us tanked, when he was running he kept falling over. He’d fire off a few rounds, kill a dude, run three steps, and then faceplant. It was hilarious to watch 😂

Too late now, but what I did notice, every time that happened and I went to buy new mash, the mash bar was gray.  I haven't had an issue when it's red like it's supposed to be when empty.
