He could be right. It might be scrapped. There was always the possibility that it got scrapped as it's not the first time Microsoft abandoned a product that was almost ready to launch. 

 

However, a couple of points he brought up, can be debated. For example, the issue of us not hearing about it yet is still because we still have June and July for Xbox events. June event is going to focus on hardware and services like xCloud, with a few more games apparently and not sure about July but could be exclusives. The other reason is pricing. Phil Spencer said they will have to be agile on pricing and MS CEO has given the green-light to go "all-in" on gaming.  Take from that what you will but it sounds as if MS are waiting to see how much the PS5 is going to retail at and then then undercut it or meet it.. As it stands, the Series X, the services and backwards compat seem like a strong enough contenter to go against the PS5 alone. However, PS have extraordinary success, it will take something really aggressive to secure a majority share of the console market.

I don't think anyone has ever thought it was a nightmare to explain different products. "One is more powerful" would probably suffice   People that mostly play FIFA/Madden and a CoD, Dads with little gaming time, will go for Lockhart, no bother. And, it's supposed perform better than the One X. But lets face it, if you bought a One X, you'll probably be buying a Series X. Nobody will upgrade from a One X to a Lockhart, wouldn't make sense. It would be an improvement, certainly, just not a huge leap.

This is taken from the same writer on another article entitled "Sony’s Philosophy Of PS5 Games Is Correct, Despite Microsoft’s Focus" We know MS said 1-2 years,  but I think we can see where his bias is. If it's not bias then it's poor/dishonest/misleading journalism. 

 

I think Lockhart is still on the cards and there's a good chance we'll see a reveal of it this month. Either that or when the prices for PS5 and XSX is revealed then we will see Lockhart. 

 

Edit: @OmarMohammed: Definitely wait. If you can get the XSX, wait. If you can't get the XSX, Lockhart might be announced and that will be more powerful than a One X.

Rumours about MS's July event starting to circle around. Big claims from some journalists about what the event will be, some crazy price suggestions (which I personally don't buy) but also claiming the event is gonna be mic drop after mic drop too.

 

Heard much of the same stuff about Sony's PS5 showcase which wasn't all that mind blowing in the end, so we'll see. The MS event is rumoured to be early July though so it shouldn't be to far away now.

Yeah, I'm not impressed with Microsoft doing a deal with Facebook. Facebook are shady af, and the platform is awful. Never even heard of Facebook Gaming. It's a pity Mixer didn't work out. It wasn't bad, as far as game-streaming apps go.

 

Everything about Facebook to me is just tacky. I don't like the UI, it's cluttered, it's annoying. I really with some other social media platform would take over and Facebook go in the way of MySpace.

The writing has been on the wall for a few months. Mixer grew 0.2% in the past year over the previous year, which is dwarfed by the growth of Twitch, YouTube and especially Facebook, which had the largest growth out of the four.

 

The worry for Xbox users right now from what I've heard is that MS has a Mixer section on it's dashboard and people are concerned that's going to become a Facebook section, which would be uhhhhhh.

 

But anyway, I'm really not surprised by the news tbh cause Mixer had many areas it needed to catch up to Twitch and even YouTube on when it launched but they never seemed to make any progress. It's still sad nonetheless as Mixer led to the various sites stepping up their game especially when it comes to stability for the streamers and while I have zero desire to use Facebook streaming I hope they continue to improve because Twitch has stagnated feature wise for years and needs the kick up the arse.

Yeah.  This seemed to have generated some chatter...and a bit of Facebook crankiness.

A lot is going on.  It seems Facebook's big days are numbered.

 

Why can't the larger tech companies just 'know' when they need to withdraw (or not even enter) their attempt at a new interest?

 

On a Series X related topic:

I'm looking forward to how xCloud will change when they switch over to a series x backend.  Too lazy to dig up an article...but it's happening.

 

What I really want to see with xCloud is an xbox app that I can use to leverage it and play on the tv.  Until then I'll continue via the tablet.

Facebook and M$ have already been together in some aspects. You can link your Gamertag to your FB account in the settings.

 

Either way, this isn't a merger. More like moving over partnered streamers with the Mixer name and domains.

You know I've never been one for performance, pixel-counting or graphics. I really was only concerned to play games I like. 30fps games don't bother me. I mean they will when I play more games at 60fps but not really. But now I'm paying more attention to the conversation of performance and I suppose I'm interested now.

 

This just another little thing in the many things that's going for Series X. When I'm buying a game that I all ready want and know I'll be satisfied playing, I know this little green badge is just going to be the cherry on top

Yeah, this guy is a huge YouTube troll, I think he even got banned once but somehow came back. I actually encountered him and he was just calling me an idiot fanboy pony slave or other stuff like that

Yeah, I just ignore cancerous, pathetic individuals like that. If someone wants to make a legitimate point or debate something, that's fine. But troll fanboys should be ignored. Don't give them a reason to post. Don't feed the trolls as they say.

 

I'm also confused as to why someone on Reddit would actually go to bother of reposting it. It's such an inane post and thousands of posts can be found like this under any video from fanboys of Sony and Xbox. They're actually spreading troll content instead of letting it die and fall to the bottom.

After over 6 years I've given up hope that this small, extremely insignificant, but incredibly simple feature will be added. So I will hope they rectify this error on the Series X...

 

Can we please have the option to choose a 12 hour or 24 hour time format!? Why is that option not available, when it's a basic option on any other hardware!!!!???

I'm a stickler for 24 our time format. For some reason I got in the habit of writing in 24hr format. It just makes more sense. Especially when you have friends in other timezones. There's never any confusion when you write in 24hr format. 

 

Some news(ish)... The big event is most likely on the 23rd of this month. Insiders are saying Lockhart wont be shown at this event but at the August event. July's event is going to focus on games. 

 

All these rumours about a Perfect Dark Zero reboot are circulating. Also Fable 4 is all but confirmed. 

 

At time of posting this, this is live... Jez Corden of Windows Central and Rand Al Thor... They both have insiders and defintely aren't hyperbolic and their insider sources are reliable.

"I'll see you at 11."  24 hour format absolutely removes confusion when people don't bother to put PM and AM and you want to retrospectively look at at old texts or emails and for them to make sense. So, maybe it's from working in 24 hour businesses and  dealing with customers that I use 24 hour format. It eradicates any confusion or misinterpretation. Especially if writing hours or important information in handwriting. Deciphering AM/PM in handwriting isn't always easy. Also, some people will write "see you at 12:00." In my world there is only one 12. In your other non-24 hour world there is 2 of same hour. In my 12hr world there is only 1 set of 24hrs. 

 

It's mostly to do with other people being lazy and not putting in AM/PM. So I use it as a courtesy. And I know when dealing with anyone that relies of times I give them that they will get 24hrs time and there is no excuse for misinterpretation./

 

Back.. on topic...... 

 

What's everyone expecting of Halo? Word on the street that it might be more open-world. I'm guessing it might be like that but like The Witcher. Open world sections. Either way I'm pretty excited for it.

Yeah, I'm not sure how many will release in the first year. But with backwards compat, I'm going to enjoy some crossover. Want to see how RDR2 is going to run on XSX. I've never gamed on 4K resolution so that will be new to me. 

 

Some good news, a reliable insider (Klobrile) says is Obsidian are to be announcing a new RPG. Not The Outer Worlds but something new. This could be true given they'll be under Microsoft's wing nearly 2 years. They might have some reveal to show but probably not out for a couple of years. 

Fable 4 is all but confirmed. That's apparently been in the works for a long time.  Playground Games are developing it (apparently) so, they've probably been working on it full time since the release of Forza: Horizon 4 and would also make sense as to why Forza has been "on a break."

 

And also massive hints Perfect Dark Zero being rebooted. Never played PDZ. Well, only a little bit on Xbox One and a tiny bit when it first launched back in 2005 on the 360. I  liked it. I liked the world. And as Cyberpunk seems to be the hot thing lately, it makes sense for them to reboot it. 

 

I'm really looking forward to Halo: Infinite game play as well. Currently playing through the Master Chief Collection. I'm just on Halo 3 now. 

 

Overall, I'm optimistic going into this gen. With the old staples, Halo and Forza, that's good but then some RPGS like Fable and whatever Obsidian announces, there'll be lots of hours to play. 

 

For anyone hyped for Perfect Dark Zero, it's looks amazing on the One X. It doesn't look like a 15 year old game at all.
