Of course it won't be compatible.

@winme05: 100% sure, 550W is a huge overkill for your rig. The Chieftec NitroII 500W looks interesting as well: http://www.1a.lv/datoru_komponentes/barosanas_bloki/chieftec_nitro_ii_atx23_85_500w_bps500s2

You might also consider http://www.1a.lv/datoru_komponentes/barosanas_bloki/ocz_psu_atx22_550w_zt which is modular, but also more expensive.

friendly luggage

You'll need a new motherboard to support it. I imagine there will be hybrids that will support DDR3 and DDR4.

Only for new CPUs though, as no current desktop CPU has DDR4 memory controller yet. Haswell-E/EX will probably be the first desktop CPUs to support DDR4.

So some twats have poured by mistake some beer in my laptop so it shut down instantly, Is there any way to restart it?

You may well be up the creek without a paddle, first things first don't try and turn it back on yet, next get some kitchen towel and use it to soak up as much as possible, don't rub it as the towel will shed fibers etc, just pat it as dry as possible. The next step is up to you if you feel confident enough to do it, try and disassemble some of the laptop (not all of it) to try and air it out as much as you can, if you do take it apart don't use any magnetic screwdrivers near it, if you've demagnetized ones even better.

The best thing is to let it dry out as naturally as possible, don't use a hairdryer or any other heat source to try and speed it up. You can however if you have one, place a dehumidifier next to it to allow it to draw the moist air near it away. I would give it at least 48 hours maybe even 72 to be sure.

Then if you've disassembled it then carefully put it back together again and try load it up to see if it works (in my experience the keyboard is usually the most susceptible to damage from beer and fizzy drinks), if it does work then great, now turn it back off and slowly take it apart again and get some soft and hard bristle make-up brushes and start to clean the affected areas, if you have any lint free cloths that would be good to take the worst of it off. Put it back together and hey presto.

If you aren't feeling confident to do it and you have a warranty or insurance check the wording and use that, and send the bill to your mates along with a heavy slap... or get them to buy you a new one.

@SilverRST: i7-4770 is faster. And also cheaper (mobos for it are far cheaper, that is).

Thanks a lot. Then my choice will be the i7-4770.

And which PSU do you recommend me the best in combination of an i7-4770 and GTX780 Ti?

Not sure what your budget is, but seeing as rest of the PC looks high-end, I'd recommend a high-end PSU to go along with it: CoolerMaster V700. Based on Seasonic X KM3 platform, and I'd go so far as to say it's priced relatively low for the performance (in most shops at least).

Also, seeing as you won't be overclocking (since you consider a non-K CPU) just get a Xeon E3-1230V3 instead of i7, you'll save quite a few bucks.

Budget is around €1800-1850. I'll get the K-version and then I'll be getting the Noctua NH-ND14.

In the winter OC'ing and in the summers stock clockspeed.

I don't see the CoolerMaster V700 here:

Irk, not taking Chieftec anymore. Some people recommended ThermalTake, what about these two:

f*cking hell, we've used a hair dryer after that but now the little good laptop have started. However, it has some problems lol, it presses by itself some letters when I try to type something on my keyboard, what to do?

Now it closed automatically, I'll let it dry after this night and see what's up tomorrow morning.

Best to let it dry out for a day or two, if it doesn't work then you may be able to source a replacement keyboard, they are little tricky to replace on laptops, but not impossible.

f*cking hell, dissambled the laptop and let it dry until tomorrow morning. Would that be okay? Any chance to fully recover the keyboard?

There is one: http://www.alternate.nl/Cooler_Master/Cooler_Master+Silent_Pro_Gold_RS700-AFBAG1-EU,_700_Watt_voeding/html/product/1063659/?tk=7&lk=9533

If you don't want to spend that much, then these might be worth it:

http://www.alternate.nl/Corsair/Corsair+CX750M,_750_Watt_voeding/html/product/1049959/?tk=7&lk=9533

Smart - not worth considering (too pricey). Smart SE - good in itself, but OCZ ZT 550W costs roughly the same and is even better. Edited by yojo2

So I've got my laptop working this morning, everything is fine except that when I press F, it types GF and the same for G letter too. What should I do now?

Link to comment

Maybe give it a little longer and see how it goes, in the meantime depending how you use your laptop if you've a standard keyboard laying around you could plug that in and use it until it's fixed.

If it still persists then have a look into a replacement keyboard.

Yeah I initially though about replacing the keyboard and they are nit expensive so I could afford one. The thing is that I am a bit worried that I'll eventually waste money in case there's any chancd that my laptop would stop working in the near future.

Wow, thanks a lot for those! They really reduced the price of what I was playing with.

I had the be quite! Dark Pro 10 650W but that was an expensive one, €157.

I can choose one of those recommended PSU? I'm fine with a 600-650W as long as the PSU is really good enough

for the i7-4770K and GTX780 Ti.

f*cking keyboard, removed it, cleaned everything there, hardly put the keyboard to its place as it's hard to remove it and put it back and now the f*cking "B" key is not working, but it seems to press itself when the Windows logs in. What the f*ck do I do now?

Even a 550W should do to be honest.

Cooler Master V550S for example, but it's just €10 cheaper than 650W version, so I don't see the point.

So better the 650W? Yeah, I don't see the point too.

And are there any differences between the i5-4670K and i7-4770 in combination with a GTX780 Ti?

The PC will be mainly used for games, watching movies, 3D and converting videos to differen formats.

If you are worried it won't work because of the beer incident, I wouldn't be too concerned at this stage as if after a beer spill the laptop is still working minus the keyboard issues then the rest of the laptop would be fine, it would just be the keyboard.

Tricky things laptop keyboards you'll probably find that keys are in groups, when my laptop keyboard kiffed it, it was the same bunch of keys, I would give a few more days if it's not working then, I would consider going for a new keyboard.

Ah, okay, I'll wait to see what happens. But what intrigues me is that the key presses itself until Desktop log, then if I press any other key, it stops working wtf.

In games - pretty much nope. But videos should convert faster on i7.

Hmm, now the "B" letter is fully functionable, as you can see. Not sure how much I will experience this, but I hope it will stay this way.

Update, the B key is f*cking lunatic, keeps pressing itself sometimes until I punch it. Should I stop doing that as I might damage something else?

As I keep saying just give a little time maybe a few more days, then consider a replacement if it's still borked
