Jason
Some talk about Avowed out and about from Jez Corden from a while ago, summary from Era; Spoiler - he saw a build from April 2021 - it looks pretty damn great, playable and ready - similar to Outer Worlds in terms of scope - big expansive hubs all connected, not big as Ubisoft OW - 120 people as of April 2021, now they're more - graphically is a stylized game, not photorealistic goal, but less cartoony - more graphics details than Outer Worlds - combat is super dynamic - great animations, spells are from POE - lot of physics combat - quality focus on melee combat - Jez said the game looks super impressive and super cool - it just look ultra fun - bandit gameplay, backstabbing enemies, stealth gameplay - ranger gameplay, magic arrows - warrior gameplay, sword and shield gameplay - game is full of spells - game is more combat oriented than Skyrim and mass effecty in its sort relationships with characters - gameplay was really solid as April 2021 - Obsidian to the next level - not as the same level as Starfield - it's simply a stronger game than Outer Worlds - Obsidian is probably gonna end up being one of best MS purchase Seeing some talk that it's maybe a Q1/Q2 2023 game? MS could have a pretty stonking start to 2023 if they get that and Starfield out early on. Mister Pink
Tacymist
Avowed has been on my radar since I saw that little cinematic of the arrow flying through the air and taking out that punk skeleton. Glad to hear good things about it, I'll continue to wait patiently for its release.
Jason
The most interesting thing about Avowed for me, having played Pillars of Eternity 2, is that they already have these huge established world to really go balls deep in. No creating it on the fly as they develop, they've got it all already and just need to carve a new story in it. I don't expect them to to PoE2 levels for it cause CRPG's are a different beast to WRPG's when it comes to delivering lore but I am really looking forward to the world of Avowed as much as anything else. The PoE universe is fantastic. Mister Pink
Mister Pink
Yeah, despite my lack of interest in isometric games, PoE2 is quite fun. I installed it again and played a little bit more of it. I don't think I'll commit to completing it. I just wanted to see the world. And it is quite compelling. Other news.. Goldeneye achievements showing up on Xbox website.. Jason
Weird to think that they wanted to release that Goldeneye game back in the 360 days. It was done and ready to go but Nintendo pulled the plug last minute and as a result it's sat on the shelf for over 10 years waiting for Nintendo to change their mind. Mister Pink
Good news for Xbox! Game Pass for Smart TVs and your owned game library coming to xCloud. Games you own will come to xCloud allowing you to stream games outside having a Game Pass subscription! I love this idea. Basically, I will be able to sign into my Skyrim from nearly any device and continue to play there. I hope MS are announcing a handheld device. "Microsoft is planning to bring a lot more games to Xbox Cloud Gaming later this year, allowing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream some of their own game library. “We’re excited to share that later this year, it’s our intent to roll out the ability for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to play, from the cloud, select games they already own or have purchased outside the Xbox Game Pass library,” says Will Tuttle, Xbox Wire editor in chief." Xbox Cloud Gaming will support your game library later this year - The Verge Xbox are finally releasing their Xbox app for Smart TV's. However, it will only be compatible with new Samsung TVs at first. Even still, it's a look at gaming in the future. Microsoft said it will first bring the Xbox app to Samsung’s 2022 smart TVs and then expand distribution to other manufacturers. With the rollout, Microsoft is focused on bringing its gaming services to people who don’t have consoles. Gamers will be able to play the Xbox app with Sony’s Bluetooth-connected DualSense controllers as well as Microsoft’s wireless Xbox controllers. Microsoft is bringing Xbox Game Pass cloud streaming to smart TVs (cnbc.com) Now, bring on Sunday, June 12th for the Starfield reveal! And remember on Tuesday 14th we have a second show which should be a deeper dive on some of the games shown on Sunday. 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 𝙽𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙿
Jason
Yea that xCloud update is one of those things that doesn't really do anything for me today, but in a few years as the tech improves? Being able to quickly jump into a game I'm playing through Xbox (be it consoles or PC) while out or whatever to pass the time is definitely something I can see my self doing. Jason
No huge mega announcements but honestly I thought it was a a solid showing. Forza, Redfall, Frontier, Minecraft Legends and a few others caught my eye. Perhaps not all are games I'd go out my way and buy and play but that's the beauty of GP. Going to be trying a lot of those games for sure. And Starfield... oh boy. I'm not upset that they delayed it to give it more time anymore. It looks properly incredible.
Tacymist
I know I could just google it, but I'd rather ask in here because that's more fun. That Minecraft Legends game, how does it differ from the original Minecraft? I tried the original back in the day and it just never took off with me, but for some reason this version looked a little more interesting. I can't quite put my finger on why though. Starfield looks amazing. I kinda wish I didn't watch it because now I want the game so bad. Before I was only looking forward to it, but wasn't too fussed over waiting for it. But now? jfc. Jason
Reading some info about Redfall from an IGN interview and... there's some redflags there. Co-op game where only the hosts mission progress saves (char progress saves tho). That needs to be fixed, no ifs or buts. Also no respeccing. Dunno how many devs need to release a loot RPG w/o respeccing only to realise they were wrong befor devs starting making respec options in these games mandatory. Beyond that it sounds like it could be some good fun but those two above are some rookie mistakes they need to fix ASAP.

Jason
Forza (the upcoming one) is aiming for 1080p/60fps on Series S... which is what MS should've been going for from day 1. Still don't know why they wanted the 1440p push, I guess it looked better for marketing purposes than the S just being a 1080p console, but 1080/60fps makes far more sense than 1440p/30. Hopefully this trend continues at MS and rubs off onto 3rd party studios. Mister Pink

Mister Pink
Sony says Call of Duty going to Xbox will likely lose them customers on PlayStation. Yes, Sony aren't happy about the Acti-Blizz deal and it's come out in some documents made public. Following the commencement of the regulation process, ‘Idas’ – a member on video game forum ResetEra, outlined responses from Sony, Ubisoft, Google and others – made public by the Brazilian Regulatory bodies, providing documentation of the review’s proceedings. Outstanding among these are concerns raised by Sony – the corporation behind the PlayStation, and long-time competitor to Microsoft’s own Xbox. Where most other publishers and developers didn’t have particular concerns over lack of competition for Activision Blizzard, Sony voiced opposition to the acquisition, citing first-person shooter franchise Call of Duty as reason enough for consumers to swing in favour of the Xbox, amidst other exclusives such as the platform’s subscription service: Xbox Game Pass. Sony raises concerns over Xbox acquisition of Call of Duty - GamesHub Interestingly, Phil Spencer hinted at Call of Duty staying multiplat but there are some that speculate this could be a case like Bethesda where he was vague at the begining and then when the deal was done, announced future titles being exclusive. Sony's concern about Call of Duty might be out of the fact they think Microsoft will make CoD exclusive. Certainly, those timed exclusive deals Sony benefited from will be gone. Also, if CoD starts dropping into Game Pass every year, then I don't see why people wont just choose an Xbox and Game Pass. But I get why Sony are complaining. They're at the top of their competition in terms of profitability and they want to stay there. Microsoft is kind forcing their hand be more competitive something they didn't really need to do last gen. Sony also said "it would take several years to create a service to rival Game Pass." Sony Believes it Would Take “Several Years” for a Competitor to Rival Game Pass (gamingbolt.com) When I worked in Xbox Support many years ago, a huge amount of our calls were from a demographic that only plays CoD and FIFA. I know this because I'd talk to them, I'd have their GamerTag and many of the issues were related FIFA points/billing issues..parents contesting charges. A lot of them were calling from very working class areas where money was tight. You'd know this by parents ringing in and there's a charge for monthly sub they thought was switched off and they'd complain about being broke. My point is 360 era was very affordable. You could buy the console without the hardrive/storage. And, you could upgrade the storage. It was a good option compared to the PS3 which was quite expensive at the time of release. The Series generation is very affordable too. Series S is great value. For a working class family this is a Godsend, IMO. And now, that demographic that only played FIFA and CoD will pretty much soon be able to on a subcription service like Game Pass where a smaller monthly fee might be more manageable that being hit with €70 purchases everytime a CoD releases. They could be paying €15 per month and having a wider selection of games to access that they wouldn't normally play and then get their CoD in November through Game Pass. It's pretty smart. Of course there are those of us that still like to collect games. I'm still one of them and will buy games and dip in and out of Game Pass. Buying games isn't going away for many of us but for those other people, a sub service and Series S is very accessible and a great option in to this generation of gaming.
