Yeah, 3 USBs are not enough; especially since they integrated keyboard and mouse. 4 would be ideal. 2 in the back and 2 in the front Ivan1997GTA
Jason
There's 1 USB port on the front but yea, 4 should be the minimum really. External HDD's, mixamps, controller charging cables, none of these are particularly niche things anymore so lots of people will struggle with 2 ports in the back and only 1 on the front. Jason
Four is not much of an ask, and should be the minimum. Two on the front should be a thing at the very least. Ivan1997GTA
Mister Pink
We're looking at a dev kit/prototype, not the the commercial release. Notice the long slender port. Many have speculated it's probably for debugging. I expect there'll be at least 4 USB ports - especially as mentioned, with mouse and keyboard support as well is hard-drives,plugged-in controllers for charging etc. Also, got a bit miffed about people saying "Xbox Series X wont have exclusives at launch". It's so dishonest but all the main media outlets ran with that click-bait narrative. It will, except if you bought a One X recently, you'll be able to play those games too. When you explain this to people, they say that old consoles will hold the games back. Which is of course is a fallacy. I recall one or two devs here saying games are designed for the best specs available and then scaled down. It seems quite logical. It's a very pro-consumer move. People are too infected by this "exclusives" brain-rot that they want their exclusives and they don't want anyone playing them on any other platform, even if it's the same company! Amazing. Also.. videotech_
I can't wait to play Red Dead 2 on this thing.I'm more intrigued about the SSD, I hope the loading times will be a huge improvement. https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2020/02/24/what-you-can-expect-next-generation-gaming/?ocid=Platform_soc_omc_xbo_tw_Video_lrn_2.24.3 Mister Pink
Jason
The question is how much space do these SSD's have. Worried we're going to get 500gb SSD's when we need 1tb at least.

Mhm. 500gb was enough when devs were fitting games on DVD's, but it became apparent very quickly that it wasn't enough when BluRay became a thing when almost every game went from 8-10gb to 40-50gb literally overnight. Dunno what's in store for next-gen, I don't think we're getting 100gb BluRay's? But if 100gb filesizes become the norm eitherway then 1tb aint enough either, especially in the era of Game Pass and stuff like that. The fact we're getting SSD's in the new consoles is great but storage space is always the thing they seem to cheap out on, so I'm not that hopeful we'll get 1.5tb+ like we really should for long term viability. More likely that it'll be 1tb and in a year or two they'll drop a 2tb version. Then they'll offer external USB storage and completely kill a lot of the supposed benefits of the SSD for devs. TheSantader25
dante財閥
I’m curious as to whether people who switched from the 360 to PS4 are thinking about going back to the Xbox with Series X this gen? What are the deal breakers for you guys? I thought Xbox Live use to be amazing but they didn’t improve it in the way I liked with the Xbox One. Sony on the other hand really improved their online PSN component and that made me more comfortable over there. Plus, Game Pass is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR better than their PSNow service. Mister Pink
dante財閥
I haven't tried Game Pass but PSNow is indeed, pretty awful. Needs lots of work. If the future is something like Game Pass then MS do have a healthy head start.
Cosmic Gypsy
I've been a Playstation guy since PS1 but this new Xbox definitely has me interested. darthYENIK
I’m definitely back in the “all consoles” team after a good decade off of that. So I’ll be getting this, and the PS5, and whatever Nintendo puts out.
Jason
Went from 360 top PS4 with my mates, we're all very likely to go from PS4 to Xbox this year. Games Pass having a huge library of games we've not played day 1 is a huge boon. If I buy a PS5 this fall I'll have whatever launch titles (which usually aren't very good, and MS has Halo) and Fifa cause I'm still a sucker for buying football games every year. Xbox just seems like a better deal for me right now, unless Sony pull out some amazing stuff. The synergy of Xbox with PC right now is actually really interesting as well, some may see having an Xbox and a PC a waste these days but Games Pass PC having a slightly different library and cross platform play + progression, having the option to play these titles on my PC at 21:9 60fps etc while still playing with console mates is a very cool option. Mister Pink
GPU Specs confirmed by Phil Spencer. I haven't been online for a couple of weeks. So, it's confirmed that Xbox Series X is 12 Tflops. This was what guys like Colt Eastwood, Rand Al Thor and Dealer gaming have been saying for months. All of their insider stuff has come to be true. Graphics specs have been confirmed by Phil Spencer. It will be twice the power of the Xbox One X which is 6 teraflops and about 8 times as powerful as the original Xbox. Currently leaked GPU specs from AMD put the PS5 at 9.2 teraflops. Specs: Custom AMD Zen 2 CPU, Custom NVMe SSD, GDDR6 memory, 12 teraflops of GPU power Xbox will also have "Smart Delivery" which means you buy your games once. CD Projeket RED is supporting this. If you buy Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox One and then you buy a Series X, you don't have to buy the game again to get the best quality version. Also, another feature confirmed is being able to resume multiple games in their current states of gameplay. Waiting in a party for another member to join will mean you can resume play on another title and then come back to your current game exactly were you left off. System updates don't f*ck with this either. Also confirmed is 3 generations backwards compatibility; Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox Original. Jason
Multi game pausing is hmmmm. I don't use the PS4's game pausing system much to begin with cause I just turn the PS4 off when I'm not using it but for those who use standby that's probably gonna be a lowkey amazing feature. I remember yesterday I left my game and opened up YouTube. Went on Youtube for a few hours. Then, went back to my game. Got a surprise I was just where I left off. Because to me, I didn't anticipate going back to the game. So, in my mind it was as good as exited. So, it was nice that I didn't have to go through loading screens. So this multiple game-resume feature should be nice as a something you don't really even think about. Jason 1 🅵🅴🅽🅸🆇 🅵🆄🅽🅺 🅵🅸🆅🅴
Static
Just wanna point out there's far more to gpu performance than just Tflops. AMD's Vega 64 could pull 12.66 Tflops, but since GNC (architecture) was pretty sh*t, it ended up being a wash anyways. That being said, RDNA is a completely different animal and hopefully RDNA 2 will be a substantial improvement and not a simple refresh.
