I've got a couple of questions.

  • 1. Can I play on Xbox 360 games using my PC monitor instead of my TV screen?

2. How can a 0xc00005 error be fixed? I read somewhere it could be done using some registry cleaner. Any suggestions for any?

@G-Easy: Just to double check, have you cleaned out ALL fans in your PC, that is the case fan, the PSU fan, the GPU fan and any other associated fans you may have, if not then clean them all out and use an air duster (or compressed air, DO NOT turn it upside down as it will spray out a fluid) also try cleaning off stubborn dirt with make-up brushes.

If that has been done, then try out a clean-up of the software side of things, update drivers, windows, run anti-virus scans etc, all the usual system maintenance stuff and then see how much of a difference that makes. You could also try and have a clean up of software you no longer use and that might still be running in the background and causing your hardware to overwork and make more noise.

I'm sorry for double posting, but seems that nobody paidd attentions to my question, so...

I updated my GPU (GF4 MX440 AGP8x) drivers, and both benchmark score and gaming performance went up, but I can't access the nVidia Control Panel now. Should I roll the drivaers back or is there another solution?

I just got my HAF X Nvidia Edition and Corsair H100 for Christmas and now I'm waiting to install it (I need alcohol to remove thermal paste on CPU). However, I am unsure how to install it. The HAF X has a 200mm fan mounted on top and I want to install the radiator underneath it, like everybody else seems to. How do I go about doing this? Do I need to remove the top of the case and 200mm fan, install radiator and then put the 200mm back in? Also the holes for installing the radiator look like the screws will come into contact with the top 200mm fan, but I'm not exactly sure. Preferably I would like to have it like this. Sorry this is the best I can do to describe what I mean.

Xbox ---->Hdmi ----> monitor.

I'm kinda hoping your monitor doesn't have a hdmi port because that would have been so easy, 1 cable, not really any setup required, use your brain.

The other way is hdmi ---> dvi and whatever the flip xbox uses for sound, or use a headset.

Is it possible to, er, un-do bootable pendrive? I have a 8GB Transcend JetFlash V30 formatted to FAT32 with Damn Small Linux on it, and I want to turn it back into a regular data carrier. Should I format it or whaaat?

Yeah, just plug it into you computer and open up "My Computer" or whatever OS you using, then right click the drive and select format and then chose how you want to format it... Done smile.gif

Master of San Andreas

I've heard Windows 8 is having problems with older programs but can I run the following games? smile.gif

Crysis

Black Ops 2

Crysis 2

GTA 4

Just Cause 2

Sleeping Dogs

Far Cry 3

Mafia II

Black Ops

FIFA 13

And more but I'll stack them as one Question:

Is Windows 8 capable of playing all games/From Which year games can be played on Windows 8?(ex:2007)

From what I've heard, you can run almost all the games you've listed in Windows 8.

It all depends on your PC specs and your graphic card.

You can't because is not a dedicated graphics card, is integrated.

Radeon HD 7670m is Dedicated Narcis wow.gif

Doesn't mean it isn't literally soldered onto the mainboard. Laptop GPUs are rarely upgradable where dedicated or integrated.

Do any of you turn off your routers at night? I've heard it's bad because your ISP can detect it as a fault and then slow your speed. I would leave my router on 24/7 but the lights would keep me up at night.

Just put a bit of masking tape over them. As long as you cut it neatly its good enough for even an OCD nut like myself.

How much of a performance hit will I take (GTX 560 OC'd), if any, when I upgrade my monitor to 1080p from a 1600 x 900?

Also it's a 24" monitor. Is that a bad thing? Is it more ideal to get a 20, 21 or 22 inch?

Not much, somewhere around 5-10 fps but the quality will definitely be an improvement.

I don't think size of the monitor matters to anyone else other than you, the only issue I can see with a bigger screen is that you will have to sit further back in order to watch it in it's full glory.

A GTX 560 can easily handle anything at decent settings at 1920x1080, so I really don't think you'd lose 5 to 10 FPS upgrading from 1600x900.

Thanks for the answers. Someone told me a larger monitor, such as a 24", would equate to lower DPI. Though I saw the 24" in store the other day and practically drooled. It's a beaut in comparison to my current one.

I recently upgraded from an 18" 1440x900 monitor to a 23" 1920x1080 monitor and didn't see a performance impact in any games (and I stress tested with Metro 2033, Battlefield 3 & GTA IV). Keep in mind I'm someone that plays with Fraps on 100% of the time and I constantly monitor my framerate, so I would have noticed even a small impact.

Basically, you have nothing to worry about.

Cheers, went ahead and pulled the trigger.

I also spontaneously decided to splurge. I bought a 27" 1080p Acer. I'm not sure what I've just done. But I think I like it.

Hey guys, looking to upgrade from my old GTX 460 to something a bit newer. I was looking at the GTX 660 but I want to max out a few games with a bit of AA. The Radeon 7950 looks good too, but there might be something better. Have around 200 - 350 to splash on it.

I recently overclocked my 3570k to 4.5GHz. A while after I noticed anything CPU related in games (draw distance, rendering shadows in Skyrim) has become worse and there are lots of pop ins everywhere. It's like the draw distance has been reduced to about 10 feet. Have I damaged my CPU at all? Because reverting back to 3.8GHz makes no difference, even resetting BIOS settings doesn't. Also, I know it's not the GPU because I tried another and it still happens. MY MoBo is a Asus P8Z77-V LX by the way.

Dunno what was I thinking, i must have confused euros with pounds. confused.gif

Well, go for the HD7950 then, or GTX660Ti if you like nVidia more.
