When I was  getting a drivers update with nvidia geforce experience control panel launched it recommended  that I buy a GEFORCE RTX 3070 card, and that card cost $278 at Best Buy Canada

the nvidia geforce experience control panel launcher said that I needed the GEFORCE RTX 3070 card to better play cyberpunk 2077

Is there a question? I don't think you can get a 3070 for $280, sounds...scammy.

With a 1080 you'll be able to play with ultra settings in 1080p without ray tracing, I believe. You might have to drop down to high for 4k depending on what kind of framerate you are used to.

How about GTX 1650?

Probably 1080p medium if you aren't too precious about dips under 60fps

I only care about FPS

So a 1650 Super is "recommended spec". That's for 1080p high with no RT, but for what FPS nobody really knows. You're basically between minimum and recommended so I'd probably try Medium to start and adjust to suit your tastes. Or just go straight to low.

Two thoughts fighting in my head. "It runs on a console, how bad can it be?" and "Yeah, but we all know how 'well' games run on consoles."

That said, consoles are mostly CPU-bound these days, and that's way harder to scale with quality settings. So you should make sure your CPU meets min spec for Cyberpunk.

How do I preserve the date of photos I'm transferring from an old micro sd card (on my laptop through a micro sd adapter) to a newer micro sd on my phone?

In Linux you can use cp -pr directory which will maintain file attributes.  If you're on Windows I'm sure there's something similar, robocopy.exe  could work using the /mir switch perhaps?

Today Chrome stopped displaying most text and a few images, don't think I did anything out of the ordinary on my end to cause this  - tried disable extensions, clearing cache and cookies, reinstalling chrome; only thing that's "fixed" it is disabling hardware acceleration, but would be nice to have a fix that doesn't go that far, annoyingly that's the only working fix I've found online. Also Firefox works fine, and that has hardware acceleration on.

Weirdly enough the text is borked on basically every website, but reuters articles are fine lol

E: did a full reinstall following Nazca's post here and everything's working now with hardware acceleration on

I just built a new PC, and needed a new windows activation key.

I bought one on G2A, a site I've used tonnes of times and never had a single issue, entered the code into windows and even tried on their site, told me the key was already in use. So I requested a refund, and tried another website (cannot remember the name, its the one YouTubers like TechSource always promote) Once again, key invalid/already in use. Requested a refund there too.

Ended up paying full price on Amazon, but it worked perfect, and instantly.

So to sum up, I had 2 bad back to back experiences with websites selling cheap keys. There could well be some decent ones out there, but I wouldn't bother again.

Apparently, there are still ways to get free upgrade from earlier version, so if you have a spare valid Win 8 key, you can upgrade it to a Win 10 key for free. It's something that MS doesn't advertise, but they've intentionally allowed people to keep upgrading, so it's legit.

Other than that, I wouldn't try to save with shady methods. There are places where you can get OEM keys for cheap, some of which are legitimate in so far as them being valid keys, but licensing on it is iffy, so I don't know if it's worth it even if you get a valid key out of that, but more importantly, a lot of places selling cheap keys are just scams.

And when buying at normal price, most of your go-to retailers will offer digital copies of Windows 10.

Well, you've been lucky. A lot of indy game devs have officially stated that they would rather you pirate game than buy keys on G2A. In a lot of cases, keys sold there are bought with stolen credit cards. And once whoever had their CC stolen reports charges as fraudulent, it's often whoever is selling the game that has to pay transaction reversal fees. So not only is it not providing with devs with any money, but it's actually costing them money.

While I think you should be free to sell digital goods, including game keys, on secondary markets, G2A has time and again ignored calls for regulating sales and making sure keys sold on the site are legitimately obtained. If you appreciate video games, avoid using sites like G2A. Especially, if you're getting keys for some small indy title, because you're running a risk of hurting them financially.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I think I got the free upgrade on my old laptop and my current one came with Windows 10, it's only 1 year old now. But my friend is running a dodgy version, so he's trying to record online tutorials so, he's upgrading/buying everything he should have done in the first place. I thought it would be nice to surprise him if someone new some reputable 3rd party that sells them for good value.

Yeah, I don't think he should or will want to take a chance on iffy licenses on those keys that might be legit. I've had good experience with Microsoft, so it might just be worth buying direct from them.

That's pretty unlucky.  Although when it comes to WIndows 10 keys these days I'm sure you can still recycle old Windows 7 keys and they work (providing it was an OEM upgrade).  It'll work regardless but obviously you'll need to be wary of the EULA.

I have another couple of questions regarding SSD upgrade on laptop...

I'm seriously in need of upgrading my SSD on my laptop. I've never done this before but I think Sivis told me before that I can clone my SSD etc over to the one one. I'm not sure what to look out for in an SSD exactly. I'm pretty sure my machine is NVME compatible, which I believe is a good thing. I found this SSD.. a Crucial P5 (1TB)..

Amazon

https://tinyurl.com/yyxpfsyu

Is the SSD good?

Are there any restrictions/limit on the capacity/storage of an SSD on a given system or should that be OK?  ideally, I'm looking for 1Tb. However, I'll consider a 500gb SSD if there was some distinct advantage.

My machine

https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/FX503/specifications/

Edit: Scratch that. I was told the Crucial SSD has a 5% fail rate and to try Adata. However, Samsung seem to do decent SSD's. Thinking of this one..

https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B07MBQPQ62/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&psc=1

There is a lot of conflicting information about my model of Asus (FX503). The issue being that the specs on the website don't show that the machine is compatible with M2 NVME/PCIE and Sata. The user-manual on the laptop says otherwise. I'll go with the manual.

Edit 2: I just went ahead and bought the Samsung 970 Evo Plus, 1Tb. Fingers crossed it works.

Is there a point of capturing high resolution pictures on a cellphone if we don’t plan to share them? For example, Samsung Galaxy S7 has a screen resolution of 2560x1440 if i remember correctly. Its camera can take pictures up to 4032×3024 as google suggests. Is there a point? Does it make a difference only if we zoom in on the captured picture?

Did what exactly? We need every detail minus the actual password you put in. Did you copy/paste password? Are you sure it's not trying to auto-sign in based on previous saved password? What happen when you got the reset link? Did it ask you to put in new password? When you input the new password did it give you confirmation that it's reset?

Make sure if you are copy/pasting your new password from a notepad or something that you aren't copying a blank space or that there isn't a blank character space before or after your password.

It's almost 0% likely a there is some bug on Microsoft's end. It's highly likely that its human error. Perhaps make a different, password. Maybe use Avast Password generator

If it's MS Teams,  Uninstall and reinstall. Reboot your device.

I got a question, read carefully:

When my TV runs my PS3 on 480i resolution, and the PS3 game that I'm playing is on 360p resolution, does the image will be clear?

Tell me if you don't understand me

I mean, 360p is not great to begin with, but yes, if you show it on a display running at 480i, it will look even worse than 360p native.

How about this:

If my TV runs my PS3 on 480i and the game that I'm playing is displayed on 1080p, will the image will be not clear?

I'm asking this because my PS3 displays on 480i and my GTA 5 runs on 720p

Last question:

Does the closest resolutions to 480i (360p, 480p, 640p) will make the image clearer if my PS3 runs on 480i resolution?

I'm sorry if you don't get it
