What is Driver Irql not less or equal?

The bane of any PC builder's existence. It can mean any of the following things.

1) Bad drivers or a driver conflict

2) Damaged/faulty RAM

3) Damaged/fault motherboard

4) Damaged/faulty GPU

5) Damaged/faulty processor

6) Damaged/faulty/underpowered PSU

Or damaged/faulty just about anything else really.

Is my PSU (Thermaltake Litepower 600W) enough to power a GTX560Ti?

I'll be running all my games at 1360x768 and try to run games at high-max (if possible) unless performance is poor.

You need to provide a bit more information that than. Though I would say yes, it most likely is. My system (see sig) hits about 465w power usage under maximum load, so with 600w you will be fine.

random question no. 4million and 63:

what file format can I format my USB stick with so that it'll be compatible with both windows(7) and OS X, AND so it can carry large files? - ie. over 5gigs. I think it's FAT atm, but that maxs out at 4gig file sizes, and the stick is 16gig.

thanks for any adv

exFAT. Theoretical maximum file-size is so enormous it's absurd. Works on 7 and OS X Snow Leopard and beyond.

I was wondering, could I increase the performance of my pc by removing unneeded processes?

Forget Paint, Google Chrome, DTProShell (how do I disable this bastard?) and Dropbox.

I need help tweaking the settings for video export with H.264. I am currently using 1920x1080 for resolution, 12 Mbps for bitrate and PCM 48 Khz 16 bit for audio. I need help with the more advanced settings:

I need these settings tweaked for videos with a lot of movement going on. Something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8GyMve5ihk

Refrain from using multiple processes at same time. Your Task Manager is pretty overloaded. You may try ending some processes like Chrome, rundll32, Grovemonitorutlity etc. I couldn't get to know all of the programs running but ending the above mentioned things will speed up your PC.

DO NOT TRY TO STOP RUNDLL32.EXE!!!

That is a process being used by the system for some reason and unless you know exactly what that reason is you could cause damage to the stability of the OS.

One thing you can try is going here http://www.blackviper.com/2010/12/17/black...configurations/ and following the SAFE column. The Tweaked column can be useful as well but for most people I'd say a combination of both SAFE and Tweaked on various services.

For example: Bluetooth Support Service = Default:Manual, SAFE:Manual, Tweaked:Disabled. If you don't have or use Bluetooth on your system at all then you can safely disable it, not that it's going to hurt to leave it on manual either in this case. Yet at the same time if your system, usually laptops, does have a built in Bluetooth and you don't have a need for it then disable the service or better still and if possible see if you can disable it in the BIOS.

Better example: Function Discovery Resource Publication = Default and Safe: Automatic, Tweaked:Disabled. If you have computers in your home and are networked together, that is to say that you can directly access another computer from your computer to it's shared folder then you would want this on. Other wise disable it.

Take notes of what changes you make so that if you have any problems you easily figure out what was changed and what you can try setting back to the way it was to see if that fixes the problem.

If you have somethings in your list of Services that are not on that list, you can click on them and hopefully there is a description that should explain them. If not or you question them for whatever reason then you can list them (create a new topic) and we can help find you the answer.

Will doing this bring you from the 71 processes down to say 61 processes? Honestly I have no idea. I currently have 62 processes running however that includes; Firefox, Steam, iPodder, KMPlayer, TeamSpeak3, eVGAPercision, uTorrent, VCDaemon, Xfire, and a few others that I don't really need. should would likely put me under 50 if I killed all of those.

I will say this: You have McAfee which if you'll notice is has 6 processes running that I can see. I use Avira AntiVir (free) which only uses 4. Plus which Avira is known to be faster and safer than McAfree, but then so is Avast. Point being that an anti virus can slow down a system in some cases and McAfee is one of those, along with Norton. AVG is also known to slow things down as well.

I was planning on removing the sh*te McAfee and install MSE, but my father got mad when I made a joke that I removed McAfee.

Was I 'lucky' that I hadn't removed McAfee yet whatsthat.gif

I am just about the only one using it, but he paid it so it's technically his pc turn.gif

But, I just put a 2600k+8GB+GTX570 pc together to see if I could make a faster pc for less money than the advertisment I saw (and I can), but I noticed my pc was about €120 more expensive than the build I made a month ago wow.gif

Floods in Thailand, eh?

The HDD raise from €45 to €160 confused.gif

Wait, the prices were inflated due to flooding?

If not you must have done it wrong, what sort of mobo did the pre built have? and are you buying expensive ram? what website are you using is shipping expensive.

Hi I don't want to start a new thread so I'll post here but I've got a wierd problem with youtube where the description below the video doesn't load if I watch it on their channel. It does this on any channel. I have only just built my pc and this is the only problem I've had with it so far. It does this on 64 bit and 32 bit IE8. I might try Google Chrome. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

IMHO just get 2500k instead of 2600k, you'll barely feel the difference in gaming.

If money is an issue then I agree the i5-2500k would be better for obvious reasons. However since it seems money doesn't seem to be an issue, then go for it, get the i7-2600k.

Agreed. You would only the notice the i7 if you were using games/applications which used hyperthreading.

I know, I just wanted to check if I could build a faster and cheaper pc than the pc in an advertisement tounge2.gif

The main thing why I posted it was because of the price of the HDD, damn confused.gif
