I took the Grizzlies.  Close to good hunting grounds in the Watsons of West Elizabeth, Bounty Board at the nearby train station, and shortest distance from any shack location to “city amenities” without having to swim through a river or a swamp (Valentine).

 

I’m liking it so far as the deliveries are easy, the routes are few and predictable, and every RA checkpoint is easily seen from afar allowing me to snipe all the agents without them having a chance to retaliate.  Actually got my quickscope buckle doing this.

Camp is not 100% fixed.  I chose the spawn into camp option to start today, and it spawned me in the spot my last camp, but it wasn’t my camp but another player’s camp.  Had to spawn it somewhere else”

I did Hennington's Stead (Moonshiner Camp.) If the camp is not nearby, it is a short distance following the rock wall to the North, to Armadillo and that fast travel post.

 

I put my regular camp in the desert area, because there is always a condor (Rio Lobo Rock, or on the way to it) or pronghorn (groups), even when no animals are spawning(for resupply mission.)

 

So put the Moonshiner shack there. Seems to be working out well, since the paths you take are mainly flat, not winding around/narrow, or too bumpy.

 

19/20 bottles, on two deliveries. I think it is the revenuers shooting, which does enough damage eventually that at least one bottle is lost.

 

Got a "disconnected" in the middle of one, so I assumed it would all be gone (as with trader.) I got back in game and it was still a full 20/20 ready to be delivered at the Moonshiner Shack (so that is good.) I've not checked the forums enough, or had my regular camp ready for a trader delivery, so I don't know if it is doing the same thing with that (if disconnected.) It has always caused me to lose my goods, though, so I would guess it won't? (even though the moonshiner one does.)

 

The "Buyers" thing seems weird; Selected evergreen something, because a couple of the buyers showed $82.50 for it. When it was done being made, so ready to deliver, then it was only one guy in the list who was paying $52 for it. BAIT AND SWITCH!

Seems to be when I start a bootlegger mission that’s an escort one it works fine but the one where you have to deal with the agents has got stuck at the loading screen 3 out of 4 times and I have to restart the game.

Also this has happened twice as well now during a delivery it randomly fails because of my posse? Very annoying as you lose the 20 moonshine you were about to deliver

I’ve had my first four 20 bottle batches all completely disappear before I could sell them. I’m wondering if I should just give up on the Moonshine role altogether.

 

Am I doing something wrong? Does joining someone else’s posse, or joining an FRE or Showdown, or hopping sessions, just delete all of your Moonshine stock? So far I’ve bought four lots of mash and it’s just all disappeared into the ether.

Yesterday it happened for the first time that I couldnt even buy mash. It was greyed out. I was only having buyers for weak moonshine in the list although I already unlocked the strong one.

Happened to me once and happened to a posse member once too.  Black screen with a spinning cylinder in the corner.

 

On both occasions, the posse leader started the mission while a team member was waiting outside.  Not sure if that’s What causes it.  

 

The team leader got stuck. The posse member was still able to complete the mission and get paid and earn experience.  The leader didn’t appear to get anything.

There are a limited number of buyers available at a time, more than the recipes available. So if you make a batch that nobody wants, you won't get full value for it. Max value being $225.

If you go to the Moonshining table, click flavors, it will tell you the time until the buyers switch. 
As for the Flavor itself, it only takes 10 minutes for it to apply. So if you see the buyers are going to switch, hold off on adding the Flavor until they do.

Hmm, maybe i've been lucky? I'm on the regular Xbox One and not having the loading black screen problems, which other people are reporting here.

Nope, you have until the last 10-11 minutes. I have all this broken down in my thread. 
I'm on the regular XB1 and I've lost at least 4 sales this way.

Im not sure, but I think there is a point in production, when you cant add a flavour anymore, because its too late.

then you have to sell the raw moonshine without flavour ....correct me if im wrong

Flavor will be not an option once all 20 bottles have been made.
Flavor will be pointless to add if there is less than 10 minutes left on production as there will not be enough to add it (Flavor takes 10 minutes to add).

so in both situations, the "add flavour" is greyed out?

because I had the option greyed out, while production the basic moonshine was still running.

So after your theory, I had less then 10 minutes left....

You can drive past those guys if you go slow. The red area will disappear and they'll tell you move on.

 

You had a buyer reset before it was ready to sell. What sucks, is that you can't see the reset time until after you start a batch. It's happened to me, but I'm not doing this for the money so I just sell, you get the same XP regardless.

Not theory, this is what I've tested, multiple times, again and again, and spreadsheeted the results. If this is not your experience, one or the other of us is experiencing a glitch. 
Flavor is greyed out for me either before I start the mash and after 20 bottles have been made.

It seems to be randomized:

  • Revenue Men Checkpoint happen during Moonshine Sales. There are 4 scenarios that can happen
    • You can run right through- they start shooting immediately
    • They can wave you through the checkpoint
    • You stop, they search, find shine, and immediately start shooting
    • You stop, they search, not care about what you got, and wave you through.

If I add a flavour, the moonshine is named immediatly, theres is no info shown about 10 minutes ingame...

With a stop watch...
Once you add the flavor there will be a bar on the upper right of your screen. So once I add flavor I sit with a stop watch and stare at that bar. When the bar is full, I stop the stop watch. This gives me the time that it takes to apply the flavor. 
Once you have applied the flavor you can also change the flavor to something else, as long as you haven't finished producing all 20 bottles. 


To answer your problem of switching Buyers, let me help with this example:
I start Strong Mash. This takes 60 minutes. 
I look at the Flavors and see that the Buyers will change in 20 minutes. 
So I do not add the Flavor.

I come back 20 minutes later, see what the new buyers want, then add the flavor. 

 

There is a chance that the moon aligns perfectly and you won't have time to add the flavor in time for the new Buyers. This is when you have to take a gamble and guess.

If you add/change flavoring with less than 10 minutes left you will not be able to sell until the flavoring is finished. 


One thing that should make this all easier is that the Buyers times are tied to the in game clock. They switch over at midnight, in game time, every two days regardless if you are online or not. 
Every in game hour is 2 minutes, or 48 minutes for a full 24. 
So a:

Weak batch takes 30 minutes or 15 in game hours

Average takes 45 minutes or 22.5 hours

Strong takes 60 minutes or 30 hours or 1 day 6 hours in game.
