Well I did, MP 3 ran fine. Would provide a screenshot or something but I don't have it installed anymore needed to clear space for Sleeping Dogs & Mafia II.

When you say high settings, what resolution included in that?

Looks good compared to other similarly priced cases in this shop.

It does look pretty good indeed, the other thing I really need to change is the Cooler/Radiator (budget is 50$ or 170.00 in the currency from that website)

Now the question is what size should I be looking for?

M4A78LT-M LE is the motherboard I am currently using, with a 70x70 fan on the CPU.

I already took some measurements myself but I am looking for a different opinion.

Thanks for the recommendations, I am going with a deepcool cooler.

I will be back with a shot with everything together. icon14.gif

I might have posted about this a long time ago but it's pissing me off. I have the latest version of uTorrent and I can't seem to be able to download anything properly. The problem is that I start downloading any torrent, there are many seeders and I get maximum speed but then, about two minutes later the speed decreases to about 10 Kbps. This happened on so many torrents and different trackers that I can safely say it's not specific to any one of them. It's a general problem.

If I quite the program and start it up again it will go full speed again although the download completion percentage goes down like 5 or 10 percent for whatever reason (every time I restart the app), as if I'm downloading junk or it doesn't register the download properly. When this happens, if I try to delete the torrent and select the option to delete the actual files as well (and not just the torrent from the list) it doesn't delete them! I have to delete them manually. What the f*ck is this sh*t?

We aren't supposed to talk of piracy here and am against piracy, but it has legitimate uses as well.

Well you're being throttled for some reason.

Play with your upload/download speed settings and try increasing disk cache to 500mb or something.

Worse comes to worse rollback to the previous version which had no issues, google will help you with rolling back.

As far as you know, I could be downloading legal torrents. It works now for some reason but I'll try that if I encounter this issue again.

This might one of the many reasons I have yet to update past v2.2.1

I am pretty sure the hard drive from my computer is damaged, I can easily get to the boot screen when the hard drive is disconnected, impossible when I have it on (constantly loading and restarting)

And when I finally manage to enter windows the games are running slow as hell and then restarts, nothing is overheating.

Could be something else other than hard drive?

I've had the slow download speed thing with uTorrent (and every other torrent programme) for as long as I remember. It only happens with files that are in the 100+ MB range.

Needless to say, I've given up on torrents because of this. I wish I could help, but I've tried EVERYTHING, and nothing has worked.

Sounds like it could be the Hard Drive, I doubt this is the case but have you checked the RAM?

I did, both memtest and changing sticks.

Okay, so I've had my laptop now for a few years, and admittedly ye olde faithful has been good to me, set aside two new screens, a couple of new fans, more RAM, and general motherboard maintenance.

Unfortunately, she's getting on a bit now, and this means it can't compete any more. I've been using it just for general web use, YouTube, Facebook etc. But a few weeks ago I thought I'd give Minecraft a go. Did not want to run it over 5fps at all. And I know this is probably just down the onboard GPU but I think I'm overdue an upgrade anyway. Anywho, this is what I'm running now;

Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 32bit

2GB RAM

Intel Celeron 540 @ 1.86GHz

SiS Mirage 3 onboard GPU

As you can probably tell, it's way behind. But surprisingly does the basics without breaking a sweat. I do want something around this sort of spec, ideally in tower form, any suggestions? I'm looking at a dual-core processor upgrade, and being a bit of a tight budget not really wanting to break the £300 barrier.

Thanks if anyone can help!

Okay so I've been having problems from some time, passed my budget and still didn't fixed them.

-PC doesn't always boot.

-Freezes if I move the case.

-When the pc does start the gpu fan doesn't spin properly.

-PSU makes a strange noise.

-Does detect 70gb instead of 480-500 when I try to reinstall windows (hdd is new)

Components that are brand new:

RAM: 2x KingMax 2GB DDR3 1333MHz CL9

GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD7770 GHz Edition OC 1GB DDR5 128-bit

HDD: Western Digital 500GB SATA-III 64MB Caviar Green

PSU: Xilence SPS-XP580 Rev3

CASE: RAIDMAX Altas Black Window

Other components I did not changed:

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 2.60 620

MOBO: Asus M4A78LT-M LE

The only things left for me to try is to change the hdd cables or the motherboard battery and capacitors...

Could be something else I am missing?

Edit: Here are some shots of the setup, maybe some wires are touching something it shoudn't.

Los Santos Pedestrian

I'm no 100% pro computer expert, but it sounds kind of like it was damaged from violent movement, like from dropping it. My brother had a similar problem with his custom-built computer, where he dropped it from less than half a foot from the floor and had to replace the hard drive, video card and the CPU's heatsink.

Do you remember if it was dropped it all?

EDIT

What would be the the best £20-£50 card for video editing? My friend has a Core2Quad to so it wouldn't be limited by the CPU.

Have you tried hooking the HDD up to any of the other SATA ports to see if that changes things?

Found out that the USB cables from the case were touching the side panel and that caused the freezing (in time that damaged the hdd)

Doesn't crash anymore if I move the PC, thanks for your ideas. icon14.gif

Don't know any sites across the pond, just get the best one for your price range and it has at least 1GB of VRAM and 128bit memory bus along with the latest memory type like G/DDR5 instead of G/DDR3.

So I was thinking I want to get a new phone - the LG Optimus G. Unfortunately, this phone releases in early 2013 for the UK (i.e. where I live) but it has a 29th October release date in the US. sneaky2.gif

I don't really want to wait till 2013 to get this phone, so would it be OK if I just got it shipped here from the US via ebay on the 29th October, rather than wait till 2013 for the actual UK release? Would there be any reason for me to wait for the official UK release? For example, some phones have exclusive carriers in the US, so if you tried to import this phone into a different country (that does not have this carrier) then I'm under the impression that it wouldn't work.

This phone network business confuses me so I guess I'm just looking for some clarification. Thanks.

Yeah like you said some phones are locked to a carrier, you'll need to buy an unlocked phone, which as the name suggests is a phone that is not locked to any carrier.

One thing to look out for is to make sure that the frequencies the phone runs on will work in the UK, i think a lot of US phones run on 850Mhz and 1900Mhz frequencies, here in Aus we use 900/1800Mhz or something like that and i think China and Europe use the same, so when you buy a phone make sure it uses frequencies that your UK carriers use, also you can pretty much forget about warranty buying overseas, so if your phone dies after a week, replacing it could be a real pain in the ass.

(That's what happened with my first SGS2).

However i should point out i have never bought a phone from overseas so my fears might be out of whack since it's only really from what i've read, you'll have to research the frequencies thing a bit, try ringing the carrier you plan to use once you get the phone and ask them about what frequencies they use.

The 4G bands are going to be totally different in the UK than in the US, which means when 4G roll-out finally happens it won't work on that regardless of whether or not the 3G frequencies are the same.

Ah right I understand. Well thanks for the help guys. smile.gif

I probably will end up getting it from the US then (after a bit more research) since I don't care for warranty neither 4G.

Okay, so I bought myself a new mouse as old one was getting kinda broken already. Old one was Microsoft Comfort Mouse 4500 and new one is Logitech Gaming G300, so it's not so quick switch, needs some adaption. Any tips on how to adjust faster to the new mouse? I tried one quick game of BFBC2, and the DPI-switching option is kinda cool but overall I'm not so used to the new mouse.

Eh? Just keep using it and you'll become more used to it. mercie_blink.gif I personally don't use the DPI switcher on my mouse though; I prefer to use those buttons for other things and I wouldn't ever have a need for it.

My Laptop is now old enough to have sh*t in the registry that can go.

I am using CCleaner but i haven't used it in a long time.

Previously i could get it to scan things and i could choose what registry to delete, i only deleted things i found safe from trial and error, but now it seems to Automatically delete stuff, it is safe to use and let it Automatically delete? Is there an option to manually delete?

If i can change the settings to manually delete, what errors are safe? Invalid Entries are and old file extension, but i can't remember the others.

EDIT: The analyse option seems to be the option to delete manually after scanning, but i still ask, what is safe to delete?

EDIT 2: Alright Analyzing shows you what will get deleted, basically i had around 5GB of temporary files and a few more GB of memory dump files plus a bunch of cache and that, i cleared that up and everything is running smoother, no lag after pressing X to close a window or while switching tabs on the browser or minimizing/maximizing.
